There's a point system in FIBA that's why they play til the end, more points you score, the higher PD you have and will give you a higher ranking if you tied with another team (For those asking why FIBA games are played til the end with 100% effort)
that last shot is still GAME becuase of the quotient systems for the OLympic Qualifiers Tournament. to guarantee as TOP Team in ASia that doesnt qualify automatically. Japan is the qualifier by winning 3 games , and Philippines got to quality for Olympic Qualifiers Tournament.
The unwritten rule doesn't work in FIBA because it's quotient system, specially on that game, it's for the Olympics. I think we are tied with Japan during that time so PH needs to win with big margin.
