Thanks for the help. I did everything that you did and everything seem to be in good order and actually the Venturi and all of the electronics look really new I’ve busted several salt bridges before but for some reason the last few months, the salt level has not gone down at all. I just did all this and recharged it so wish me luck. Thanks again.

Thanks for I have the same model and it is 8 years old so know how to trouble shot now. I always used the condition made by Whirlpool when machine flash for it so this may have helped with the longevity of my machine. In a few year it just may be better to replace with the same model for I paid $279 on sale for in in 2014.

My brine well broke at the bottom. It must have happened one of the times I was trying to break a salt bridge. If you push a broom stick down though the salt, it will push surrounding salt away breaking the well. Make sure you stay away from the well.

Great video. I have the same unit and have resin beads blocking the intake to my washing machine. Where is the resin located? How would they escape their vessel?

This video was so helpful! Question: what did you do with the "old" salt you took out of the tank? How did you dispose of it?

Are you on a well? Maybe your pump isn't drawing enough water from the well or maybe the water pressure tank is having issues. Just a couple thoughts...

I have the same water softener as you showed in the video but don’t know what hardness level to set it at. Can you help me know where that should be and how to schedule the regenerations please?

We have the Whirlpool WHES40 and live in FL which generally has hard water. We hooked it up and set it on 25. The water is testing very soft. It is set on 30 and we have moved it up to the other end of the scale. How long do we need to wait before testing again?

My Whirlpool water softener worked great for 9 yrs. Then I started getting a lot of white buildup on my plumbing fixtures (faucets, etc.) I had my water softener tank and brine well cleaned and the medium (beads) dumped and replaced with new. Unfortunately, I am still getting the white build up on my faucets 3 months later. The water tests ok (soft) and I have recharged the water softener three times (with cleaner) but it still keeps happening. What is the problem?

when its running if i shine a light down in the float tube i never see water level more than about an inch and it doesnt even get near to even touching float, my question is how much water is the tank suppose to have in it during charging, their site says it cycles 35-65 gallons i think and im never seeing more than like 1 gallon, of course we got hard water and it not working its only like a year old, i cleaned all the stuff in your videos, is there a valve or filter that needs cleaned where the water comes in on the solenoid looking things in the center?

@@mikejohnson601 thanks for the reply, i was under the mindset that the water fills till the float stops it, but if i understand right now if the system is working properly the float is never used. my level was about the same as yours and everything seems to be working ok now, thanks again

8:36 what happens next? Did you put water and then salt back in and then regenerate? Or while it was completely empty, you had it regenerate, then when it was done you put more salt in? Could you tell me? I’m at that step with my Kenmore, and I’m not sure the next step. Thanks

Whirlpool WHES40 Water Softener: Yea so I'm going continue the saga right here for some to see. I purchased some silicone lubricant, (plumbers grease), pulled the bypass assembly out, cleaned the ends and inside, re-lubricated the o-rings as expected on this brand new Whirlpool Water Softener. Still leaked. Swapped the o-rings left to right and re-lubed again. Still leaked same side. Called customer service and a nice guy named Daniel said that he would send out a new bypass assembly with the necessary clips and o-rings included. He said that some of the specs were a little bit off sometimes on these bypass assemblies. So now we're down to making "lemonade", it seems, out of "lemons". Now IF the specs are right on the bypass replacement but somehow not on the receiving end......you know where this will go!

Do you know if you have to use the pellets with this softener? Or can you also use crystals?

    • @GettingItDoneRepairs

either will work but I try to always use pellets. I heard they were better

Has anyone ever considered placing some pea gravel in the bottom so the salt sits on top, but the gravel is porous enough to allow the salt water to go through?

    • @Bigsmegma44
      @Bigsmegma44 9 месяцев назад

That’s not a good idea. The salt will collect in and around the Gravel and harden in time. It could actually keep your system from working correctly.
If you’re trying to remove the salt for cleaning. Just add more water. But make sure you don’t go above the Brine Tank Overflow Valve. Typically one is on the outside. Leave the water in for 2 to 4 hours. Then use a broom handle to loosen the remaining salt clumps. Once you get everything cleaned out. Just add some new salt. Then do a Regen to get it working again. Good luck

With all the work you did why didn't you spend another10 minutes utes to hose out the inside of the tank and use a shop vacuum to remove the water after cleaning
