The silver set branded as Trakton was also sold with the Groupmen branding. I have had half a dozen of them over the years, found at electronic sales and yard sales or given to me by people cleaning out houses. Great little TVs, I still have a couple. Not much goes wrong with them. I don't know which countries they were sold in but we certainly had them here in NZ. The strange thing is if you Google "Groupmen TV" there are no results at all. Obviously never made it onto the internet. When I pull my ones out of storage I will have to photograph them and put them up online somewhere.
Interesting. Never heard of that brand but was probably an importer in NZ that got their own badges made. We had NG Enterprises that put the Princess and Palsonic brands on Samsung and LG and then Chinese imports. I suspect Trackton was another of their brands but cant be sure.
This does kind of sum up why the Japanese lost their edge though. The cheaper stuff was "good enough", and you have to really dig into the details to see any difference. Most people aren't interested in the last 10% of quality and so go for the one that is half the price.
Thank you for that great Video.
