I’ve been making my way through Halo CE LASO and that reference cracked me up
Just a word of advise for anybody doing this . . . destroy any remaining Ghosts before triggering the wave of seven Sword Elites so they won't mount them (and be able to shoot guns at you). It's just a lot easier to kill them when they have no distance attack.
There's a safe area right under the landing of the stairs to the left of the button.

So, on the part, where you have to press the button and jetpack, I was able to jump under the structure (like in your video) and activate the button, while sitting on the last block/beam and facing the direction of the button and then I just ran back under the structure to the wrath.
You don't have to be right in front of the button, you just have to be close and facing it's direction to activate it.
But yeah, this was a great tutorial! Thanks again.
My dumb@$$ just spent three hours doing this and can you geuss what I accidentally pressed as soon as I got to the lab? The button that ends the mission.
Anyone else cry when you first warp and hear the music, it felt like such a sad farewell seeing all the memories

After you hit the switch and jet pack up there is a ledge to the left at the bottom of the fence that is outside the kill zone. You can recharge jet pack and fly over the fence with ease.
You can use Skulls and still do this achievement
I just got it whilst using the Bandanna and Acrophobia Skulls
No need for a Jetpack, you can just go back the way you came with Acrophobia
Just tried it twice with the acro skull and that shit did not work
@@FuzzyRecKs It worked for me on MCC when I tried it at the time. Are you sure you got back quick enough after you pressed the switch? I haven't played it in months now tbh

When I got here first thing I read was the file on Red VS Blue.
Had to whipe away a few tears and got a big smile on my face when I remember watching this series years ago. Such a shame they shut down
I had to use the safe space right below the catwalk in the corner. Just wait 10 seconds there after you hit the switch and your out of bounds time will reset to 10 seconds again.
FYI MUCH EASIER TO FLIP THE SWITCH BACKWARDS! Jet pack up, stand on the fence that he jumps over in the video, walk off just enough to fall and land right in front of the switch, then go back to the safe zone under the structure, the way he first gets to the switch.
Why am I dying instantly once I go to press the button???
You need to not move too far forward, so once you get out from that 'tunnel', look left and see the switch, just kinda look and move left rather than forward, then get outta there as quick as possible. 10 seconds is loads honestlt

Getting back up after hitting the switch is pretty tricky it will take a dew tries. It seems like the insta kill bounds change a bit.
If you touch the ground in front of the button, you will die. The timer doesn't matter if you hit the ground. So you have to drop off the ledge hit the switch and jetpack up in rapid succession before hitting the ground. This is almost impossible to do with default controller config unless you remap the armor ability button so you can look and use the jetpack at the same time.
Or you can hit the button through the wall if you find the sweat spot, but your out of bounds timer is ticking. There is also a ledge above the button you can land on without being out of bounds.
Figured out how to do this with the jetpack, going to and back instead of going up. Tried it your way and the sprint method but kept getting killed. Also checkpoint saved when I had the jetpack equipped and I didn't want to keep running back to get it. Used the wraith I hijacked to take out the gold sword elites then entered the lab for the achievement. Thanks for the other stuff in the guide :)

at 2:32 if you go in to the corner there is a small spot you can wait in for your timer to reset and if your lucky you may get a check point there. you just have to watch the kill barrier above you when you move out to jet pack up. there also one near the switch to your left when looking at the corner i kept hitting it when turning around from the switch.
*IF YOU DON'T HAVE A WRAITH TO KILL ELITES*
I actually didn't use the wraith to kill the elites. I had the turret on that is closest to the base you are protecting (The turret to the right) and all, I mean ALL of the elites ran over to that turret and tried to kill it, they took forever and I used the grenade launcher on them all around 15-20 times and they all died. Pretty neat way to kill them all while they are bunched up like that.
I HIGHLY recommend going the route he did but once you press the button look at the wall to your left and up. You’ll see a small catwalk. Don’t jump and jet pack. It got me killed every time. Simply look at the catwalk and jet pack to the corner of that catwalk. Then wait 10 seconds and jump over.
Anyone else finding that the switch is not appearing at all? It's gone. 343 must have fucked something up.

