- Todd Howard debuts Fallout 4 at E3 2015 with a spectacular live demo and other surprise announcement at the Bethesda Showcase at the Dolby Theater - including a November 2015 release date.
girlfriend caught me watching this conference live, she told me I was obsessed with gaming. She said that only one thing could stay my games or her. Man I cannot wait for fallout 4
Nice choice, b0ss.
Pink Guy if she really made you make a bullshit choice liek that she's overobsessive. good choice
Pink Guy Time to find a new girlfriend that likes vidya games m8
Nice choice bro. You deserve a healer at least.
Pink Guy Gee I wonder if you completely made that up in an attempt at a shitty and overused joke format.
It's kind of crazy just how flawless this presentation was.
Todd, King of 16times the details!!
Too bad we don't get E3 anymore
yeah, comparing to how starfield was presented - this was many times better. It's so good that I can't believe I'm rewatching this right now, and am seeing other really recent comments on this video lmao
Yeah I still come back to this. Best presentation, short time until release, small mobile game to keep people interested, a massive presentation about the game, concept, ideas, gameplay etc. Also, Todd Howard is very good at selling the product.
Stark contrasts to what we see as of late.
@@TheMetalfreak360 yeah, and most importantly - I don't think any statement made by Todd in the presentation was a lie (maybe some parts were "over-hyped", but I don't think anything was a flat out "lie"). Basically everything shown in this presentation was there in the game. I know people clip the part where he says "it just works" for the memes, but in the context of what he was saying, the settlement building system did work relatively well with easy snapping and placing down of objects, etc.
7 years later, 1650 hours game time and I still LOVE this game so much.
I'm playing it for the first time, clocked in 8 hours yesterday it felt like 2 had passed. I'm playing it like I played fallout 3 just exploring with no particular path planned. Im finding it hard to avoid being killed during a gunfight my character is only level 6 not very damage resistant.
Hell yea! 1100 hours here, just started a new playthrough with a Winter overhaul.
Me to about 1000 hours! And i love to play whit the mods.
refreshing to see ppl say they enjoy the game for what it is. i alw see comparisons with New Vegas & 3.
Yeah mods....my game ain't fallout 4 anymore...it's a terminator tarkov COD stalker sim city
This man really knows how to put on a presentation
Was thinking the same thing
Todd Howard is the Steve Jobs of the gaming industry
@@GhostShadow860 that's well deserved
Eh it was a whole show. Todd just read the script.

Can we just appreciate how they managed to keep this under wraps just to release it 4 months later after the announcement at this E3. That's a very rare occurrence.
Everybody knew Fallout 4 was in the works but yes is impressive to develop a game this big and keep it on the low

Stop. 76 is a good game. I don’t care what anyone else says.
@@thisisahandle01 You're in the minority. It's why they made Fallout 76 free to play on some services while they have yet to make Fallout 4 free. Lol
fallout 4 is great, fallout 76 is equal to an ea game.
@@gabrielrendon Fallout 76 is an ESO type game. Bethesda just wanted to have one game of fallout which has online functionalities. However i don't think they would make another online fallout game for another decade or so.

Todd Howard: "AHEM. Video games."

I remember watching this live, seeing "8 years ago" in the description is so depressing.
😔
Was literally just thinking that. Remember watching this live in my room when i was 15, doesnt even feel like 8 years ago life is moving to fast 😭

Almost 9 years now...I watched this live too. Holds a lot of memories.

xD
lol
SARCASTIC (X) Well, as some people said, in order to enjoy the game you have to approach it in a whole different way. Ignore the story, turn on your radio, do more interesting side quests than the main story, cause mayhem everywhere you go just because, or yeah, play games on the Pipboy.

I mean that didn’t spoil much. You figure that out in 10 mins of playing the game
That pretty much standard in fallout games lol
Right?!
Is it really a spoiler if it happens in the opening of the game though?
why am i watching this when i own fallout 4

I remember staying up till like 4am watching the entire Bethesda showcase, seeing Doom, Dishonored....etc. Then they started to show Fallout 4 and when the base building was announced I literally cried on the spot. After everything was shown it eas early 6am, instead of going to sleep I just watched reactions to the showcase on RUclips because I was too excited....
Man, I know the feeling. In my time zone, the presentation also ended at 6 a.m. There was only 1 hour left to sleep before college. But the energy after the presentation was enough for the whole day. Since then, I have never seen a cooler presentation. And I've never waited so much for another game. Well, except Starfield i guess)
Sounds like me after the Starfield Direct that happened recently. I can't wait until September 6th!
Lmao same
@user-ki2ez5qy9y and I've never had that level of excitement for a game since
This is why people love bethesda so much. The excitement and wonder of exploration. Starfiekds direct gave me very similar hype and applause. There's just something so special about a bethesda game studios release. Forget whatever the haters and detractors say, I grew up with super nintendo.. to see what we get to do in games like these is a reminder of why I love video games. I also can not wait for starfields collectors edition to arrive at my doorstep! I took off two days to load and play it.. just as I did fallout4
2015 was really an amazing year for gaming

