  • Tomi Lauren is very uspset about Beyonce’s Super Bowl halftime performance. She believes that Knowles is “ramrodding an aggressive agenda down our throat” and promoting a “black lives matter more” agenda. Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian hosts of The Young Turks discuss.
    Do you think Beyonce is “ramrodding an aggressive agenda down our throats?" Let us know in the comments below.
    Read more here: www.rawstory.c...
    “Tomi Lahren, host of Glenn Beck’s The Blaze network, argued this week that Beyonce’s tribute to Black Lives Matter and the Black Panthers at the Super Bowl was unfair to “little white girls” who like her music.
    “First it was hands up, don’t shoot,” Lahren complained during her Tuesday show. “Then it was burning down buildings and looting drug stores, all the way to #OscarSoWhite. And now, even the Super Bowl halftime show has become a way to politicize and advance the notion that black lives matter more.”
    According to the host, Beyonce was “ramrodding an aggressive agenda down our throats, and using fame and entertainment value to do so.”

    FACT: Neither Beyonce's performance NOR lyrics had ANYTHING to do with White people, and EVERYTHING to do with honoring and encouraging Black people. What EXACTLY is offensive about that?

      +Corrin Orlando you're talking about dressing girls up into people that believe whites are better than blacks, while Beyonce was promoting black power to fight for equality.

      There is no one group aggresively dominating the other? Umm what about when the white man came to America, commited mass genocide against the Native Americans, brought slaves against their will, worked them so hard that muscles would detach from off the bone, killing any slaves that could read, and tortured them in such ways as whipping, gator bating, burning them whilst alive, chopping off parts of their bodies and keeping them as trophies, tying ropes to each of a slave's legs, attaching them to horses and making the horses run in opposite directions, ripping open female slaves' vaginas with a vaginal specula (without anaesthetic by the way), sticking shoemakers' awls in newborn baby slaves' ears in an attempt to "realign their skulls, the amputations, the rapes, the lynchings (which occured AFTER the slaves were supposedly freed), not allowing blacks to live in certain states, police and prison brutality which continues to this day, racial profiling, unequal job opportunities, biased court systems, closing schools, building prisons, publically destroying or even assassinating anyone who tries to lead us out of this slave mentality we have been subjected to and just generally speaking straight up terrorism with no trauma break, healing or reparations.
      Nah. No aggressive domination whatsoever.

      At its inception on October 15,[4] 1966, the Black Panther Party's core practice was its armed citizens' patrols to monitor the behavior of police officers and challenge police brutality in Oakland, California. In 1969, community social programs became a core activity of party members.[5] The Black Panther Party instituted a variety of community social programs, most extensively the Free Breakfast for Children Programs, and community health clinics.[6][7][8]
      Federal Bureau of Investigation Director J. Edgar Hoover called the party "the greatest threat to the internal security of the country",[9] and he supervised an extensive program (COINTELPRO) of surveillance, infiltration, perjury, police harassment, and many other tactics designed to undermine Panther leadership, incriminate party members, discredit and criminalize the Party, and drain the organization of resources and manpower. The program was also accused of using assassination against Black Panther members.

      THE COURT: In answer to the question did Loyd Jowers participate in a conspiracy to do harm to Dr. Martin Luther King, your answer is yes. Do you also find that others, including governmental agencies, were parties to this conspiracy as alleged by the defendant? Your answer to that one is also yes. And the total amount of damages you find for the plaintiffs entitled to is one hundred dollars. Is that your verdict?
      THE JURY: Yes (In unison).[50]

      +David Wright How about the Jim Crow Laws that we had for the 100 years following the Civil War? Most white people in the South are still completely against things like interracial relationships. Black people are still seen as inferior or other in the South. Black people and white people don't even go to Church together down there. I'm sorry -- while that might not be *all* of America, it's a significant portion and that's a problem.

Beyonce wanted people to hear her voice and what better time to do it than at the Super Bowl were millions are watching so they can get the message. Beyonce was smart that she did this, she is a very talented person and with a powerful voice.

    My problem with Tomi is that she NEVER states actual facts in her videos. Never. It is always just her opinion. I have seen the looks when people see me with my dad, and was treated differently by them after because they discovered I'm not only white. To sit back and try to tear down whole minorities of people because they don't agree with your 'white domination' is just ignorant. Like we should be happy to be dominated by you? We should bow and scrape to your bimbo heels because you say so? How about you quit pretending to be a journalist and actually go look at actual facts. Talk to actual BLM participants. Not one of them will say that blacks should matter more. Their lives should just matter as much as yours. And she always says 'all lives matter'. Then grow up and act like it.

