Kent has been part of my life since -94. My teenage years, crazy years as a student and now an adult at 45 . Their lyrics have always captured the essence of life. A lot of people in Sweden would consider their musik as the soundtrack of their lives. Great reaction seeing beyond the language barrier.
Kent is one of the best band ever! This song is just amazing as all of the rest songs from Kent. Yes i agree, you dont need to understand the words. You just feel it. Another good example is Sigur Ros from Iceland:)
It's a song about getting older, "Your refelction in the mirror looks like shit and everythig that used to be so simple have become very hard" i can relate. :)

I think it is a love song. To the band itself. To that friendship. "What you mean to me / what I mean to you / what we mean towards each other" and of course the snapshots of all the things they used to do, tied together in the chorus line, "so where are we now, And where are we here, today? Is there someone here who sees a path back to then?" It's oddly melancholic, and as you say, simply gorgeous in arrangement and execution.
For me this band was magical discovering them back in Isola days. It was like how I felt when I discovered the Smashing Pumpkins. Kents sound definetly morphed through each albums release. Not in a bad way, just maybe a more dancey/club sound. Nice video :)

Kent ❤️ My foreverinmyheart-band! One of the Concert i went to he told that this song is a ”collection” of memories from when they where young. In one place he sings ”Your reflection looks like crap” i always smile at that part! Joakim wrote his lyrics on a very poetic way! And there is many songs i want a explonation for! But on their conserts he often explained one or two songs, so i got some over the 11 conserts i went to. They will forever be the best live-band! I will miss them forever!
That was impressively perceptive of you to pick up on the "i en stulen båt" meaning "in a stolen boat". To me, that says you listen very actively even though you know you won't understand most of it. A+++++++ For listening to music where the lyrics aren't your native tunge. My take on music is that it is a universal language, spoken and understood across continents and cultures that stretches across our oceans and borders. It is how YOU perceive it, how YOU interpret it and it does not even need to have a spoken language in it.. It can be purely instrumental but it can still tell a story that brings someone to tears (I can attest to that) we all understand music, we all do! in some way.. I believe so. Food and music is the fundamental building-blocks of humanity, it connects us and it is the same but different all across our earth! Music is love, music is Human. Spread more love, spread music!

My take on music is that it is a universal language, spoken and understood across continents and cultures that stretches across our oceans and borders. It is how YOU perceive it, how YOU interpret it and it does not even need to have a spoken language in it..
