pretty day for some trains
Beautiful this Video.
Oh boy! Fresh powder and zipping Amtrak and SEPTA trains. Locals, Acela, Northeast Regionals and was that the Cardinal? And lots of flying snow. I love watching all of this from my studio in Arizona! 😂
It was a great day! It could well have been a cardinal, consist looks about right, could also have been a silver meteor or star headed for Florida. I’d have to check my camera to see what time it came through.
I don’t mind the snow, but the cold makes me wish I could be watching from Arizona too!
Nice! Were these shot in Rhode Island or Mass?
Thanks! They were shot in Pennsylvania, just north of Philly
@@therirailroader Wow! I didn’t know they could run that fast so close to Philly. Anywhere near Gunpow interlocking, where that horrible accident was in ‘87?
@@douglasalan5783 Track speed is 125 in many areas coming into Philly, it slows a bit after and through the curve at Frankford Junction (Location of the 2015 accident with 188). Torresdale Station, where this was shot, is on an S curve and trains slow a bit, I think 80 on the local tracks and around 100 on the inner tracks through the curves.
The Gunpowder incident was further south in Maryland
@@therirailroader Ah, Frankford Junction. Tragic and total human error. Did the engineer serve time?
@@douglasalan5783He was found not guilty on all charges in 2022.
Watch at 2x speed to get an idea of what Norway must be like
Norway where the fastest train, that started service in 1998, only goes up to 210 km/h or 130 MPH on just a 64 km or 40 mile route? Our 50 year old Amfleet I gets up to those speeds and the Acela has been surpassing that top speed for 25 years.
Not every European country has a TGV or ICE.
