I had a gh2 back in the day and the 17.5 was my go to! Really miss that lens and setup. Seeing the gh7 makes me want to dive back into it and get those voigtlanders again!
I do like the full frame. I think a prime scenario to be in is to have a full frame camera, and another camera with a smaller sensor. Studio product work for motion is particularly nice on smaller sensors, as you often times need to match the stills campaigns and have everything in focus. I still see major campaigns where the motion of the products has way shallower DOF than the stills.. something I would never allow to happen 😉
Great video mate (as always)! As an alexa mini owner i was definitely intrigued about this. The greens and red tones are significantly different and definitely don't have the feel of an Alexa. Good for those on a really tight budget though.
Yeah the price is great for sure. Maybe they will update the firmware? From extremely quick matching as mentioned, I felt that the image was promising and had potential though.
Overall it seems like a disappointment tbh. It looked almost funnily like exactly what a Panasonic hater would think itd turn out like. The Gh7 is a fun little beast it seems though. My main belief is that M43 really should lean into longer focal length looks as an advantage, not a downside. I'd love to see more 100-200m equivalent lenses released on M43. I'd love to see what size a M43 100mm F1.4 would be for example, being equivalent of 200m F2.8 full frame. F2.8 FF looks are easily shallow enough, and the ease of a longer focal look with the m43 sensor is appealing. I know it wouldnt be tiny, but the Sigma 56mm 1.4 aspc lens shows interesting things could be done with a smaller image circle on the backend.
I agree with you. M4/3 is definitely a great sensor to get zoomed in with smaller lenses. Even wider smaller lenses. If I had one camera, it’d be full frame.. maybe s35. But a second camera I’m fine with m4/3. I just bought an og bmpcc :)
that little montage of heading to bnh is cool. im from Australia and i dont get out much but i went to manhatten in 2018 and I went to the bnh store. it was cool in a very camera nerd way. good memories 😊
@@BlaineWestropp1 yeah Manhatten in a phenomenal place. It's where I cut my teeth driving on the "wrong side of the road" ;) definitely will get back there sometime. I think the full tour thing is a great idea. Should be a no-brainer to sponsor that.
@@BlaineWestropp1 one thing I was hoping to know is what the difference is in shooting log c natively on the gh7 vs shooting vlog and then changing the log profile to log c in resolve. Are they the same? Do I need to spend $200 on something I could change in post?
Awesome test. It's pretty clear how much better the Arri renders skintones. The arri log c in the gh7 doesn't bring it in the arri ballpark, which makes me think if it's even easier to match the log c vs the regular v-log
But isn't it clear by definition that a log profile will not change the color science? Isn't it just a gamma curve? Why do people expect to get Arri color science by using LogC on a Lumix? That would be insane. Great video!
Between every Panasonic cameras I own including the GH5,GH6,G9II, S1,S5 and S5II, the GH6 has the more pleasing colors. I think the G9II is a downgrade about color science, and the GH7 looks mostly the same than the G9II. Now when I have the choice to use either my GH6 or G9II, I mostly use the GH6 everytime I can, I never use AF-C with most resolution and frame rates and I only use AF-S. But the G9II is very interesting for run and gun since the IBIS and the AF are better. However, I'm not super excited by the GH7 mainly because of the color science and because the G9II is very similar. This Arri logc on the GH7 seems interesting, but I think you can get very similar look using V-log with some extra work.
@@BlaineWestropp1 They don't have the same color science, the GH7 is much closer than the G9II for colors, Skin tones on the GH6 are in my opinion nicer. I think the GH7 looks more like an upgraded G9II.
I know you said you were going to do a video on Apple log, but filming yourself in the mirror is pretty cheeky. 😂 I enjoy watching your journey with film, camera, lens, and explaining your experiences. 👍🏻
GH7 looks great! You can see in low light the skin tones don't maintain all tonality and cleanness as much as the alexa sensor, but it's quite close. It's an excellent B or C-cam. If Lumix licence the LogC onto their next FF sensor... now it'll be veeeeeeery interesting to see, since the DR will be much closer.
Thanks for testing. As you discussed, it is more saturated, and reddish hues in the skin tones, where the alexa leans neutral / green. Of course as you suggest, all if this can be worked out. Id be intrigued to see "native" arri log c in the GH6 (via key) vs. Cinematch or Cinematch in the GH7 (if they ever get around to profiling it.)
