@@jessethereaderI’m definitely interested in picking up A River Enchanted just got to find a hardcover copy of it first cause that edition is gorgeous Jesse & I love fairytale vibe books and this sounds right up my alley 😊 Have a Fantastic Weekend & Happy Reading 📖😊 And update I just found the exact copy on Mecari so I can’t wait to receive it 📖🥰🥰
Not book related but you seem healthier. Like you have grown and are more comfortable with yourself, a lot more calmness and less anxious. I hope this is true, keep up the good work 😊 All the love from Sweden :)
I honestly really love middle grade fiction. There’s something about how authors write dialogue and emotions through kids that’s so funny and heartwarming.
I truly love the vibes these vlogs bring, they're so cozy and relaxing. The editing, music and transitions are so well done and we do love a mid video boba review!
Ohhh a series called "did it need to be a series/duology" where you read a series and maybe vlogged it while you're trying to decide if you think it should have been a series or not. Especially with the fantasy books I find that they absolutely do not need to be more than one book so I think this would be really fun and it would be books you already read or want to so you'd be finishing series at the same time
Inuyasha was my gateway anime as well. I need to do another rewatch. And Wonka is one of my new favourite movies. I loved the quirkiness of it and it make me feel all the warm and fuzzies. By the end of this video, I've added 2 more books to my tbr...
That B-roll was on point! (And I love that you wrap up in a blanket to film - I'm going to start doing that!) I'm so glad that you found your new favorite
ok so what i'm hearing is i NEED to pick up a river enchanted lol. your experience reading, especially how you wanted to savor it, reminds me of my experience reading the starless sea which i also need to reread because that was everything to me. i'm currently really enjoying the inheritance of orquidea divina by zoraida cordova, i'm just so in love with the magical, mysterious atmosphere and the writing is SO GOOD
OMG I grew up with Inuyasha too! I love the anime and Sesshomaru is my favorite character! You definitely should check out Final Act when you get through with the original! Also I watched all of Attack on Titan and loved it so much. I read over 20 manga series last year which included Attack on Titan, Demon Slayer, among many others. My favorites were some lesser known series like Ceres:The Celestial Maiden, Chobits, and also XxxHolic. Chobits and XxxHolic are done by CLAMP and Ceres is written by Yú Watase. I also enjoyed Alice19th also written by Yú Watase and honestly she has become one of my favorite mangakas of all time. To where I want to own all her series.
To be honest, as 90s kids who grew up seeing willy wonka a lot, my husband and I got choked up during the last scene of Wonka. Such a good throwback to the original while still being its own story
ohhh my goodness okay, I’m so sorry but I need to be feral in your comments section about A River Enchanted/R.R. 😅 I *just* finished it myself last week and I loved it. I’m so incredibly jealous of your version of it, that fanart is !!!!! I’m currently reading Sisters of Sword and Song, also by Rebecca Ross, and also my fourth read by her this year alone. The Divine Rivals duology was good, but I’ve loved all of her other books even more so far. they’re the kind of fantasy I think of when I think of “cozy fantasy” - not necessarily low stakes, but it feels like being wrapped up in a fairy tale the way books used to pull me into their worlds as a kid. they remind me of reading in bed by the light of dusk in the summertime when I was a child, when the whole world felt possible and these worlds I was reading felt like I could reach them if I tried. I super recommend trying some of her other books and seeing if you like them as well. Dreams Lie Beneath was my first 5 star this year. the writing style is a little different (it’s YA, and in first person POV) but it still felt like home all the same. and it has dream magic! her books so far remind me of reading An Enchantment of Ravens, or a Sharon Shinn book. I’m so glad you loved A River Enchanted 💗 also, a song recommendation for you that I stumbled across the week before I read A River Enchanted, and that now reminds me of the book & world: Arise by CLANN. okay, rambling over haha 💗
Inuyasha was one of my first anime too! Glad to hear you're enjoying it! I've tried to rewatch it too but i have trouble committing to very long series 😅 which is why I'll probably never read/watch One Piece. Thanks for covering A River Enchanted! I read it because of this video and loved it.
Alright, you've convinced me to finally at least give Godkiller a chance. I'd love to get invested into some new fantasy characters, even if the plot isn't always the best.
I love this kind of videos! I´ve been binging your videos lately, and reading vlogs are my favourite!!!! I´ve been on a bad reading slump, so I reread Truthwitch to dig me out of it, and also because I need to continue with the series.
I felt the same about A River Enchanted. The writing was so beautiful and I loved the plot….the middle just dragged a bit so I ended up giving it a 4 star. I’ve seen some reviews that say the conclusion book is even better, so I’m hopeful for it. I want to read it soon.
Im excited to read it I was also looking for books Recommendations , do you like the second book please tell me yes or no , and no spoilers please if you do have book 2
Ooh you're watching all the good anime at the moment. I just got godkiller for my birthday and I am looking forward to falling in love with the characters as well even if it is an imperfect book.
