Same here, native Californian and so damn glad I left that dumpster fire of a state years ago. Cali just cant sink fast enough, along the the cancerous progressives with it.
It sucks because so many places in California are genuinely great places to live. Politicians like Gavin Newsom are a huge part of the reason why California is laughed at by other state in the union. A lot of us are just born into this crap (my brother and I for example), and so many Californians have been beaten inti submission to this. I don't want to stick to being a pessimist, but California has little to no options to fix this infinite shit show.

While I'm probably one of your more liberal viewers (though I definitely don't call myself one, especially when it comes to social politics), I often find myself in agreement with many of your statements. Especially this particular bit on California. I grew up mostly in Colorado. 5 years ago, when I was 21, I bought a house here for 140K. It was an older house in not the best part of town, but there's never really been much of a ghetto here. I ended up having to sell not long after I bought it. That house's value now? 230K. That's a 90,000 dollar increase over FIVE YEARS.Californians have moved en masse to our state and tinged us from purple to Blue. Denver is filled with "transplants". Even my more conversative Colorado Springs has begun to shift blue. Our traffic and roads have gotten increasingly worse. I can't even drive to Denver in an hour anymore. We've got a fucking useless toll road being put in along I-25 rather than making it four lanes with one toll road from the current two lanes in each direction.
Native Coloradoans are absolutely sick of Californians. They are destroying our housing market and our infrastructure while trying to prop up useless taxes that never go away. We have a housing shortage. We have a great concern for how we're going to supply water to the increasing population of domestic immigrants. Colorado was quiet, beautiful and politically purple. They're trying to Californicate our Colorado.
Moderate positions and policies don't work. They must be completely conservative. Including social customs and morality.

@Tim McNamee Tim McNamee i have family just outside Fresno, and I used to have family in Visalia. Based on my exposure fron visits in years past, I mostly liked the people there, long-time American or otherwise, not that any of thay registered at that age. For better or worse, suffice it to say that the church that my grandpa used to pastor in Visalia had to have an English-speaking congregation and a Spanish-speaking congregation, and at least from what I've heard, most of the inter-community conflict that caused the most fireworks came from the Spanish speakers. I learned from a young age not to over-generalize everyone from south of the Rio Grande, because a lot of the drama came from Mexicans, Guatamalans and Salvadorans having to learn how to get along in a shared community. Even the Guatamalan assistant pastor had to check his own ingrained prejudices toward the Mexicans. Interestingly enough, my biggest and earliest personal exposure to the idea of overt racism wasn't between black and white Americans, but rather between different Latin American groups toward one another. A lot of them were really friendly and loving people when the chips were down, certainly in one-on-one interactions, but it doesn't change the fact that most of the conflict I heard about was inter-cultural and based on deeply ingrained group feuds and prejudices

Colorado here, I can attest to everything you said about Californians moving here. Ever since we legalized weed they’ve been moving here in droves. Traffic has gotten worse, they keep trying to legalize actually dangerous drugs, and the homeless population has skyrocketed along with the cost of living.
The worse part about California is that its citizens leave and spread their BS to other states, turning them purple and then blue.
Other states should have rules against newly arrived citizens voting. A six month moratorium.

I would say the seeds were planted before 1900, with the founding of "free" government schooling for all. It starts when those who desire power realize that promising "free" stuff is the easiest way to get it. Demand the authority to "help" and fools will give it to you. It snowballs from there. We were warned about this by the very people that wrote our Constitution and by many others since then.
My mom moved to the US from Hungary in the 80's and brought us kids with, I wish we had stayed in Hungary. Or she left me in Hungary lol! I'm not knocking the US as far as what it once was and I realize that's why my mom wanted to come here, but by the 80's it was already heavily socialist and lots of brainwashing on the young in the public schools and on tv.

