This coin can be found with three mint-marks, which are seen behind Washington's hair: D for Denver, P for Philadelphia, and S for San Francisco. If it has no mint-mark, then it was made at Philadelphia.

sir I have a 1973 no mint mark with the same markings on the obverse and on the reverse as you do I believe it's an air coin what should we do
I have just found one too!! All jacked up it’s warped and the letters are smashed like that mines super warped where do I got to have it appraised
I have this exact coin but there are no ridges on the silvery side their are like imprints of were the ridges should have been but otherwise it is totally smooth would this coin be worth anything?
Probably Not. These coins are often used for soda machines and laundry machines and parking meters which cause the rims to wear down. Not real market for them without ridges.
I just found a 1990 d quarter that looks like yours but much worse and it has several lamination errors on it and chunks of metal on the one I just found.
I want to mention to you that because you you haven't seen a 1973 quarter like the one you have...Well, the one I have, that I recently added to my collection, is just like yours. 😁 The edges are the same only my letters are the edge. And on the front the line that follows the edge around on yours, I have the same only mine are a little smaller in length. The only difference is mine has a dot behind the pony tail that looks like a mini mint mark D. So when you have a minute, please let me know what you think? I Thank you for all the very thorough information you provide. Also I too have kept other coins of different denomination and year that have the half moon circles following the edge of the coin.

I have a 1973 & a 1980 USA quaters. Please advise of values.
I wrote sometime ago expressing appreciation your presentation, but have recieved no reply. Anyway after relooking carefully of my coins(1973 & 1980) quaters, I notice two errors on 1973 coin 1. The word Dollar appears from direct look spelt like Lollar and not Dollar.. 2. The end of ponytail of George Washington has no mark like 1980 coin with letters P, D or a Dot. Please advise if the 1973 coin is of any value. I'm from Papua New Guinea and will try and take photo of the coin with a proper camera. My mobile phone photo don't appear properly... Looking forward for a reply. God bless

I have a 1973 quarter, circulated, that has no rim on top or bottom but has the little marks all around the outside edges. What do you think about this coin? It's it a minting error? If so, would that error add value?

Not trying to sound like an ahole or a know it all, but it's like one of the first things you learn about coins when collecting. like kinder level equivalent if there were grades to graduate from in numismatics collecting. You happen to be correct about the mint location of this coin, however, mint marks have not been on the reverse side of quarters since 1964. this is a 1973 quarter. the mint mark would have been on the front just to the right of Washington's head next to his pony tail, as they are on all quarters minted in the years 1965 - present, and minted in Denver(D) or San Francisco(s). Since this was minted in Philadelphia there is no mint mark as you've stated correctly.