Unfortunately, the media did its damage and attracted the wrong people to BLM just like Occupy Wallstreet.

    *Sigh* I honestly hate it when people hate Malcolm X and the Black Panthers. In hindsight, people say that they were being unreasonable by advocating violence. I'm sorry, but when you're people are being killed and mistreated over and over again, what do you expect is going to happen? I honestly don't understand why these people think that anger is not a legitimate reaction to oppression.

      Dumbass logic.
      You think you are superior, that's your weakness. Meaning literally everyone you oppress works harder and is stronger than you.
      But considering the fact that your intellect is far inferior to my own, I doubt you can actually comprehend what I am saying to you.
      Let me make it simple.
      We. Are. Stronger. Than. You.
      That is why you actively strive to oppress us, you know what will happen when these other races get tired of your bullshit. You'll be taken down, you and this shithole you call America. This Capitalist society will be burned to the ground from within or from outside forces.
      Can't wait to see this country flipped upside down and you under the heels of others. Your mother, sisters, daughters all subject to rape and torture. You pussies called "men" killed for sport. It's what you deserve no less.

      @@andrewfriedman4972 Given that many Americans live in racially homogenous areas and that some cities remain de facto segregated, many white Americans may not be aware of how police operate in spaces and neighborhoods that are not white-dominated. Likewise, white Americans may not understand how being not white in white-dominant spaces may incur unwanted (and unwarranted) contact with police officers. Such interactions are not always hostile, and the vast majority are not violent, but the experience may nevertheless be a negative one because the person who is stopped recognizes, or at least has legitimate reason to believe, that their perceived race or ethnicity played a considerable role in an involuntary police contact.
      As an example of this repeated and unwanted contact, African-American motorist Philando Castile was stopped nearly 50 times for minor violations before he was shot and killed by a police officer in suburban Minnesota in 2016. In many of these stops there was no moving violation at all. In a book published by University of Kansas researchers, evidence suggests that black drivers are far more likely to be pulled over for minor, non-speeding violations than white drivers, who are primarily pulled over for excessive speeding and other less ambiguous violations.
      Even if one disregards all the available statistical, anecdotal, and historical evidence of racially disparate policing, the perception that police treat people differently based on race is nevertheless a genuine policy problem for police agencies. Police need human intelligence-that is, public cooperation-to solve most serious crimes. Communities that believe they are regularly targeted by police because of their race or ethnicity will be far less likely to cooperate with those police when major crimes occur. Thus, the perception of racially disparate police practices may hinder police investigations and lead to less safe communities.

    • @andrewfriedman4972
      @andrewfriedman4972 4 года назад

      SLOTHYY you acted like philando Castile died cuz of a racist cop but actually the cop was Hispanic and philando kept moving even when the cop told him not do and then he started reaching for something. The officer thought philando was reaching for a gun so he had to shoot. Just because Black people happen to be pulled over more doesn’t mean it has anything to do with racism.

      +Steve J But there is white domination in our culture, we just to ignore it cause we hate confronting real issues in our world. For example, a group of white men take over a wildlife refuge espousing anti-government beliefs and basically fighting the descriptions of terrorists. The police and the government do not respond for nearly a month, and even then their response is generally non violent. Compare that to how the Black Panthers were treated by the American public and the police. The response to them was brutal even though they were formed with the intent to protect African Americans from police violence and only retaliated when the police attacked them. People need to wake up and see that racism against minorities still exists in this country and we have done very little to combat it.

      Isadore Wisnith I agree that racism still prevails in America, but not to the degree it once did. The only reason why the white group didn't have such the fallout is that there was a large backing of them. It started in Nevada and the BLM tried to take land that didn't belong to them and they said over our dead bodies. The entire community got behind them. That is the difference. Get the entire community behind the Black Panthers and let the Panthers create a track record that demonstrates they benefit society. Otherwise, they are just a vigilante group out to pay back cops who treat black people bad.
      And for the record, cops don't discriminate as it pertains to whom they brutalize. I know many white people who have been roughed up on plenty of occasions for far less offences. Instead of fighting this white and black thing, we need to realize that the police need to be placed in check, and the citizens need to ban together in unison; white, black, or any other race. No one deserves ill treatment. And they only treat bad those of the lower social class (the poor or pretty poor).

