Will be interesting in seeing where this goes as geodesic domes have been around for 60+ years. They are cool and futuristic looking, but have never really caught on for a number of reasons.
Great video! I've been following this company for a while as well and it is exciting to see the website turn the corner and start to feature actual models and pricing. Looking forward to 2025!
Living in Northern Virginia where home prices are astronomical this would be an amazing option if I could find a reasonably priced plot of land that was zoned for building. I also love how it's essentially a very modern take on a home versus the same style and design we've used for over 100 years now. Huge perk to not having a traditional roof that needs to be replaced every 20 years as well.
The base of these domes by Geoship is smaller than it would be if the base was the diameter of a circle. If you look closely, the domes bulge a few feet above ground level. It would have been more aesthetically pleasing if it was a true half circle, the way Pacific Domes built their domes. Also, it would have been more spacious.
I love it but that 20" dome, bare bones & its cost?? It's 1/2 the cost of a small house in 2012. Even factoring inflation.. 79,999??? That's completely insane & expensive
Head for the round house, they can't corner us there!
Just needs an Aptera parked next to it.
That's my dream :D
Looks nice! I'll take an Amma, and an attached mini-me dome too.

Very exciting news! Thanks for covering this Raj. I looked a few days ago on their youtube channel, but no new videos.
New video from them today -> x.com/Geoship/status/1825638964381769828

I've been interested in geodesic dome homes ever since I first heard about them in the 70s.

Not sure why they chose that method versus the pure circle footprint of Pacific domes
I would like one of the small ones as a cabin.
Thanks. I'm going to put in a reservation anyway. I even have the perfect spot, right beside my Aptera's parking spot... (#142)
Nice. #282 for Aptera here.
Did you sign up for the Geoship Ambassador program? 🤓
I did :D

Do you have a reservation promo code, Raj? Thier website shows the option.
I'll ask them about it.
Excellent video Raj looking forward to the geodesic domes with Geoship in 2025
