  • In this video I'm showing you Behind the Scenes moments during a real newborn photoshoot. I'm also sharing my workflow with you when I'm photographing newborn babies and I'm sharing my favorite wrapping technique with you. How do you become a newborn photographer? Watch this video! THIS IS THE 2019 EDITION!
Here's some of the items I use or a regular basis:
    - camera's Nikon D750 and Nikon D610
    - lens Nikkor 24-70mm F2.8 for studio work
    - lens Tamron 90mm F/2.8 MACRO VC for Macro shots (baby details and wedding rings for example)
    - lens Sigma Art 105mm F1.4 for outdoor sessions
    - For Newborns, Babies and Cake Smashes: Godox Speedlite V860II Nikon X-PRO Duo kit with softbox Westcott 50 inch Recessed Front Apollo JS
    - For Portraits: Godox AD400 pro with Caruba Beauty Disk and/or Caruba Parabolic Sotbox
    - For Newborns: Round backdrop stand Paloma Schell Classic Stand palomaschellshop.com/
    - vinyl backdrops www.studiobackdrops.eu and www.fotoachtergronden.nl
    - floormat white distressed wood www.shopbackdrop.com/
    - cake smash bathtub and Flokati's www.newbornprops.eu
    - Vlog camera Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II compact camera
I'm a full-time photographer in the Netherlands and I'm planning on showing you a but more of my life as a photographer. Are you interested in photography? Are you looking for a free-online Photography course? Do you want to see the inside of a Photo Studio? Then please, watch my videos and subscribe to my channel!
I'm planning on sharing videos in which I show you my typical work-week as a photographer. I will give you tips & tricks concerning photography, photo shoots, backdrops, studio props, camera settings (iso, aperture, shutter speed, white balance), photoshoot outfits, photoshoot make-up etc.
Ik zal videos maken over camera instellingen (iso, sluitertijd, diafragma, wit-balans), studio achtergronden, fotoshoot outfits, fotoshoot make-up enz.
    IMPORTANT
If you are interested in photographing newborn babies yourself I would highly recommend you to first learn about photography in general. Master you camera, photograph in the Manual mode, learn about aperture, iso, shutter speed, white balance, light and composition. Take photos of your friends (adults or very patient older kids) and make sure you don't have to think about your camera anymore when photographing babies. Learn about editing as well. Please, don't experiment photographing Newborn babies without training. Attend a workshop by an experienced and professional photographer with an expertise in Newborn Photography. Learn about the anatomy of babies and invest in good quality cameras, lenses and props. Babies are extremely vulnerable and small and their safety and comfort should be your highest priority. Start with simple poses and make sure you know and understand that many 'pinterest poses' are composites. Please, don't try this at home. If you want beautiful photos of your own Newborn Baby, I highly recommend you to hire a professional and experienced photographer who is trained and specialised in Newborn Photography.

That's so great to hear. You're welcome! It also makes sense to start (for example) with the parent/siblings shots, so the make-up of the mom is still fresh and the siblings can leave. However, this works for me better, because I want to take my time to get the newborn undressed and sleepy without having to rush to the family shots.

Many thanks for sharing the video. My friend has asked me to take photographs of their newborn grand daughter, but I've never shot so small children so took it to youtube for some basic advice.. The first two videos I watched from other photographers made me go...nope, no way I want to be doing this!.... This whole wrapping up the babies to look like kinder surprise eggs, to a point they can hardly breathe just made me feel very uneasy, some of these kids were handled like dolls or even beanbags...nah..it was only until I saw your video from the actual shoot where I myself felt a lot more comfortable and relaxed, never mind your models! They look so unbothered by your photos, and you can see this on the photos. Great job, keep it up!
