PLEASE do his ‘I’m going upstairs’🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 One chord boogie with more soul than anything on the radio in the last 50 years. That song has so much drive, passion, soul.
Dude you are a great teacher, such enthusiasm about these blues, I see it on your face, got me incredibly motivated and ready to try it. Thanks so much for this!!
Wow, thanks for your comment!
Keep making these great video series that analyze old blues footage, it really is awesome 👍
Will do! Thanks for watching!
Man what a great video. I love these vids where you play the artist and break things down so good it is much easier to understand. Thanks so much and to think the he never could read till the day ne died, could barely spell his name.
I've been watching guitar instructional vids for ~7-8 years min. I love a ton of players/teachers yet you literally came out of no where. You are awesome. Passion is key. Keep it up and much hope for your channel's success...
What a great video. I'm going to work on this!!! Thanks so much for the video.
I think you have one of the top guitar lesson channels out there, and I have watched quite a few over the years. Thanks
Wow! Thanks so much- I really appreciate that! 😀
Gotta' Love JLH! With John Lee there really wasn't anything that one could call strict form, to say the least. Sometimes he would hang on an extra measure with a chord, sometimes he would not. That's the Beauty of JLH! It was ALL about FEEL! More specifically, how HE was FEELING! I don't think he EVER played ANY song the same way TWICE! RIP JLH!!!
Thank you so much, your teaching is fantastic !!!
Your choices of songs for your lessons is just fantastic !!! All that I love and want to play. The best lessons on RUclips currently 👍
An idea for the next breakdown, I’m in´ the mood, or Wlkin’ the boogie 😉
Glad you like them! Ill look at them
You explain what you’re doing very well and clearly man. Enjoy all the videos keep it up 👍
Much appreciated! Thanks for watching and commenting!
A very perfect tutorial! I hope there will be a Boogie Chillen tutorial afterwards, because the guitar tuning for this song looks so complicated!
Thanks, Ill try to get to that one too soon!
Awesome!
Wow, wow, wow ! Realy very great ! Thank you very much !!! ( from France )

Thank you old school camera man and director for lookin out for the next gen
Hell yea man!
👍🇲🇨tx best lesson. Simple n detailised.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! Im glad you like my lessons!
You HAVE to lick your index finger before you do the John Lee Hooker speed strum! Some baby talk, too! It likes it like that!
You mentioned foot tapping, I was thinking about making a percussion device for that to help my timing…some guys here use old license plates even.
This is great to see all the different strumming techniques I’ve not been aware of before.
Tremolo strumming…👍
Trills are a challenging for sure but get better with practice.
I was lucky enough to see John Lee Hooker live in a small venue decades ago and it was amazing.
Thanks for the lesson and the very old movie clip.
Yea thats a cool idea- let me know how that goes!
A bit different from the usual 12 bar blues, but it’s a lot fun to play. Thx
Cool! ✌🏻😎
Thanks ✌
ありがとうございます!楽しいですよ!
This is such a cool lesson. Lee hooker is my favourite. Can you do more of his tracks. like teaching the blues and i need some money. these are one cord songs but your teaching style is great. Is the link to private lessons to connect with you ?
Thanks! Ill check them out but I cant promise Ill get to it soon. Yes the link to private lessons takes you to my website with some info and a calendar with my availability.
I really like this lesson! Will there be tabs for this?
Thanks- The tabs and video are currently uploading on FGA Members portal and will be available in a few minutes.
Can you pleas do a lesson on one of John Lees songs where he does these rambeling arythmic stuff? Like Drifting Blues from the album „hooker blues ohio to miami, fifties and sixties“.
I think this is the essential thing that seperates John Lee from other blues artists of his time. He really done some progressive things. For me I would even say, that this stuff from him is something like early noise music.
There are a lot of songs played like this on the alone LPs.
Ill check it out, but no promises Ill get to it soon. But stay posted and Ill get to it eventually.
You can see that flicking tremolo strum on the video: John Lee Hooker, Eric Clapton and The Rolling Stones: "Boogie Chillen'" Live, 1989. He's a little older there.
Cool, thanks for sharing!
It's based on Rock Me Baby. He also played a lot in open G.
Cool thanks for watching and commenting!
Can you link the video of him playing this ? I couldn’t find it on RUclips
Not sure if this is the same John Lee Hooker video I saw that he did Tupelo and Hobo Blues on too? Would be cool to have a lesson analysis on one of those if you had time? Great videos and lessons on your channel 👍
Thanks- Ill check that video out but no promises that Ill get to it soon
This is the link for the hobo blues one ruclips.net/video/1kQlRQRGdfQ/видео.html
👍👍👍
Please ,What tune is this from?
👍🙂
Anyone know what song this is From??
I like to hear freight train Elizabeth Cotton original please explain with tab thank you very much.
Hi, Ive done a lesson on that- check out my older videos. Thanks for watching and commenting!
You play freight train incorrect from original.I want to hear same sound. When you play guitar Oh baby please don't go from Lightnin hopkin.
What were you saying regarding "Baby please don't go" and lightning Hopkins? How do these relate to "Freight Train"? I haven't heard him play this song by Elizabeth Cotton, but just judging from how he does with the videos that I have seen I feel confident in saying that I bet he played it pretty damn close to the original. If not exactly sounding as she played this I am also sure that the video would allow someone to learn this song that perhaps otherwise would not have due to various reasons whatever they might be. @@weeraugsornpinit9984
Great video and lesson. B7/A is not that odd of a choice there. A is the flat 7 of B. Lots of great players (Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmy Reed, etc.) use this device in their blues shuffles. It avoids a barre chord, but also emphasizes the 7 feel. The 4 is always the flat 7 of the 5 chord in any key and can be very useful in these "one man band" situations, or when the bass player in a trio is going to hit the tonic anyway.
Thanks for watching and sharing!
@@FeedbackGuitarAcademy Thank you for the great content. You are a thoughtful presenter and teacher in this mostly one-way medium. Also great player in your own right.
very good point. How would you advice developing feel for 'bars' when you interchange rhythm and lead that you don't lend to early or too late on I, IV, V chord?
Hey man , get into instructional videos!!! You’ll $$ in!!!!
Does anybody could give me the name of of that Hooker’s song please 🙏
"never get out of these blues alive" @fabientissier1218
@@911aDay 🙏 a lot
Still too fast for me to follow😢
