Great singer. Jon Lord (RIP) said in the 1995 BBC Rock Family Trees docu that it was Ritchies idea "Why don't we get a bass player who can sing so we can do harmonies". It certainly worked, the Burn album was a classic.

Deep Purple blew everyone away at the California Jam and Glenn was a big part of the reason!

How cool would it be to have a deep interview of Eric Blair. Like go to his house, High school friend interviews, Parent interviews. I would pay for that.

Glenn looked so different back then. He was heavier and a lot more tanned and his personality was different. He was more serious back then and less hyper.

Interestingly Glenn mentions that Coverdale arrived after Mistreated was created.

He must have just meant the music because that sort of "I'm a heartbroken bluesman" lyric is so obviously Dave's.

The music for "Mistreated" was written during the Machine Head sessions, but nothing ever materialized. It was only during "Burn" that lyrics were added by Coverdale

I was about to type the exact same thing. The Burn riff is trademark Blackmore...

He's so full of s*** about the riff for Burn, lol. That is a trademark Ritchie Blackmore riff. Glenn, we love you, but come on, man.