I’d be interested to see that too! Definitely more red in the skin. Nothing that can’t be worked out in resolve. I won’t if Panasonic will tune this a little
@@BlaineWestropp1 I use Sony and Slog can be adjusted (as you know) saturation, color phase, depth etc. How is it with GH7 Clog, is it possible to adjust something or does everything have to be worked out in post?
Love your content bro & linking up with patrick made this top tier youtube video, although I noticed something... you kind of look like Ben Affleck lol
Unfortunately, it's just a marketing thing and the red skin tones after CST bring back the cheap consumer camera look... The work you put in matching the two cameras is pretty much the same when shooting in V-Log, so no added benefit.

agree, also the size of the photosites on a micro 4/3 compared to the huge photosites of the alexa makes it really difficult to match.
My hope was that when I looked at the footage in resolve I would have the same feeling of “F yes” that I feel when looking at Alexa footage. When I put the Lut on and it looked so different, I considered not testing any further. But when I did go a little further, I felt that the camera does look good, but you’re right, that can be said about any camera. I didn’t spend too much time on any grading, and when I rewatch this video I do think the footage looks nice, and feels good when not seeing side by side, like the roof stuff. I’m wondering if it’s a beta firmware (I don’t know, I’m not connected to Panasonic/lumix in any way). Maybe they will improve it so it’s a better match with just the Lut.
@@BlaineWestropp1 Hard to tell after all the jerking around to get it from the live scene to my monitor screen, but mainly I just saw a saturation difference. There was a bit of contrast too, but from Arri's reputation, that sounds within camera + lens variations. Actually, changing lenses alone can make that much contrast difference. But maybe after weeks of use, you might find it a more significant advantage.

@@BlaineWestropp1 i assume you were cropping the alexa to get the same fov from both cameras but even then alexa is capturing way more light, an fx3 or a7s series can get closer to the arri look because of the simmilarities of some of the sensor characteristics, specially the size of the well.
I agree with the comment you replied to, but your comment is a load of rubbish. Look into the starvis 2 or imx585 sensor used in the upcoming cinepi. You'll throw your words out the window
Try throwing the V Log footage through a CST and convert it to LogC3 and compare it with the LogC3 straight out of the camera. When I saw LogC3 as a feature my immediate guess was that it's purely marketing hype and the equivalent of a CST performed in camera and that's what it appears to be.
Well that would be a huge disappointment since Panasonic has clearly stated several times that ARRI themselves mapped the GH7 sensor down to matrix level to get as close a match as possible sensor differences with regard to DR and pixel density notwithstanding.
yep. the logc in the gh7 is very interesting, and it has great image stabilization. sony wins on autofocus, though I really didn't test gh7 auto focus beyond one or 2 shots and it seemed fine.
Have you tried emotive-color luts for Slog3? It's supposed to put you in the ballpark of Arri color science. Regardless, i love it and the pleasing colors it produces. I've used the same lut formatted for V-Log Gh5 for a client shoot with FX3 & GH5, matched really well after some grading and the skintones looked great as well! Great vid, thanks for this, I love my GH5, this makes me want to use it more again. Handheld footage with IBIS is just top tier.
Nice vid! Do you mind sharing a couple files, of log c3? Kind of curious how easy they are to match, I use final cut. Just based on the few comparisons it seems the gh7 is more saturated and underexposed. Also from what I hear to match quality, ISO has to be 320 on the gh7 and 800 on the alexa, ( the base of both in Log C ). If I heard correctly, you shot in 800 on the gh7 with a 2 stop difference on the lens to match depth of field. Vlog files would be appreciated as well to compare if a camera profile matching would get anywhere to a similar result.
I just experienced all of the good qualities of a Casey neistat video…but in a new, refreshed way, that feels very genuinely you. You are onto something, Blaine!
This is the video I was waiting for! I still shoot stuff on the GH5 and I'm considering upgrading to the GH7. I've seen some footage of camera reviewers that didn't impress me though do to the digital look they had in some standard picture profiles. So I've been asking me if that will be the case when shooting in V-Log or Log c3? Waiting for your answer ..Subscribed!
Hey thanks! Can you shoot vlog on the gh5? One thing that is really great on the GH7 is the image stabilization if you’re interested in that. Also, the image does look good. My tests here were non cinematic tests.. so you can definitely make great images with the gh7!
