The "Jar" is a piece of art, it was good to see the X-Tool in use. The box was a bonus, thanks Morgan you have shown us what can be achieved from a simple log. Fantastic post 👍

Such beautiful details and attention to the making of this exquisite piece. The Japanese arts are fascinating to observe, especially in the way the spirit of the artist is expressed through the medium. A wonderful accomplishment.
This is absolutely gorgeous, it is delicately beautiful but still an object that has a purpose and can be used, not just admired. You never cease to amaze us!
Morgan, that is exquisite! I do a bit of turning also. You make it look easy. Knowing that each cut is a one shot deal, without a fall back available… showcases your skill. The beauty of it altogether gives me chills!!! What type of wood was that? The closest native wood that we have here (USA) is Osage Orange. But, it is far too hard to turn with such ease. It will burn up both steel and carbide cutters. Again… it came out exquisite!
Thank you😉 The wood I used is chestnut because this type of wood lends itself well to this project. On the other hand, chestnut is not easy to work with because it is very stringy.
