When it comes to Research and Grind I would suggest War Thunder. I played WoT long ago for 2 years One year with Premium, one Without. I went the British Tree line for the FV215b and one for the FV4202 before it got Replaced by the Centurion Action X (That one I got too) The Grind for Both was both Painful and barely fun. Not sure how its not but seen how much stuff Wargaming has made for Tanks,I got Confused and left as to how much got added and changed. As for War Thunder I did the same. One year Premium and one Without. The Soviet I played with Premium and the British with no Premium. I progressed with both at ease especially Premium. But what made my game for the British so good was the Random Talisman that I got for my Challenger 1 Mk,3 Yes the game can gives you 1-1.000.000 chance to get a Random Talisman for any Vehicle Nation you played. For my Luck it was the UK and the Challenger 1 Mk.3 that got added back in the days. Whats a Talisman? Its basically like a Premium Tank where you get more Research points, but it does not have the Silver Lion Booster what many Premium Vehicles do. For the Soviets it was a Cake walk despite the insane amount of Vehicles the USSR Tree has in War Thunder. I especially grinded fast once I got myself a Jet Premium called MiG-17AS With that Jet,I went from Rank 1 to Rank 5 Very quickly by playing on a weekend 2 day's straight for 24/7 (I do not recommend doing this as it impacts mental health) All in all I would suggest War Thunder with many positive things then WoT.
Waiting for the economy video, I personally am a fan of WT economy and research costs, I was really struggling back in my days in WoT, but in wt i just forgot grind exists
Very interesting video as always 14:13 I believe when you go to research a module that would be too heavy for you current vehicle the tracks upgrade will start pulsing orange to indicate tracks are need to use the upgraded module, if tracks don't glow orange then your good to research the module, this is never explained but after your first time not getting tracks you figure out what the glowing orange means 15:10 I have never had to buy a garage slot, Wargaming dishes garage slots out like they are candy. The more annoying younger brother of garage slots is how large your barracks is meaning you can only have so many crew members not in tanks before you run out of space. The only was to increase the amount of space is by paying with gold. I do believe with the new crew update Wargaming will be removing most of the useless crew members and compensating you with exp books to free up space.
I dont play WoT any longer so can't comment on tiere current maps but in WT those maps you mentioned liking the change I have yet to hear any on liking the changes and all the players and my clan and those I know I know all want the older versions back and holland have replaced most of thems banned/dislike map on the list.
the sameness of the Wot map design and how small their maps are is alot of what made me stop playing. grinding becomes very monotonous very quickly. combine that with me personally finding that it feels restrictive and overly populated with no room to manoeuvre. steel hunter and frontlines were far more fun for me personally. and so i'll still go back and play those sometimes when they are active. but regular gameplay i haven't touched for over a year.
I played Wot for 5 years and War Thunder currently for 7 years Tbh, i think Wot did a better job with map design, like a lot of maps theres excellent bushes or ridgelines for tank destroyers and light tanks to utilize to support their team, theres usually 3 routes for med/heavy tanks to take to clash/brawl with the enemy team's main forces and some flanking routes . And theres fairly a decent amount of structures and terraine features to copy from artillery. In war thunder it feels like Gaijin straight up went for aesthetics and zero thought into map flow . Like some of the maps are heavily unbalanced to a specific side, like Berlin and 38th Parallel where one team has almost no cover between the spawns and objectives or straight up have easier and quicker access to strong positions. Not to mention some maps like Berlin, White Rock Fortress feels like they want u spawn camp the enemy team with these ridiculous angles into their spawns. Im still 50/50 on the newer maps , like i dislike Arctic because of the rideline camping but i like the different atmosphere from the typical ww2 but then the ridgeline campfest kills it for me . Top tier it doesnt matter since its a point and click adventure with dart rounds and LRF and plus you're always at the mercy of CAS/Helis. I just wish there was more maps like Carpathians, Golden Quarry etc but more fitting and scaled to each era of tanks
"most players generally migrate to realistic" you got a source for that? because just about asking anyone will say AB(ground) is most played and when ever I look in game it seems there is more AB battles going on that RB/SB.
What will be the next episode be about? Seems like you covered a lot so far.. also, will there be a dedicated conclusion video comparing the total differences?
No way, WoT added that random map event... They aren't even hiding the fact of rigging the game anymore xD WoT in 2024 : "The team that has more paying players will now win with even higher chances". Its crazy how much they want the game to be based on RNG rather than skill level. Tier 10 exclusive games is a perfect addition, should be a switchable option, tbh. Edit.: I've stopped playing WoT (and Blitz) around the time they introduced WoT+, so ever since that I'm just following the news, hoping they will add something that will make me go back to them...but sadly, I feel like I will never touch WoT ever again in my life.
modern warthunder maps is more like they built the location first and then found ways to fit stuff in
The Tier 10 only maps are Grand Battles where it's 30 v 30 and you are able to turn Grand Battles on or off same goes for the Random Battle maps.
i've honestly been really enjoying this series! Keep it up! :D
9:41 This also didn't mention Air RB maps that are 128x128 km (1000x larger than Red Desert by area)
11:30 the amount of times a vehicle completely disappeared, appeared, or reappeared in Realistic battles on War Thunder for me 😂…

So… WoT maps are bad on purpose and WarThunder maps are bad by accident?
You're not wrong
Nice
War thunder is better