@@BlaineWestropp1 thanks for the answer! Yes I shoot a lot in V-Log on the GH5. Actually in the gh5 it's an (V-Log Little version) and not v-log. I don't even know where the difference is, I can't find any related comparison videos on RUclips. Anyways :) For me it's a great upgrade from the GH5. Thanks for your tests!
@@kenslyder In the highlights from what I understand. The v-log light is for their cameras with less dynamic range and the regular v-log was originally made for the Varicam cinema camera range and later used for the S series cameras. This is why I don't quite understand using c-log for micro four thirds since it was made for the amazing dynamic range of the Alexa. But they must have made some changes to make it work I guess, maybe it's a kind of c-log light like the v-log light.
Probably the best video of the GH7 yet. Is there a better/brighter glass to use for even nicer DOF ? How would you rank this against thr XH2s ? (With the arri log its the same price)
thank you! yes there is definitely better brighter glass. for this test I needed something that worked on FF and m4/3. I have not ever used an XH2s, but I would like to try it out some time!

Vlog files would be appreciated as well to compare if a camera profile matching would get anywhere to a similar result.
When you were matching to FX3, wouldn’t it have been easier to do a CST sLog3 to LogC3, and then match look? Which brings us back to the GH7- do you feel that an internal color space is important (paid extra in this case) when we can do a CST on any camera? My thinking is that the sensors and codecs are a bigger factor? It’d be cool to see a handful of the camera mentioned in comments all side by side in same color space, be it LogC or DWG, to 709, and then further using a film emulation plugin like Dehancer or Look Designer 🤓
For FX3, yea you could use a CST. CSTs mostly just make the controls in resolve feel the same from camera to camera. A CST from slog3 to logc won’t make a Sony look like an Alexa for example. But yes, it could aid in matching the two. I have been working on a film emulation for a while now that comes out July 1. There will also be some camera matching profiles that will also come out on July 1, or shortly after. For the GH7, if I had one I’d get the log C I think, but I need to do some further testing. It is also technically not out yet, so things could change and get better.
@@BlaineWestropp1 Sorry bro, I think I had a false memory. I thought I have seen they say they use Arri LogC3 on their web page. But I checked the web page and web site documentation back to 2023 they haven't said it. My bad.
freaaaaking interesting. Arri kills. damn near every time. except that bathroom model shot, super green or weird yellow thing happening. thought the gh7 looked a tad better. this test really shows just how saturated the FX and gh7 sensors really are.
Absolutely great question. I’m really not sure. I’ve shot a bunch with the c70 next to Alexa and have a great match for them, same for FX3. This was my first time using a lumix camera so I’d need to test more. I love BMD cameras for their simple menu. The BMCC 6K FF sensor is of course extremely similar in size to the Alexa, and the colors are great. But to really know which colors match the most I’d have to have all 4 in the same room. It’s a tough one.
When Panasonic didn't add PD AF to the GH6 it had banding issues, base iso of 2000, they force many people to either move to Sony, Canon, or Black Magic. Sadly even though they fixed all those issues in the GH7 and its a nice camera I can't justify the expense of switching back. The GH4 and GH5 were the best choice for budget cinema but unfortunately the space has become very crowded and competitive.
GH6 has a base of 2000? I didn't know that. feel you on moving back to m43. I think having a ff sensor is wise. with a ff sensor you can shoot any format, which I like.
@@BlaineWestropp1 Only in V-log with DR BOOST ON, you can't go lower than ISO 2000 if you enable DR BOOST in V-log on the GH6. However, the noise performance is slightly better at ISO 2000 on the GH6 (with DR BOOST) over the G9II (and probably the GH7 too).
Currently there isn’t anything that would make me not choose an Alexa on any project that could support it. Who knows where we will go.. I mean special video could be the next thing and Blackmagic and apple are already hard at work on that. We will see. But.. of all cameras I’ve ever used, I have not had a smoother/happier time on anything like I do on the Alexa. It is perfectly designed, with an incredible look. I did have a good time with the red scarlet-w as well. Love that camera. May need to buy one again. I like the usability of a camera, the simplicity, just as much as the image quality, and a lot of cameras are just clunky to use in my opinion.
