    very fun video. I am fascinated with dialectic differences from different regions. I studied Spanish at uni and that was the class I actually enjoyed the most. But just because the variant you speak is not the same as that spoken in Oslo doesn't mean it is wrong, just a regional difference. English has a wider range of dialects from Northern Britain to Louisiana but all are English. ☺

      They share roots, but in my opinion German sounds more sophisticated and has a very different intonation. Norwegian has a very singing intonation and some would even say comical. Even the Swedes think we sound happy all the time, also when fighting!

    But Victor, would you and Kenneth for example (because he is even from the Lofoten) write all the same language, like 'proper written Norwegian' or something? In school and everything? But do you write your dialect to friends from the area or your shopping list..? Cheers!

    • @rebekkariseland5509

      Norwegians write bokmål or nynorsk.

    • @jubmelahtes
      @jubmelahtes 7 лет назад +2

      Christian Curre i live in northern Norway and after my experience most of us write in dialect at informal occasions or media like Facebook or other social media. the exceptions are older people. and sometimes we write in a mix of dialects and bokmål/nynorsk

    • @TheRainbowCoach
      @TheRainbowCoach 7 лет назад

      Olav M. Hi Olav! ok, thanks for the addition! Why are older people the exception, do they write everything in dialect or quite on the contrary? Cheers!

    • @jubmelahtes
      @jubmelahtes 7 лет назад +2

      Christian Curre i think older people don't write in dialect because they didn't really get to do it when they where young plus they are more used to writing formal language all day there are exceptions though. But not that long ago people where ashamed of their dialects and hid they they didn't really exist in the media back in time. But now everyone is so proud of their dialect and where they come from that we keep our dialects all the time we write in it an speak it because were proud and mabye to conserve it too. Its just so normal i havent really thought much of it before. Ps. Google translate cant translate it so its pretty safe writing what the fuck we want and foreigners probably won't understand any of it.

    • @TheRainbowCoach
      @TheRainbowCoach 7 лет назад

      Olav M. I think it's a European trend to highlight your dialect and to be proud of your regional dialect. Whereas indeed, our (grand)parents used to be taught that it should be one nationstate and all. Challenge for Google, like that thought! :-)
