Hanging your TV can be a daunting task and figuring out what to do with the cables can be a nightmare. So while I am hanging mine I figured I'd show you how I do it and how easy it can be.

The in-wall is exactly what I've been looking for. Thanks!
Me too
Love the Harry Potter lightning bolt tattoo! New subscriber so I just now noticed it. Trying to catch up from the beginning but too many of your titles sound so interesting that I go off track! LOL Congrats to the two of you! :)
+C Liles haha Thank you!
I am shocked by the thickness of the wall and how simple it is to put a hole in it.
Hope you got permission from your landlord to cut holes in your wall. 😉
Always easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. Plus I’ll patch the holes before we move out. 😉
Apple tattoo. Booo. I'll get instructions elsewhere.
Okie dokie. 👋🏻 see ya later
john argue: Chillax broskie! Don’t get your panties in a bunch over a little tattoo!
This is the least funny Portlandia episode I've ever seen.
that APPLE tattoo killed me...
When’s the funeral? I’ll send my condolences.
@@CodyJensen Fanboy trash.
Sai Prasad Nandam: Chillax habibi its just a tattoo!
Mauricio Cruz it was cool when Steve Jobs was alive but Apple has gone down hill so much after he passed away. He’s basically a billboard for a brand that sucks now lmfao this dude is the classic brainwashed consumer
Og Bbq: Apple seems fine to me but RIP Steve Jobs and Mac Dre!
Didn't know Logic was doing home improvement videos.
Great video...
- straight to the point
- useful content
- digestible conversational style
- not trying to sell or advertise anything, just a guy showing you how he mounted his TV
Thank you.
I wish walls in the UK we like pasteboard. My living room is all block and needs serous work to chase cables in :(
New builds have plasterboard in the uk
I bought that same in-wall kit, the mounting kit, a stud finder and painters tape. I'm gonna give this a shot today. Thanks for the tips.
Where did you buy it from please?
How did it go?
overall nice video. I dont think power cable should go into the wall without conduit but other than that neat job
For all the those saying it violates electrical code are wrong. The in wall kit is designed for low voltage cables. The power cord for tv is connected to the kit on the outside
Yes your right but you can run the power cable for the tv in the wall and it will be up to code. Those saying it violates electrical code needs to read the code it was changed in 2014 here it is
www.electricallicenserenewal.com/Electrical-Continuing-Education-Courses/NEC-Content.php?sectionID=111.0
nevertheless power cable is still inside of the wall and it shouldnt be in the wall without conduit or appropriate electrical cable used
Cody!!! Does your landlord know you did this to his apt??? LMAO Nice job man, I'm stealing your idea!
Maybe if you don't want to actually drill holes us.erard.com/
Don't run loose cables down the wall, use a plastic tube! Then, in the future you can add more cables or swap out faulty ones by simply pushing them down the tube?
Im confused is your comment advice or are you asking for some advice?
Why would you need a plastic tube? Why would you ever push a cable? He didn't mention it, but you can bet he left a small string in the wall that you can use to pull more wires.
What is the name of the hide cables kit? Can you make a video about putting the wall patches to hide the holes? Thank you!
Wow that whole process was fascinating. Using painters tape forever now also that wall kit is very neat. I spy Aritzia!!!
Thanks for the video! Helped a lot and your editing skills are 🔥
Thank you!
@@CodyJensen not everyone has cardboard house wt shud I do with brick walls
Now do one with a solid wall 😉
got so happy thinking it was a solid wall and I could skip chasing the wall.. Oh well.
You forgot to show how the power goes from the top to the bottom.
That’s what I was waiting on
Apple tatoo! Bwahahaha!
Hey...I got a cool Apple tattoo... I got a girlfriend...Her name is Sarah....I got cool hipster glasses...I put dope ass electronic hipster music on my vids...I got white walls and white furniture cause I'm all artistic and shit...Got a painting on the wall that is a circle and a square...OK I gotta run...Sarah and I are going to "explore neighborhoods" cause we are super cool...Obviously I am not just a basic dorky guy trying hard to be a hipster. Yo, watch me walking around eating food and shit. I know all the cool pizza joints dude. Cause I'm cultured and artistic!
I’ll be doing this very shortly. The cupboards above and tv install.
You made this very easy to understand. Thank you for the tips.
How come the wall doesn’t have insolation or sound proofing? Great video though. Very interesting.
Watch your music volume level, as it comes in very loud if people adjust to hear your voice 👍 keep both around -3db or so
I love clothes shopping! If you want to ditch Cody and shop with me, I'm available.
Um... nope. Not doing all that.
How do you add hdmi devices like firesticks and chromecasts?
Over complicated.... find a stud sink the screw done
Yes it looks very smart having it on the wall but the work that’s involved is quite intimidating to the average Joe and some people electrical setup/walls really doesn’t comply with it
I’ve seen you before you’re blog on London with your girlfriend.
hi to run the cable, how do you know that there is no horizontal blocking stud.
wall mounted tv's always add a feeling of luxury and less clutter
You guys are awesome, The way you effectively utilize space, finally making a , elegant , beautiful aesthetically designed space to live in. Thank you for such a detailed explanation of the measurements and techniques and process you followed in this video
Thank you!!