@@BlaineWestropp1 Yes, do you feel camera brands are getting closer and closer to Cinema cameras? Do you feel they are feeling the pressure? They must be. Thanks for the post. Good work
Let me check and report back. I can’t remember which iso I used in the edit. I think the bottles were 800 and the model was 320 but I may have brought up the exposure on the gh7. I have the tags in resolve so tomorrow I will check! If I don’t get back to you, remind me!
just a thought. But with the whole Davinci not supporting proress raw and Blackmagic joining the L mount. Curious why they would not go with proress 4444 12 bit instead?I see everyone is saying why not Braw but that is blackmagics thing... So proress 4444 makes sense...Thoughts?
@@BlaineWestropp1 That does make perfect sense yeah.. I get that the CFexpress cards can handle the data rates but some guy at panasonic like us probably knows that storage is not free..And answering my own questions here but I get why they did not go with the USB 4 route which has 40Gbps transfer rate as well then. That would cause storage problems for one and make the gh body cost closer to 6000 USD not to mention and im not to sure how reliable the new usb 4 SSD's are and if the bodies would be able to handled that compute power without overheating even with a fan
Hi, Question maybe the saturation is to do with the fact that probably Resolve or FCP interpret the GH7 footage ProRes HQ as Video data range and it schould be full data which you need to change manually in resolve?
hmm I think I was viewing non adjusted footage directly off the camera. unless there is a specific issue with the GH7 specifically where resolve doesn't show it properly, but I have never had that issue with any footage ever in resolve in the past 10 years.
@@BlaineWestropp1 it is commun when you record on the S5iix prores HQ the data level are interpreted wrongly as Video data range in resolve (I am working with Lumix since 3 years with Resolve)...you need to adjust it manually...same as if you record prores over HDMI with Atoms Ninja V... Ed Prosser an English RUclipsr had the same problem as well with saturation puting the clip to Full data will solve a lot of problems for matching clips... Lumix record if you specify full data range and resolve can not reed the metada from prores files...I think if you switch the clip attributes to full data range in GH7 the saturation or better to say the contrast apparent on GH7 prores HQ will go away and it will be much closer to your Alexa
@@BlaineWestropp1 Can you maybe contact your fellow RUclipsrs friends (maybe Patrick Tomaso knows about it but I am not sure) which are trying GH7 because I am wondering they will judge the footage wrongly just because they don't know about this problem which is easily fixed...this knowledge is even in the Lumix Resolve community not very popular thx in advance Fil
actually upon further testing this may not be the fix. as you can change any clip in resolve to full and it just flattens it out. we shot 422 on the GH7. not HQ. so while it does make it seem closer, I dont know if this is the right move. but I am not certain.
Even on my smartphone (not even in full screen), I can clearly see the difference 😅..To be honest I can match the colors to the Alexa with almost any modern cameras. What I can’t do tho, is match the texture, dynamic range and highlight roll off the Alexa
I can do the matches as well. Texture, DR, highlights, I think are a sensor to sensor thing, which is fine. I need to do some more tests with the GH7, but even after posting this and looking more at the video… I do think it looks nice.
What format did you film the Gh7 footage in? The reason why I ask is that Arri log is designed for Apple ProRes 422 or 422Hq. It is acceptable to use in All I but if your going to use long gop just know it’s not acceptable!
Your video was great and well needed. The Gh7 is a beast of a camera and has mega potential especially because of the size. I just see the Magenta and Green is slightly different compared to the Alexa.
Sorry I mean native log (instead arrilogc). So for example doing cst on the Sony to go from slog3->arrilogc->709. Fundamentally isn’t this what’s happening under the hood?
@@BlaineWestropp1 wonder if its just the color sciense or maybe a IR filter issue thing, It kind of make a persons skin look worse and you often see this on cheaper cameras. Maybe playing with the Hue - Sat curve could reduce it
Confused why you guys did not use the Alexa Mini which has the same look depth wise and instead the LF which looks quite different to compare this? Old minis are super cheap now to rent.
We used the LF bc I have an LF. We used the full sensor just to keep the resolution as close as possible between cameras. Even if we shot on a mini, or a cropped mini LF which is identical to a mini, we would still need 2 different focal lengths to match the FOV. So that is why we just stuck to OG on the LF!
I see yall shot prores 10bit 422 to edit them in davinci resolve. I know the internal prores raw on gh7 is 12bit 444 but since its prores raw cant use davinci to grade. Was arri using 12bit arriraw or 12bit prores? 12bit vs 10bit definitely a difference in skintones even possible for a smoother rolloff and slight dynamic range boost. Definitely want to see raw vs raw arri logc3 in a comparison.
