The 50's , 60's & early 70's clearly were the decades of fun & excitement for the design & engineering of all American Made cars & trucks....this particular Ford is gorgeous..!!!!
The ‘60 convertibles seem to be pretty rare, and it was a unique design for the Galaxies. I love the Yosemite Yellow paint cold, and the yellow black, and white interior is spectacular. The car is amazingly clean and perfect. I love the continental kit as well. Beautiful car!

BEAUTIFUL! The Ford's of 1960 were really beautiful, especially the upper level models. I wonder if all the 1960 Ford's had their models written on the glovebox? I also loved the almost identical last year of the Edsel that were, of course, builty off these cars. I was so glad when this popped up on my Feed. Thanks Lou. I wonder what the GM (Chevy) people th9ought the first time they saw this car...Last but not least...why can't cars today sound like these cars????
HI Brian, Hmmm, not sure about the gloveboxes having the models written on them. Hoping a Viewer can share knowledge. "why can't cars today sound like these cars????" As always, an excellent video. I've never seen many 1960 Fords. I always liked the crescent half-moon taillights; very attractive. I never understood why Ford didn't use this design in subsequent model years.

Y'know what Lou ? I think this is one of the most beautiful cars you've featured. I actually saw one of these at a car show in the UK; gleaming red and yes they are huge ! I was in a real hurry at the time so it's nice to get a good close-up of all of those details which make it a real SNAZZY luxo-cruiser. These cars had style by the mile.
Hi JOHNNIE: LORD OF THE MungoidHen PEOPLE, We have a WINNER! I'm glad I found one you feel is beautiful. Hope you find a few more on the Channel you'll enjoy, Lou
I have watched LOADS of your uploads. They are excellent. I like big old unusual cars and MY faves are from the 50's & 60's (oh & the 70's) Keep up the great work. Love from UK. PEACE.

3:50. I see that the ignition is on the left side of the dashboard. My parents had a 1964 Fairlane and I remember that the ignition was in that same location as well. Wasn't that unusual? I remember that other cars at the time had the ignition on the dashboard to the immediate right of the steering wheel. Of course, for the most part, ignitions are now on the steering column.
I bought a black one with the red, white and black interior in 1965 for $600 from a doctor. The car was cherry with 32K on the odometer. Mine also had the double whitewalls, wire wheels and "spinners". With the top down people's heads would whip around on the highway. It's a very impressive vehicle. My best friend bought an equally clean white Chevy Impala convertible but when we parked the cars next to each other the crowds were always around my Sunliner ooing and ahhing. It was fast with that 352! That baby FLEW! I sold it and bought a black '63 Buick Wildcat with a 445. Something I regret now.

Different colored valve covers and air filters did not indicate horsepower. 300 hp. 352 cu.in. big block FE motors were typically Ford blue. First yellow one I have seen and we worked on many in the 1950s and 1960s.

This is the most well equipped 60 Ford Sunliner I've ever seen. 60 was my least favorite body style of any Ford. My dad hated them as well, however I can appreciate the evolution of the body design. The 61 was gorgeous.
My 1960 Ford Sunliner convertible has a 360 hp 352 engine and B/W 4 speed T-10 manual transmission. White with black/white interior and a black top. I put 15x7 Mickey Thompson alloy slot wheels on it. Other than those, I left the car stock.
my dad has the regular starliner three speed on the floor with the two four barrel carberatours, dad's had the traction bars with the big block thunderbird 390 you could let out the clutch and jump a coke bottle

these are ALL rediculously abhorrent vehicles that should never have existed. the rangers (58-62,) were rebadged leftovers from the exhaustively expensive edsel experiment we all got from fomoco. they were disguised vestiges of the complete mistake that almost bankrupt ford motors.

I don’t think that continental kit was original on the car
I believe it's a Dealer add on option, or after market item.
Sorry, but a continental kit on any car, just makes it UGLY

Thank you for viewing and sharing.
You got that continental kit sitting up like an erection. That is a strange thing, sort of ruins the car.
That'll get your attention!
Very interesting that this ford product had electric windows in 1960...don't think that wonderful option was seen on too many ford cars back then...