I like Spoonclank (or Earth 2 Razorfist, as I prefer to call him) but Razor's content is far better produced, and higher quality. Plus, he has the thing that brought me here in the first place - brilliant film and TV Reviews, DS9, Film Noir and Metal Mythos.
The trick is to get Californians to vote for Calexit. It makes it a hell of a lot harder for them to move out if that becomes the case.

I live in Colorado and my coworkers and I said one of the most annoying sounds in the world is "Hey! I just moved here from California." One of them even said we need to build a wall around Colorado. The traffic out here gets bad and there are so many accidents that having a normal drive home makes you subconsciously let out a sigh of relief. Don't even get me started on the brewing political climate (while not as bad as California or Portland, I worry things can get pretty tense)

To point out, this is one of the prime reasons for the right to bear arms. Personally I think not only should the judge be able to hang in our political systems, but that politicians buying votes should too. Unless you are willing to actually take your ammo, load it in your firearms, and march onto the state capital with a declaration of "Liberty or Death" they will always be able to take your rights away.

Ironically, I moved back to California just before the crash. Seattle was doing poorly at the time. One of the worst moves I ever made. Got out again. There is not one satisfied customer in California.
6th largest economy in the world sounds impressive until you find out that they used to be FOURTH. Texas thanks California for the numerous large companies that have transferred there, including their tax paying employees who transferred by the many, many thousands, yearly.
If you haven't noticed, pre-Coronavirus Communist China and India both have had their economies grow which caused them to rise in the GDP totals. Both have over 1 billion people in them vs about 40 million legal residents in California. California never achieved FOURTH; it achieved FIFTH due to the UK's economy dropping due their entrenched political class and the mass media provoking hysteria over Brexit. Texas and Nevada both have fueled their economies by not taxing corporations in order to lure California businesses there and then turn around and beg the Feds for increased Federal funding to make up for their refusal to tax themselves properly. It's just like what the Republic of Ireland has done to the pre-Brexit United Kingdom's businesses via the European Union for 4 decades. The liberal political class in California is detrimental enough to the State's finances without also having to deal with external leeches like Nevada and Texas added to the equation.

Luke Stover the short version is that we have similar politicians to California in terms of spending, but we don’t put in enough taxes to cover the greedy state and national unions as well as the pensioners. It’s a shitshow.

As a native resident of Colorado, I can tell you how bad California immagration is first hand. It's gotten so bad, that a third-rate, rat infested apartment will cost you anywhere between 900-1500 dollars a month in rent in Aurora, and in Denver it's far worse.

The legislature has had a democratic supermajority most of my life, so even local politics with a decent person is pointless because they literally can't do anything in sacramento.

The issue is that there's the same number of conservatives and libertarians there always was before like the 70's (remember CA was a _very_ red state back then), but the sheer numbers of carpetbaggers that moved into the big cities makes anything other than super liberal democrats impossible. And generally makes everyone else's lives hell. Though fwiw, the recent power shutdown of half the state due to incompetence ('coincidentally' a more conservative half) is going to rile up some people. Nothing that can make a difference in a statewide election, but the state of Jefferson guys will probably be out again. Some conservative people have fled, but they're probably vastly outnumbered by the carpetbaggers fleeing their own mess.

damnit. I was planning on moving out of california soon, but the states I was most likely going to move to are now overrun with the dickheads I am trying to get away from.
This is perfect timing, as I've experienced some California Nightmaring today.
I was planning to legally upgrade my cars engine using CARB legal parts very soon, until I spoke to my mechanic today. In order to upgrade your engine components, you need to get a new tune profile or the engine will run inefficiently and fail. The problem is, even if you meet the emissions standards by having a larger (non factory) tune profile, you'll instantly fail the smog, receive a hefty fine and possibly have your car seized.
Then they start pressing you to narc on the shop that did the work, and IF YOU DO NOT, they slap *YOU* with the ten thousand dollar fine the shop would've gotten. If you try to circumvent this by finding a liberty minded smog shop, and they get busted, CARB will come in, secret police style and dig through TWO. YEARS. of records, calling back any and all "suspicious tests" for immediate retesting.
