"..getting better over the past ten years" : Nah. I always had the feeling ..that he is on the top, ..and that since the beginning. Just re-play his early music : perfect ! In my opinion, he is at the real best ..with his own band. The performance on this recording is huge. @mkespace : Thanks a lot for this upload.
Saw Jackie open for Susan Tedeschi at the Fillmore when he was 19.He did a residency open mic at Marilyns in Sacramento and introduced me to many singer songwriters of the area. Sooooo impressed with his talent. I went to Fire on The Mountain in Sonora to see Jackie, was introduced to Joe Bonnamassa when he still had baby fat as well as Paul Thorn and a great Blues party band headed by Shane Dwight. Slow forward to me moving to North Carolina and losing track really.Trigger Hippy at the Handlebar
2nd guitarist is pretty good and sets up Jackie pretty well starting at 49:20, BUT when Jackie takes over the lead, and what follows in that lead...well...is some of the best there is out there right now. Guy is just in the pocket and RIPPING. Stoked there are still guys like this out there.
Opening song, second set, Funky Jam....Is this a Robert Cray song or have I seen Jackie and Robert so many times that their music is starting to meld in my mind.....?
Awesome
Jackie one of the best entertainers to come around in years
I love how Jackie features members of his band during his shows. I have seen him do this many times.

+NBLocal pretty sure thats jackies longtime sidekick Nathan Dale, who is a fantastic guitarist/performer in his own right.