We shot 422 on the gh7 and 422hq on the Alexa as that is the lowest it can go. I was most concerned with just capturing the specific tests that we captured, would have loved to do more but it took enough time and we wanted to go to dinner 😂. I’m sure ProRes raw is better than the 422 we shot. But even on an Alexa, every codec, 422 to arriraw look pretty identical in 709. It’s only when you start to really push that the difference reveals itself. Can’t comment on the GH7 but would love to test ProRes raw some time.
@BlaineWestropp1 it is a great test im enjoying these so far and gh7 is looking like a great BCAM. Hopefully we can try arri logc3 on internal Braw for davinci in the future 🙌🏾. But as far as comparisons go this was definitely amazing. I hate heavy rig setups so lumix partnering and giving us this in a small form factor compared to the other cinema cameras is amazing. 😎 s5iix arri log c3 update coming soon perhaps?🙏🏾

I don’t have much experience with Panasonic cameras. Is the GH7 not just an upgraded GH6?
@@BlaineWestropp1 They don't have the same color science, the GH7 is much closer than the G9II for colors, Skin tones on the GH6 are in my opinion nicer.
I think the GH7 looks more like an upgraded G9II.
I know you said you were going to do a video on Apple log, but filming yourself in the mirror is pretty cheeky. 😂
I enjoy watching your journey with film, camera, lens, and explaining your experiences. 👍🏻
thank you thank you! I definitely plan to make a video called... the iPhone camera :)
GH7 looks great! You can see in low light the skin tones don't maintain all tonality and cleanness as much as the alexa sensor, but it's quite close. It's an excellent B or C-cam. If Lumix licence the LogC onto their next FF sensor... now it'll be veeeeeeery interesting to see, since the DR will be much closer.
yeah I think it is looking great. would be super interesting to see if they added to the FF sensors!
Thanks for the test.
Still not sure about Log C on GH.
there are still some tests I need to do. may post more here.
Definitely want to do more collabs. Also I do get that sometimes 😇
It would have been nice to see a V-Log -> LogC color space transform. I don't doubt there is a difference, but just to see "how much".
Yep. Should have included that. I’d love to get the camera back in my hands to do further testing.
Good idea. Will test shortly and report back. Should have included this in the video.
@@BlaineWestropp1 Looking forward to it! Thanks!
Well that would be a huge disappointment since Panasonic has clearly stated several times that ARRI themselves mapped the GH7 sensor down to matrix level to get as close a match as possible sensor differences with regard to DR and pixel density notwithstanding.
Great breakdown, Blaine!
Thank you 😊
What a story - still use the promist everyday! Thanks again!

Thanks. And you are right to the point GH7 or FX30, that's a question many will ask.
yep. the logc in the gh7 is very interesting, and it has great image stabilization. sony wins on autofocus, though I really didn't test gh7 auto focus beyond one or 2 shots and it seemed fine.
i want those sunglasses patrick has
Me too
Nice tests. Cool crossover episode
Thank you thank you
Have you tried emotive-color luts for Slog3? It's supposed to put you in the ballpark of Arri color science. Regardless, i love it and the pleasing colors it produces.
I've used the same lut formatted for V-Log Gh5 for a client shoot with FX3 & GH5, matched really well after some grading and the skintones looked great as well! Great vid, thanks for this, I love my GH5, this makes me want to use it more again. Handheld footage with IBIS is just top tier.
I have tried emotive. I have also built a bunch of looks that I use for everything, but emotive is nice. also.. yes.. the ibis is really good.
320 definitely matches 800 better. Noise matches more. Also, I could share some frames!
Also, one of the tests was at 800 on Alexa and 320 on GH7 I am pretty sure. I have to look back at my notes.
nice BTS and review! thanks!
Thank you 😊
I just experienced all of the good qualities of a Casey neistat video…but in a new, refreshed way, that feels very genuinely you.
You are onto something, Blaine!
😎
@@Fedorevsky that's it! You're right I guess!

I could tell you were excited at the camera store, those pans around, i be the same way, my wife looks at me in disgust 😂😂😂😂😂😂
hahah gotta love popping into the camera store 😂
In fact, Kinefinity cinema cameras use arri logc for a while now.
is this something that is in collaboration with arri?
@@BlaineWestropp1 Sorry bro, I think I had a false memory. I thought I have seen they say they use Arri LogC3 on their web page. But I checked the web page and web site documentation back to 2023 they haven't said it. My bad.
freaaaaking interesting.
