A nice overview and tips. Seem few videos break it down as yours. Just did a wash out of our old(30+y) tank. Salt bridges, some dirt and rust It's all flushed and ready for the cleaner from Lowes. Used a fountain pump to drain/filter water. Running about $18 US for the 2 treatment bottle. I thank you!
Thanks for sharing. I have a rheem water softener. My salt still half full but the clean light is on. Should I pour the water softener cleaner or I should wait till the salt goes really low. Please advise. Thanks
Thanks for the video. I have a question as after watching you, I just bought that bottle from Canadiantire yesterday and pour it into the brine well, after 2 times of recharge, I still saw the blue chemical in my salt tank and blue liquid in the brine well, I decided to recharge for the 3rd time but colour light blue still be there. Is this normal and it keep for next few recharge or is it not normal? My brand is Premier AF-40K bought from Costco and I not ever having experience in this cleanser, what I should do now. Thanks for help!
Thanks for the video. My contractor who installed the softener for me telling me that I need to move the bypass to stop the flow of the water before I press the recharge button. However, it seems that it didn't work. You and another youtuber didn't mention to move the bypass before recharging. My model is Whirlpool WHES30 30,000. Pls advise if I need or do not need to move the bypass. Tks
I have the same setup with the media tank inside the brine tank. I noticed your media tank is clear on the outside while mine is orangish and sticky on the outside can i wipe it down and clean it with dish soap?
Hi guys! I have a question on water softeners. My softener ran out of salt for an extended period and after replacing the salt, it doesn't appear to be doing it's job (plumber did a hardness test). My question is could my softener be under suction and not moving water, since it didn't have salt for a while? Is there any remedies you know of I should be trying before replacing it?

You are correct; the instructions under the lid say nothing about how to do this important procedure.
Great job getting it done! I wish more of my customers would do this
Hi Karl 😊 What do you do ?
@@GettingItDoneRepairs I am a plumber. Excellent job with the video. You did exactly what I would’ve done.
@@karlsoffthegrid1378 I didn't know that. Awesome.

It's a reminder message to do it soon. You can add the cleaner anytime

This may sound dumb but after regeneration of softener is it safe to drink, cook, and shower? Do I need to run X amount of water first?
Totally safe, you're good to go!
Nice job. Merry Christmas to Y'all and God Bless. ❤️ 🎄
Merry Christmas 🎄
Great work!

Thanks! You too!
Can you use the cleanser when the tank has no salt?

Very helpful! Thank you
You're welcome 😊
Thanks for the video. I have the same water softener and it appeared an E with 3 arrows around it. Do you know what that menas?
Or use 1 cup iron out to 1/2 gallon water. Then pour. Much cheaper
So true!
I use organic Citric Acid from Amazon. Works great and it's even cheaper.
I am in Alberta. How does one know if they have soft water?
you will feel a bit slimy 😆
You don’t have calcium build up in your kettle

I am in the exact same boat as you right now.. 😭
Not sure. I have a few videos on this water softener, maybe one can help
I would run the cleaner through than do a regular cycle again. Clean the screen. Should be good after that
can you use water while that is happening?
No
