This is what I'm talking about! A brotha on stage singing his ass off. A voice actually coming out of his mouth without any gimmicks. Just emotions. The video to the song scared me as a little girl.
One thing about the Arsenio Hall Show,it broke a lot of artists. Arsenio opened to door for many. They had somewhere to perform on tv. But Aaron sung that song. Singers today think doing 500 runs, and riffs before you even get to the second verse is singing, and they don't even do them on key half the time. This is sanging.
I agree Aaron Hall can sing his Vocals are superb and I can see why R Kelly would emulate after Aaron Hall and he said in a interview that he is a fan of Aaron Hall Aaron set the pathway for R Kelly and numerous other artists these Brothers can sing period
R. KELLY did not get his style from AARON HALL. GUY came out in '87. R. was already singing on the beach at that time. You can say he took from STEVIE & maybe CHARLIE but AARON... no
Robert got it From Aaron, who got it from Uncle Charlie, who got it from Stevie. Your point is what? Nobody was using those type of vocal runs til Stevie shook up the music game.
Mr. Chevy Mills idk i see stevie but i cant . I see more sam cook and charlie in aaron and r.kelly. Stevie i can with like riffs but powerful singing , stage presents etc sam cooke
When first heard Mr. Aaron Hall he reminded me of Mr. Charlie Wilson. Without a doubt one of my fav artists... and would do it “live” .. still listening to his great artistry. Thank you Aaron Hall!
60's R&B was fun music 70's R&B was Love Music 80's R&B was Dance Music 90's R&B was Begging Music My favorite the is a combination of the Love & Begging Music 😂

Awesome... but anybody else disappointed he didn’t do that last classic part of the lyrics...”Every time I lay at night all I do is cryyyy” ? .... ahhh they just don’t make songs like this anymore!!
@RTDavis0503 gonna have to disagree..charlie wilson sounds nothing like he did during his gap band days. in fact im gonna say when aaron became successful is when charlie changed vocally. listen to any gapband album and youll hear a different charlie. Aaron is a mixer of gap and steveie wonder...and one thing he is right about, his swagger can never be duplicated. he is the 90 standard for soulsingers. he is truly unsung. charlie should thk him for giving him props unlike kelly givn ah props.
Blaze Thomas Live performances just has that extra twist that the album version doesn't have. Idk it sounds a little bit of both if not better because he wasn't lip singing. the only thing that he kept original from the album was the background vocals. Great performance
@@davidmason3180 Kelly's rough ass voice is nowhere near Aaron's. They are only compared on their vocal style and attire, which the other one literally just ripped off it and went more famous (Eventually plunged down when he caught lackin' with minors...).
@RTDavis0503 o and remember, computer love with charlie is a late 80's remake! after guy success! it is when i really start to notice CW going for that AH sound like everybody else in the late 80s early 90s. AH deserves credit for that. he gives props to CW for his influence and CW should return the favor alittle...imo!
sna2ke you are TOTALLY wrong. Charlie Wilson was channeling HIS mentor Stevie Wonder on Computer Love! Computer Love remake came out in 1986!! Guy didn't come out until 1988!!! You smoking if you think Charlie copied an unknown when Charlie came out in 1979!
Great job, but there is a reason why Charlie Wilson is still the man, "he's the voice of all those new jack vocalist copy cats". Arron is a really good singer, but ask any true vocalist or musician and they will tell you that there is no comparison, CW is stronger, has much more control, better tone, greater range and over all natural ability. They both are very talented and I respect them as artist. It would be nice to see how an Arron Hall cd would do in todays times because Charlie Wilson is killin' the game with hit after hit and he's over 60 years old. Now run tell dat! Lol
Charlie took Aarons style cause he is the best Charlie's music is boring there's only a few nice songs but compared to Aron's body of work Charlie doesn't stand a chance
B Sweat Master are you SMOKING??? Charlie Wilson came out in 1979!! With the Gap Band sounding like he does now! Guy came it in 1988!!! Aaron admitted ON WAX, that Charlie is his vocal mentor!! How is the older copying the younger??? Aaron tries his best to sound like Charlie..stole his riffs, the ooh wee and the Shabba dooba dweedy dee..You must be under thirty
Aaron Hall actually was heavily influenced by Charlie Wilson from when he was with the Gap Band in the early 70s.???????When Aaron Hall was a young Kid
@RTDavis0503 :) I RESPECT THAT! I AM ALSO A CHARLIE WILSON/GAPBAND FAN AND IM NOT TRYING TO START A BEEF BETWEEN THE TWO, BUT BURN RUBBER, PARTY TRAIN AND DROP THE BOMB R A DIFFERENT TYPE OF charlie singin. less throatie riffs. more comical. AH success made him riff more, growl more. im not sayn whos better, but AH s success made CW approach different. i just think that gets overlooked. gap faded in the late 80's. ah had similiar voice and CW resurrected his flow. got to give AH credit for that
Aaron Hall will FOREVER be tha man! I can hear tha Stevie influence. Even a lil bit of Charile Wilson. Aaron was tha perfect mix of CLASSIC r&b. Too bad he fell all tha way tha fuck off and let R Kelly take his place..
@RTDavis0503 i can roll with CW and AH...but Rkelly...never! :)i have a distaste for kells but thats just me! you definitely have good taste in music. im hoping talent will make a comeback! i thought AH said he had a new album "64 classic" comin but he talks more than they actually produce!
30 years ago...Jesus time flys. I miss the 90's. Would give anything to live it all over again.
Stevie Wonder's voice Plus Charlie Wilson's voice = Aaron Hall
And Donny Hathaway on certain songs....
💯🤌🏿
Perfect
Yes you definitely can hear their influence (most noticeably Charlie) all while sounding like himself …Aaron Hall…
Right!😄
This was back when you actually had to have talent to make it in the music business..The best music came from the 90s
Oh yes most definitely 💯
I believe every 90's r&b artist deserves a lifetime achievement award. If that wasn't the best era of entertainment what was? I'll wait.
The 70s