I think you'd also really enjoy Sisters of Sword and Song by Rebecca Ross, it's a fantasy stand alone and focuses on the bond between two sisters (instead of on romance) :)
I watched Inuyasha a couple of years ago and I absolutely loved it! I do think it was a bit long and the plot got repetitive but it was still really good and I loved the characters! I love cozy games as well! I recommend Ooblets. It's like a mix between Animal Crossing and Pokemon. I also love how you filmed this reading vlog!
I didn't know I could love Jesse more until he said Inuyasha was the anime that got him into the genre. SAME. I can't tell you how obsessed I was with that show growing up. I wanted to BE Kagome LOL
I wanted to know your thoughts on A River Enchanted before I decided to read it. I already read and loved Divine Rivals and am now buddy reading Ruthless Vows (just started), so I already had a good feeling about it. Now I can definitely add Enchanted to my TBR, so thank you. I also just finished Little Thieves by Margaret Owen (enjoyed it a lot). Along with Ruthless Vows, I'm also reading Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries. I took a years long break from any fae related books because I was so burnt out by the concept, but I'm excited to give this one a chance. Lastly, WHERE did you get the Book Sniffer mug?! I must have it.
It's great you were able to find a new favorite book! I actually watched Inuyasha for the first time few years ago and enjoyed it. My sister was obsessed with it when we were younger. I'm not unique in the fact I am in the middle of reading House of Flame and Shadow right now. 😅
Jesse, oh my gosh I’m so happy 😁 you uploaded a video such a nice way to unwind from the day ❤ hey also I recently picked up Happy Place by Emily Henry I’m so excited to read it !!!!!😊
I'm currently reading 'The Maniac' by Benjamìn Labatut, more or less telling the story of Von Neuman and the creation of the atomic bomb, but it's so well written and the topic in itself is so interesting. There is talk about other scientists / mathematics from the time period too (There is definetly trigger warnings with this one!!)
Inuyasha was one of my first anime growing up too! I finally finished the story a few years ago but I ended up reading the manga instead of the anime because the anime felt a little drawn out at times. So if you end up like me, try the manga!
Hi, Jesse! I thought you'd be happy to hear that I'm reading The Book Thief for the first time! I'm really enjoying it. I can already tell that it'll probably break my heart though, lol.
Only book I read from this video is Godkiller and I really enjoyed it. That ending tho! 👀 Really excited for Sunbringer. Right now I'm reading Wolfsong by TJ Klune and boy oh boy.... I don't remember the last time I cried this much reading a book 😂I knew beforehand that it's an angsty read but I'm not even halfway through the book and I ugly cried a hand full of time already.
I am ~finally~ getting around to reading Kaikeyi & Spice Road, but I'm reading them somewhat simultaneously because of library deadlines. Both are over 450 pages. Send help ^^" Also, idk if you've read anything by Sajni Patel, but my friend and I plan to read Drop of Venom sometime this month (it was released in January). It appears to be a Medusa retelling (YA). I read a book by Sajni Patel last year that I believe was also YA and enjoyed it, so I'm hopeful this one will be good as well
But my absolute favorite book from 2023 without a doubt was Independence by Chitra Banerjee Divakurani Iff you're interested in non-fiction that's told in a bit of a cheeky way, 52 Times Britain Was a Bellend was also pretty high up there recently for me lol
Hey, just got introduced to your channel, I've been going down a booktube rabbit hole, and I really want one of the booktubers I watch to discuss a graphic novel I recently finished called "the boxer". It really impacted me emotionally and means a lot to me and would really like to see your take on it, it's technically a manwha so i don't know how you feel about those, but I really recommend it, keep up the great content, warrior.
the brain rot i have that when someone says something has a chokehold on them, i immediately go "hehe nice. sleep token" i sadly haven't had a single 5 star read this year. I've really disliked several of the books I've read so far, unfortunately
I am glad you mostly enjoyed them, A River Enchanted and Godkiller are on my most disappointing list. A River Enchanted wasn't bad at all but it just didn't grab me for some reason and I felt that it dragged. I gave it a 3 star. So not a bad read but I expected to love it so much more. Godkiller was 1/3 DnF, I honestly found that (aside from the opening chapter) the writing was awful. The book needed so much more editing. Some of thoses sentences were so whacky ! Also very disliked Kissen.
Main takeaway from this video: Jesse most definitely (probably) has clean(ish) hands 😂
LOL

I like to think the hands are dirty :)
4:50 There are people out there who could go to watch ‘Mean Girls: The Musical’ and be like: “Wait, this is a musical?”
Not book related but you seem healthier. Like you have grown and are more comfortable with yourself, a lot more calmness and less anxious. I hope this is true, keep up the good work 😊 All the love from Sweden :)
I LOVE Rebecca Ross's writing style. Divine rivals was one of my favourite books of 2023!

The waist-down blanket wrap when you're filming is so relatable. 😊

I think many fans misunderstand Sesshomaru. I'm curious what you think of him after finishing Inuyasha.