    • @MurrayTheMac
      @MurrayTheMac 8 лет назад +2

      Daxidol *"No one can actually explain to me how saying "all lives matter" diminishes a message that's supposed to be about equality."*
      It diminishes it because it is _reactionary_. It's not a hashtag that would exist if it wasn't for Black Lives Matter. It is a _response_ to them. BLM is saying "Black Lives Matter, and we're saying this because cops are killing us at a disproportionate rate to whites as a result of a lack of caring about black lives as much as white ones", and the All Lives Matter crowd is saying "All Lives Matter, not just the black ones, so stop talking about cops killing blacks disproportionately, you should be talking about cops killing all people".
      BLM is trying to address the _disproportionate_ targeting of blacks. All Lives Matter is trying to say "stop talking about race". Does that explain things?

    • @daxidol1447
      @daxidol1447 8 лет назад

      Hal Jordan You're welcome to talk about police brutality, you even have an ally when you do that.
      Pretending that whites don't face any police brutality is dishonest though, while we can both agree that blacks are disproportionately the victims of police brutality I believe we should be making an effort to end all police brutality.
      Maybe it's because I'm not a racist but I don't think ANY police brutality is okay, regardless of the race of the victim.
      If the movement was accepting of the idea that "all lives matter equally, we should seek to end police brutality where it happens" then I don't see anyone disagreeing with the movement or having an issue with it.
      Heck, even if the racists in the "black lives matter" movement only care about black victims there's no reason to get angry at people saying "all police brutality is vile, all lives matter equally and we should all seek to end it and hold vile police accountable for their actions".
      My only dealings with members of black lives matter have been people screaming at me, calling me a racist because I have the tenacity to believe we should all be equal.
      the "black lives matter" movement will continue to be seen as an increasingly crazy and racist fringe group until they start acting like adults. Which is a shame because they raise many valid points, but wont get my support (or the support of others like me) because of their racist ideals.

    • @daxidol1447
      @daxidol1447 8 лет назад

      MurrayTheMac When have I said we shouldn't talk about race?
      Pretending that whites don't face any police brutality is dishonest though, while we can both agree that blacks are disproportionately the victims of police brutality I believe we should be making an effort to end all police brutality.
      If the movement was accepting of the idea that "all lives matter equally, we should seek to end police brutality where it happens" then I don't see anyone disagreeing with the movement or having an issue with it.

      My only dealings with members of black lives matter have been people screaming at me, calling me a racist because I have the tenacity to believe we should all be equal.
      Furthermore, I don't even have a twitter, "hashtags" on shitty social media sites are irreverent to the context that I've seen and personally suggested that "all live matter equally".
      Only a racist organisation would have an issue with me advocating to end all police brutality, regardless of race.
      So to answer your question, no your answer doesn't explain how the "black lives matter" movement can be interpreted as anything other then and fringe racist group.
      "We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools."
      - Martin Luther King, Jr.

    Talk about projection! Tomi is not getting what Tomi wants. It is Tomi’s notion that Black lives matter more than HER. Tomi wants equality (of talent). Tomi wants fame. Tomi wants to be valued as an entertainer. (Yes, Tomi, you really do!) Black people do not think in terms of “domination” (they don’t need to) but Tomi feels that she should play a more important, more influential, role than she does. It is Tomi who has the aggressive agenda here in revealing that because she is white SHE should be dominant. Tomi believes that privileges should be granted to her because SHE is in entertainment. The whole thing is a rant exposing Tomi’s jealousy, particularly of beautiful and talented black women (she mentions Jada Pinkett Smith), but it’s not limited to women as she throws in the president too! Ana is correct in noting that she does not know how transparent she is. And further, Ana is spot on with her diagnostic question to Tomi: “are you suffering right now?” Actually, she is - and so she gets ugly (which was probably how she reacted as an infant to feeling insecure).

Is that why some of the wealthiest and most successful people in this country are African-American? Is that why the current president is African-American? Black, white, Hispanic whatever - you achieve success in America through hard work and determination, period. I may not have lived the "Black Experience", but I don't see how anyone in this country can be "dominated" unless they let themselves be dominated. There are too many "rags-to-riches" success stories in America to believe that the "American Dream" is a myth. Don't let anyone - especially someone who's achieved it - tell you that you can't do the same, because you can.