R KELLY WHO!??!?! Baby this is the ORIGINAL! first one doing all that! I love R. Kelly too but he most definitely loved Aaron Hall!

WELL AARON HALL EMULATED CHARLIE WILSON, STEVIE WONDER AND DONNY HATHAWAY.. THATS WHERE HIS SOUND CAME FROM. A COMBINATION OF THOSE THREE
R. KELLY did not get his style from AARON HALL.
GUY came out in '87.
R. was already singing on the beach at that time. You can say he took from STEVIE & maybe CHARLIE but AARON... no

I want the live performance to sound as close to or exactly the same as the record version. I know I'm not alone
Mad Ry live performances sound better.
Yes I agree!!! This performance is the same as the album version in my opinion because it’s perfect.
Musical Genius 🙌🏽

What song was so confusing I thought they were breaking up but the woman actually died in childbirth
he sounded good i just hate when it dont sound like the album version
Blaze Thomas it's live what do you expect? I prefer it live than that lip sync bs. I hate lip syncing.

I wonder what R Kelly could do with this

Aaron Hall, Marvin Winans, Gerald Levert and Sam Cooke.. You get R Kelly
Back when age didn’t matter fully grown ADULTS making music
@rtoman4474 aint messing wit Robert Kelly

Charlie Wilson vs K-Ci, I dunno about that. K-Ci has that... K-Ci-ness about him.
Charlie all day
Betty Shaw charlie took care of his voice. Aaron ruined his
Charlie took Aarons style cause he is the best Charlie's music is boring there's only a few nice songs but compared to Aron's body of work Charlie doesn't stand a chance
Charlie all day
The real emotions or something from the studio version is missing in this live show
Ain't nobody that can sing like Aaron hall not even Charlie Wilson coz all of them faked Aarons style this guy is the best vocalist of all time.