Arri kills. damn near every time.
except that bathroom model shot, super green or weird yellow thing happening. thought the gh7 looked a tad better.
this test really shows just how saturated the FX and gh7 sensors really are.
yes they are more saturated. I think in the bathroom we were just seeing low CRI house lights, as I just used what was in the bathroom for model shot.
@@BlaineWestropp1 totally. Arri accurately depict those low cri lights 🤣

thank you! that Alexa has been in many bathroom studios 😂. often times the only place I can get pure dark when doing tests.
Legit video, nice experiments!
thank you :)
If you needed a B-CAM to pair with the ALEXA, are you going with a BMPCC, FX3, or GH7 ?
Absolutely great question. I’m really not sure. I’ve shot a bunch with the c70 next to Alexa and have a great match for them, same for FX3. This was my first time using a lumix camera so I’d need to test more. I love BMD cameras for their simple menu. The BMCC 6K FF sensor is of course extremely similar in size to the Alexa, and the colors are great. But to really know which colors match the most I’d have to have all 4 in the same room. It’s a tough one.
would have liked to see matching the gh7 with v-log to the alexa
me too. may arrange this.
Why does the GH7 footage look so dirty and grainy?
some shots, towards the end, had some grain added in post, and a pro mist filter was used. are those the clips you were talking about?
@@BlaineWestropp1 for v-log
RED sold, ARRI licensing their color science... could this be the writing on the wall for their camera cinema industry?
Currently there isn’t anything that would make me not choose an Alexa on any project that could support it. Who knows where we will go.. I mean special video could be the next thing and Blackmagic and apple are already hard at work on that. We will see. But.. of all cameras I’ve ever used, I have not had a smoother/happier time on anything like I do on the Alexa. It is perfectly designed, with an incredible look. I did have a good time with the red scarlet-w as well. Love that camera. May need to buy one again. I like the usability of a camera, the simplicity, just as much as the image quality, and a lot of cameras are just clunky to use in my opinion.

what was iso settings in bathroom scene, there was some noise in gh7 not in alexa? that will be cool full frame panasonic with arri log
I am not totally sure, but could be due to 4444 being a larger data rate than prores raw..
Hi,
Question maybe the saturation is to do with the fact that probably Resolve or FCP interpret the GH7 footage ProRes HQ as Video data range and it schould be full data which you need to change manually in resolve?
hmm I think I was viewing non adjusted footage directly off the camera. unless there is a specific issue with the GH7 specifically where resolve doesn't show it properly, but I have never had that issue with any footage ever in resolve in the past 10 years.
@filipmichalsaffray441 wow. You’re right!! Looks a LOT better when changing to full.
We shot in ProRes 422!
Your video was great and well needed. The Gh7 is a beast of a camera and has mega potential especially because of the size. I just see the Magenta and Green is slightly different compared to the Alexa.

Newb question but why not just match with cst?
In this case, they would have the same CST bc the GH7 was shooting logc
Sorry I mean native log (instead arrilogc). So for example doing cst on the Sony to go from slog3->arrilogc->709. Fundamentally isn’t this what’s happening under the hood?
Which filter did you use to achieve the soft, promist look for the footage at 17:29?
just a dirty ass ND 😎
Is it possible to show Vlog with GH Alex lut compared to arriLogC in GH7?
working on this now!
We can see noise on the face of the model on the GH7 bathroom shots
yes, those shots were slightly under exposed. but yeah, you can see some noise at iso 800 as well. 320 is the "native"
1:07 - are those yamakas? What a strange thing
yes!
GH7 has insanely more red in the skin tones
yep
@@BlaineWestropp1 wonder if its just the color sciense or maybe a IR filter issue thing, It kind of make a persons skin look worse and you often see this on cheaper cameras. Maybe playing with the Hue - Sat curve could reduce it
more interviews please
Confused why you guys did not use the Alexa Mini which has the same look depth wise and instead the LF which looks quite different to compare this? Old minis are super cheap now to rent.
We used the LF bc I have an LF. We used the full sensor just to keep the resolution as close as possible between cameras. Even if we shot on a mini, or a cropped mini LF which is identical to a mini, we would still need 2 different focal lengths to match the FOV. So that is why we just stuck to OG on the LF!

Ah, ah, comparisons, comparisons... I remember that people said that the GH4 was as good as if not better than a Red three generations of cameras ago😂
😎 GH4 is famous!
