For those saying that Paily doesn't have any chemistry must not realize they are friends in real life. In my personal opinion they have one of the most sensual kisses on the show, perhaps one of the most I've ever seen. And Maya... well...she had horrible acting in the first season that just gave that whole story a bad taste in my mouth to begin with, no offense to the Maya fans.
The storyline was fine, but the acting threw it off for me. For me, some of the best storylines can be ruined by poor acting. And the actress just wasn't on par back then, but in later episodes (after returning) her acting became better.

Paige was a narcissist. She lied about even knowing Alison. When Emily caught her in it, she only told the bare minimum - she never told her that she liked Emily and Ali knew, she never told her Alison was blackmailing her. She was petty and jealous a lot and while I understand everyone feels jealous, I didn't like how Paige acted. It was very hard to like her, she seems like she was always having drama mentally within herself with who she was and it made her really insecure with Emily.
