Thanks for this. The combination of Aptera & Geoship is exciting. I signed up for updates on their website and would be interested in forming a community.
Raj, I am so glad to see this. It is a tough sell to help many Americans understand that quality of life is not directly connected to carbon fuel consumption. I had to live overseas in the midst of other, older cultures to learn that adopting a more climate friendly lifestyle didn't have to mean sacrifice. My comment should not be discouraging, but I hope is even a greater incentive to be so involved. Thank you!
Total fan of the Geoship housing stuff, almost a fan of the Aptera , almost. Im waiting for EV makers to move off of lithium/cobalt batteries as the lithium extraction has the danger of destroying groundwater in the Atacama desert, and requires alot of carbon/fossilfuel to extract it. Plus we've all heard the mentions of child labor to extract cobalt. Maybe the GMG battery is better?
@@RajGiandeep I am aware of Rocket Mass heaters. I was also entertaining Straw Bale homes. I am more in favour of heat pumps because I was thinking of solar roof, batteries, rain water harvest ...
@@Soothsayer210 I visited & stayed in a Straw Bale home in Washington state in 2016. Very cool house, was neat how deep the walls are. Very beautiful home. Heat pumps are the future for sure.
Not sure I really see the advantages of a dome house; in the winter I kinda feel like it will look and feel like a igloo. The price isn't unreasonable but a prefab like boxable or other factory prefab probably makes far more practical sense - either way it takes a lot beyond the kit to make a home; land, utilities, foundation and finishings all bring the cost and time up substancially. Space utilization with round spaces is also tricky.
I've wondered about that myself in regards to holding the heat. I stayed in a dome in Idaho & brought my thermal camera to test it. This dome I stayed in has a radiant floor from the hot spring water. The dome had no insulation and the difference on the "walls" of the dome inside 57F and outside it was 23F. Here is the video I did ruclips.net/video/nceU0GCauoU/видео.html That dome I stayed in was a vinyl dome & a very thin wood on the inside. Compared to GeoShip where the heat can stay inside where it's needed due the tight envelope & thick insulation. I feel it will do very well in winter times. Space use in the dome is very different for sure. I have a 3d floor planner I use to think about this more realistically. I sleep on a futon on the floor and fold it up and put against the wall when not in use. So no bed always taking up the room.
Some new footage of GeoShip not shown before. Exclusive to this video!

@@leejanes5111 A GeoShip community sounds amazing to me. Hello potential future neighbor :)

Can't wait!
My father was a geodesic dome home contractor and builder and I lived in one of his first for over a decade!
That's awesome. Do you have photos of what he made?
@@RajGiandeep lots!
@@rngalston would love to see them. dome homes are so cool
That would be cool to live in one!
@@stephenadams9211 That's my dream :)
Very nice Raj. Posted to Reddit r/ApteraMotors.
Raj, you are one mellow dude. I got an education and a meditation simultaneously. Thank you!
Thank you for your kind words.
Very exiting companies. Thank you so much for your research and sharing this information.
Ya, both companies not afraid to build something from the efficient state of mind instead of design based first.

This is my dream, off grid and sustainable. Thanks for this video Raj!
me too :D
Quite amazing pitch at the geodome. They're pragmatic in application for a decent cost
I hope these Geoship houses will also work in harsh Canadian winter weather. Thx. for the video. I will keep an eye open for this.
I believe they will. Structurally very strong too. A rocket mass heater would do wonders to keep the space warm in the cold season.
@@RajGiandeep i was thinking of a Heat Pump. Thx. for the thought though.
@@Soothsayer210 Heat pump is ideal if you have electricity. I mentioned the rocket mass heater if your more in an off-grid situation.

Doing a interview & tour of the prototype dome & the finished interior on May 8th.

Both things you cannot buy. Just promises and wishfull thinking.