Man i miss the excitement of that game coming out. They really blew it by not having Fallout 5 ready when the TV show launched, it would have sold incredible numbers when so many people who discovered Fallout for the first time through the show all jumped on the bandwagon and picked up FO4 and 76, craving to be part of the action. That buzz will be long gone by the time 5 arrives, if it ever does.
bang on, very controversial but if i was bethesda, delay es6 concentrate on fallout 5 whilst the hype is very high, use profits to perfect es6.
Now that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you give a E3 presentation, or any presentation in generals
.
will kind of miss this reveal format due to E3 not being a thing anymore
Do you hear the absolute silence of that crowd? Even during the most climactic moments of these trailers they are soaking in every little detail in complete awe.
I have to say that my favorite part of this entire presentation is the showcase of the concept art. It just gives you a sense of wonder. It's nice that they give the concept artists a time to shine as well. You don't see that often.
I was full of chills. The music and concept art just felt like a dystopian dream back when I first saw this. And here I am coming back to it.
He will be perfect for the voice of the vault boy tbh, if they ever decide to take it to that step
2022 and still makes me cry. Love fallout so much and this showcase was such a masterpiece.
Really was a great one
cry ? my men check your testo levels
@@hippokrates4494 Bruh, I have been a fallout fan for the majority of my life. Actually getting a new fallout game was absolutely insane when it was announced.
Also, literally nothing wrong with showing emotion as a guy. Crying doesn't have to be balling your eyes out, you can shed a tear when something is very powerful emotionally which this was. Men are way more likely to commit suicide because they feel like they can't express emotions dude, so it's pretty harmful to spread this kinda crap around.

Still playing the game by now, an absolute masterpiece
I like to watch this just to remember how excited I was to play this game after seeing this live
despite how the faction interaction and story was not as great as new vegas, the game was spectacular and nearly 6 years later I am still playing the game. I started just last year and it is wonderful!
Even though I have completed Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 4, this still makes me so happy! :D
Get ready for fallout 5
Still the best E3 presentation I've ever seen. Todd and Bethesda really know how to build excitement with these.

This might be the best presentation in E3 story.

Fallout 4 meant so much to me :). it gave me so much happiness.
I get chills every time I watch this.
Man this Todd Howard E3 Fallout 4 presentation has to be among my all time favorites, felt like Christmas morning with all the epic gameplay footage. Man I remember back in June 2015 when the Fallout social media accounts posted the please stand by image, I was super hyped, I knew an announcement of Fallout 4 was imminent and man that reveal trailer was so good, the soundtrack by Inon Zur, still gives me chills 🙌 I must have re watched it at least 30 times!! Fallout 4 was so good, so many memories!
How lost and out of touch of a person would you have to be to thumbs down this video? How do you even get to a place like that.
@Excuse my Sass even though fallout 4 is one of the top played steam games to this day
@@opscav5062 Fallout 4 has always been considered the weakest "Fallout" game by the FO community, its the weakest in terms of writing and RPG elements, as its been said a thousand times already "Fallout 4 is a good game just not a good fallout game" its a solid game in its own right, but when you consider it a Fallout game, it doesnt stand up to its predecessors, most noteably Fallout New Vegas, mainly due to FO4 sharing the same writer as FO3 (Another FO game considered weak in the writing department). The game lets itself down in so many traditionally prioritized areas due to the design philosophy of prioritizing the gun play of the game, another major pit fall of FO4 was the decision to go with a voice protaganist with their own pre-established backstory, removing any possibility of roleplaying and creating your own head canon, even the writer of Fallout 4 has been quoted as making many strong counter arguments to his own idea of giving the game a voice protaganist. I mean the Voice lines for the two main protaganists (Male and Female) is reportedly 40% of ALL dialogue in the whole game. Their design philosophy of stricly having 4 responses to every dialogue to fit with the four buttons of a controller was incredibly limiting to the writing of dialogue because it went there either wasnt enough reponses, or there were too many, there were alot of instances where the response would often only have called for a simple true or false, but had to be filled out with irrelevant options to ensure the 4 repsonses criteria was met due to it being hardcoded into the game.
Riding the high after watching the Starfield Direct, the best showcases I've seen to date!!! 🤙👺🤙
Todd's presentations are awesome.
I still think this is the best video game presentation I’ve ever seen-whether Fallout 4 ultimately stuck the landing is debatable, but as far as drumming up pure hype and encapsulating the essence of a successful game launch, Todd delivered.
My God I can't wait for this to come out
Watching this eight years later I get goosebumps when the artworks and the main theme sets in @4:14. All "it just works" jokes aside they really showed what the game later delivered.
This presentation was, for me, the pinnacle of what E3 was. Bethesda comes in, announces their new fallout, showing loads of game play footage. Releasing an entire new free phone game and a companion app with that.
And the fallout game is set to launch 3 months later.
What a presentation!
I will never forget the pure excitement I had when this was announced/streamed. I had the biggest smile on my face the entire time. That summer the hype train for FO4 was insane, I remember all the memes and the discussions of what the game was gonna be like. It had been 5 years since we got a Fallout game, everyone was loosing their minds. The day the game came out and I first launched I swear I was ready to cry lmfao. My first play through of this game is still the most fun I've had playing any game ever, can't believe it's been 8 years already. It's been a longer time between FO4 to now compared to FO3 and FO4 which is insane to me, because it felt like forever between FO3 to FO4's release. Time went by so fast the past 8 years.
This E3 presentation gets me hyped up for a game that's been out for 7 years now
For real, lol
I remember being so hyped for fo4, good times.
And truly, this is how you do an E3 Reveal/Conference... Games been out 5 days and I have already put over 60 hours into it, first game iv truly enjoyed buying my PS4 for xD

I like watching this once a year. Just for the good memories of what E3 and Bethesda used to be. At least, let’s hope their next games are a step up. I used to watch this reactor called Skylenox, he isn’t on RUclips anymore but watching his reaction with the community was the best thing.
Never every going to forget the excitement I had for this game while waiting for it's release, still love the game as much to this day!