Good news. I did it. You have to follow the video movement exactly. The instakill barriers will kill you even if you are slightly adjacent from where the guide shows you to go. Follow the video movement exactly.

hey your guides are fairly helpful but a few of these require too precise timings for me, so I've had to find solutions on my own, which work better. Normally I'd just dislike in silence but this particularly irked me. when you go to press the button, your suggestion is to jump over the two arches, press the button, quickly turn and boost up. but there is a simpler solution. if you boost up to the top of the fence, you meet a guardrail. land on it, and inch forward to the metal walkway. neither are in the out of bounds zone. then jump to the button. you might die once or twice, but it's fairly easy to do. then boost up and back to the walkway. 0 risk of out of bounds. then boost back up to the guardrail, and back down. was about to have an aneurysm using your method.
You are a fucking saint holy shit. Tried the method in the video and was going insane because it feels like the kill barriers just shift wherever they want to. Used your method and got it first try.
Noone in any videos of this achievement that I've seen has noticed or referenced the fact that the achievement name in its own right is an Easter egg

Hey can someone help me out with something?
There's an achievement that the game says I obtained, and that Steam does not.
I checked in-game in the careers menu and it says I have "Generous Tipper" and I have definitely completed all the levels within par time and have "Fast Fall" as well. But Steam just doesn't show "Generous Tipper" as a completed achievement, even though it shows I have "Fast Fall".
I have retried Tip of the Spear and Steam still doesn't give it to me.
TL;DR
I got an achievement that the game says I have but Steam does not. Is there a fix?
I found some forums that say a few of teh achievements are bugged. I'm in the same boat as you; I have Fastv Fall but no Generous Tipper even after 3+ completes under 8 min.
Many achievements are still buggy. I have the same issue with that same achievement.
@@Apeturetech I tried to contact Steam about it but was redirected to 343 Halo support, for which I have sent a ticket that has yet to be replied to. This was 3 days ago
Achievements are also pretty broken between Steam and the Halo Waypoint connection anyways, I've had plenty of achievements that I've cleared with ease that refused to unlock numerous times, like beating Par Time for Tip of the Spear in 9 minutes instead of 15, simply beating the level Exodus and multiple Legendary or Skull campaign completion achievements.
generous tipper is bugged among other achievements. i used steam achievement manager to unlock it though
The button does not spawn for me any idea?
Anyone else not getting the achievement popping up? Obviously, I haven't already gotten it but twice now I have gone I to her lab and nothing. Any tips or tricks fellow gamers?
I haven’t gotten it either redone it twice now and have a save I’m almost wondering if I have to do the whole level

Edit. Just did it from the get go on legendary and nothing. I had 4 skulls on, Catch, Cowbell, Grunt Bday Party, IWHBYD.

The button isn’t there for me
It's only there on Legendary difficulty AFTER you have fought off ALL Enemy Waves. You have to be able to end the mission in order to press it.
does this HAVE to be on Legendary difficulty?

If your doing solo the sprint way is the easiest, I spent almost 2 hours trying to do with the jet pack, found a video with the sprint and did it first try

It needs to be on Legendary and you have to clear all the waves of enemies first.

* UPDATE 2021 *
Apparently they really hate that you figured out how to get the keypad solo. Jet packs DO NOT FLY THAT HIGH. My jet pack couldn’t get above the fence and was very slow to do so.
I used Sprint to get the keypad.
Jump onto the rail
Run to the other edge
Jump down
Hit the keypad
Jump up onto the ledge
RUN
Fluidly jump back onto the battlefield
You have to physically jump over the second ledge in order for the keypad to spawn, it won’t spawn any other way.
Button isn't there. I am on legendary, that's for sure. I've done everything as demonstrated here.
I found it. Apparently I missed a few enemies that were hiding around.

@@Sapphrodite10m unfortunately yeah. Just be thorough when you clean them out. Sometimes you'll get a single guy hiding somewhere weird...
