Hi ! I bought this camera 2 weeks ago but as I was finishing my Kodak Fun Saver, I've only loaded it today lol. And I've just discovered your review about it. I've already watched your review of the lomography simple camera. Anyway, this video is really great. I didn't really need to be conviced but I'm sure people will buy this camera after seeing your review. For potential buyer I'm gonna explain why I bought it even though I did not tried it yet. I LOVE the look. That's it. I've been lurking other point and shoot and they all look the same : black and boring. I find it kinda too serious for this kind of easy to use gear. Also, I love the fact that it's really simple to use. I don't want to be able to adjust anything. I have a Canon 70D where I can control everything and I don't need that. I could also have bought a Canon AE1 like every other begginer in film photography. No thanks ! And yes, I do think that it's a bit expensive for what it is but I was willing to pay extra to have an object that I'll be glad to use a lot and as you said at the end, I don't mind spending some extra bucks ton support a firm that has already proven it will to keep film alive. And finally, just to talk about the video itself : it's fucking great. The editing is really good. It's well organized. There are enough samples. Well done !
Thanks for the kind words, Eric! Totally agree, the look of the Show camera is quite unique. Love how colourful it is 😄 I hope you’ll enjoy using yours!
Im going to buy this thing purely because it looks so adorable and i already have multiple professional and prosumer cameras and kinda want something thats super casual
Thanks for your review! I just bought this camera (the blue version) as a present for myself this Christmas. I can't wait to use it. Another camera I'm interested in is the HOLGA, I'll look for more reviews on that.
What's up Bon? The images came out better than I expected especially the outdoor ones. Makes you realize critical exposure isn't as important as we may think.
I had like I don't know maybe 50 cameras of this type. I don't know about where you live but most of mine cost like from a dollar to maybe seven or eight dollars that I've got from stores. When you tilt the camera to the light and look at the lens you can see that it has kind of a more whitish kind of look that means the lens is plastic and the quality of the photos will reflect that of course. If the lens has more of a clear or usually bluish or greenish cast to it then it's glass. There are some older Olympus cameras like a trip 500 trip 600 505 several of those kind have glass lenses and take much better pictures from my experience. And those probably go for a few bucks to maybe 25 bucks or so. Really enjoy your channel I've watched several of your reviews.
@@arthurlefevre9581 you don’t have to~ ISO 800 films might be harder to find or a bit more expensive, but you can still use them. I like using Lomography’s colour negative 800 with their simple use film camera.
I am new to film and just got this camera, is it still quiet when shooting without flash? I just want to be sure I’m actually taking a photo and have it set up properly because mine is quiet when I take a photo!!
It’s a little quiet yeah but it’s audible enough for me. One thing you could do is check if you can’t turn the film advance wheel, that means you haven’t taken a photo yet
Hi do you have result with iso 800 because I’m looking for a camera that be able to take pictures in the night and I just bought this one. I just want to know if I can use this one for party’s ! But the video is pretty good and thank you
Hello, I haven’t shot an 800 ISO roll on this camera but given the results I had with ISO 400, 800 would work well here too, especially in low light or overcast days 😊
Thanks for this review. I'm planning to buy Vibe Photo 501f which is quite similar to this cam in terms of their exterior design. Do you know their difference or are they also similar as to specs?
I have a Vibe 501F too, I just haven’t had time to make the video haha 😂 They’re the same specs. I think the only difference is that Dubble film hand checks each camera before shipping so there’s less chance that you’ll get a faulty camera
@@Bonsees thank you for answering my question. I can finally checkout my order 😅 Hope you’ll do a review of Vibe Photo 501f. I enjoy how informative you are, a great help for someone like me who’s a newbie to film photography.
@@rukbir8144 This camera is already better than the simple use. I haven't used the Kodak/Harman yet, so I can't recommend them, though I assume they're very similar to the Show camera. I ordered the Kodak off eBay haha might take a month before it reaches me from China though 😅
Hey Bon great video! I recently got a film camera, wondering what to do about scans and progressing, do you process your own films or go to a photo lab?
Thanks, Vincy! I used to process my own film but I just go to a photo lab for processing and scanning most of the time now. I find that saves me a lot of time. Labs usually have better scanning equipment too. At home, I use an Epson V600 flatbed scanner to scan my films. Then I use negative lab pro and Lightroom to convert the colours.
@@Bonsees cool! thanks for the info :> film is quite expensive in canada but i guess it's a motivation for us to utilize our cameras better instead of taking photos mindlessly haha
I made a video about the M35 and M38 if you'd like to see a longer take on this. But TLDW, there's not a lot of differences between these cameras imo and I think it's fine if you simply buy based on aesthetics. But I know Dubblefilm hand checks their cameras and have a social media presence so you'll probably get more support if you buy their camera. The Kodak ones are cheaper though.
Hey really love your content this is awesome . What is your preferred editing software you use for videomaking , I'd love to have a conversation and maybe even collaborate on different ways in telling stories through video !

thank you for the review Bon! :) it is really useful and helping me to decide which reuseable film camera to purchase as my first one! :)
Glad it helped! 😊
thanks for the video! It was really helpful since I was literally debating between getting the lomography simple use and this one
Glad it was helpful!
The lens effect reminds me of the Holga
Yeah! they’re definitely in the same space as they both have plastic lenses
Brilliant review :)
Thanks ☺️
Great video thanks ! What’s the difference between 400 or 800 please?
ISO 800 is more sensitive to light than 400 so it’s good for low light and fast shutter speeds
