Nice job on that project! A real backbreaker. Jobs like that require friends but pulling it off solo gives great satisfaction!

Woww! That project turned out very nice! Well thought out & you gave some great tips with the construction technique! By DIY you probably saved $3-5,000 in labor at today's rate! I enjoyed seeing the progression of the build! Keep up the good work Sam!
    Stay Safe!

Great project Sam, the retaining wall tuned out fantastic.👍 What is the purpose of the geogrid mesh and what does it actually do? The drain was a great idea also. Congratulations on your upcoming subscriber milestone.

Thank you! I learned about geogrid by watching Stan Dirt Monkey's channel. It creates a layer that locks the wall into the back-fill material and anchors the wall in place. For that short of a wall, I did not need to use it but since I'm parking several tons of weight next to it, I felt it was a good idea. The drain will definitely help prevent washout and ice build up in the winter. Thanks again!

I thought you were going to take the whole driveway area down some in front of the garage and use that for fill then put a fresh layer of stone over the entire area so it ended up all the same look?

I took it down as far as my box blade would dig and yes, I do still need a layer of fresh gravel to dress it up. Time and money... time and money.

Dish soap on the pipe then that rubber coupling slips right on