Get a laser level. Your studs are over 2” wide all the ones I have ever seen are 1 1/2” wide lol
what if you dont have the furniture below to hide all the mess though
Watching this made me think of an epidural 😂😂😂
Very nice and clean installation. Thanks for the tutorial.
Very easy is you have a drywall.... But how to do with a hard wall
Why do you have the apple logo TATTOOED on you??
I can’t find any type of kits for Uk plug for the power cable any links please
Anyone know of an in-wall kit like that but for a UK plug?
Too bad my walls are made out of fucking brick.
surprised no one has asked yet - do you have a link to the TV mount you used? Looking to get the same one.
I hope you see this comment, but what size was your tv?
Sorry I can't trust anyone with an apple tattoo
This guy never heard of an HDMI splitter, just run 1 HDMI and have a splitter at the end
That is an option if that's the setup you prefer. I prefer my AV setup to eliminate as much complexity as possible where it becomes intuitive enough for a guest to turn on the tv, start a movie, and never have to ask what remote or input or button to press.
How long were the wires and HDMI cables???
Little less conversation little more action chatterbox :)
What camera 📷 you using
Song name? :)
Another cardboard wall lol
Damn this was so cool to watch
I have concrete wall :(
look at the state of that tattoo 🙃
Dude you look like Rick Moranis lol.. not a diss just an observation
good vid. Luv #OCD life.
where is the link for that console below the television?
Thanks! Unfortunately the console is discontinued
Nope ... I have fully concrete walls ... ITALIAN HOMES ARE STILL MADE WITH ACTUAL BRICKS
Wow. Cooool I want that.
that was a waste of two minutes
Nice video!!!!👌👍👍👍👍👍
That electrical power kit is pretty cool! Should save a couple hundred bucks vs. hiring an electrician. If I needed 2 power plugs, would you just hide a small surge protector behind the TV?
How is this install holding up? I have a similar dilemma, I have a single stud down the middle behind the wall, and the 2 to the sides are 24" away from center. Thinking to lag bolt to the middle stud and use anchors or toggle bolts to the sides to dry wall. Aesthetically I think this will look better, but I'm nervous about strength and might go for the plywood board method. TV is a 75" @ ~ 90 lbs.
Nice. Cable management is important to a really clean, finished look.
Amen.
Mate there's no wall insulation in your walls try doing the same thing with 100mm fibreglass insulation with a plastic membraine
Yeah where I live we don't have cardboard wall but solid concrete
Out off all the videos I have seen this is the most easy one to understand thankyou for sharing your video 😊u could be mattchinng a fortune if you did this for a job very clean tidy joob well done must try it cheers
How big is the TV? How high did you mount? Just mounted a 65" yesterday in the living room and went with a 47in center point off the ground to fit the ARC under it. Thoughts?
Great video. This only works in the US tho. In Europe we have houses and apartments made of actuel brick and concrete.
interesting way of doing this. thanks, but i enjoyed the video of the walk around in nyc even more. Thanks for the tips on pizza too!!! :)
Nice tutorial. What length hdmi cables did you use?
Do you get insect or any critters crawling in from the hole gap or space that still remains?
Awesome video. I have a question, where should I drill my whole if I have my main tv wire coming from the left and my HDMI cords coming from the right. Should I drill in the center and meet the cords in the middle, or should I choose a side and feed the cord to that hole ? Also I have a swivel mount on my tv that can tilt as well, what advice do you have on having some slack to give so I am able to pull out and maneuver my tv a little. Also I am planning on purchasing the same tv kit that’s in the video but if there is something that works better that you know of and will make for a easier install feel free to point me in the right direction! Thanks for your time.
If I may ask, how many '/" is between your mid-century TV stand and TV? Do you have any neck problem when watching TV? Thanks in advance. Jah Bless!
Hi. Got to the point of cutting holes. Dropping chords, but dont see them on the other end. Any suggestions
Where did you get that swivel table that you eat on at your couch 🛋 ? Thank you
Cool video. I like your commentary, my man. Thanks.
Nice diy video! In the process of doing the same to my space. What speakers do you have mounted
Great job with the video. Extremely helpful
What did you use to fish the cable behind the wall?
So what if you don't live in a cardboard house?
Only if your walls are made from cardboard.
This video was SO HELPFUL. We were dreading running a new plug and our landlord wasn’t convinced so this will save so much time and hassle.
Very nice 👍🏼
Thanks!
I love that picture with the circle..send me the link for it
If I wasn't renting an apartment I would definitely drill wall gromits like that
How did you mount the speakers and what brand are they?
Very nice tutorial.. I’m gonna get all the items ready and give it a try.. thank you for all the tips.. what store did you buy your console?
Thanks for the video. I did this install after watching. Looks amazing!!!
Thanks for the tips! Great video resource
Your Zimbabwe film was really good!
Where can I find your tv stand? I would love something similar that includes that floating storage above the tv
So clean!!
Jesus Christ, this almost gave me a heart attack.
Thank you Mr. Jensen for this video and the link to where to buy the kit!
No good for brick walls then 😂
I just want song name plz?
Apple logo tattoo? My god ive seen it all...
You are actually a living breathing advertisement for Apple? Sad really...
Tragic
