    100% this saved an otherwise mint lens. I've managed to avoid pulling the blades on cleaning jobs on many of these so far, but i finally had to on one. After nearly throwing it across the room in a profanity filled tantrum, I came across this video and had it back together after 20 minutes. Bravo on great instruction! A steady hand, antimagnetic tweezers and a full tank of patience got it done! Thank you! ---Now I need a vid to replace the damn felt without losing half of it on the reinstall...

    Hello, I think these blades are the same as the ones fitted to the previous F2 Leitz lens namely the Summar. The Summar is described as having 6 blades! The story goes that during final Summitar production someone found a lot of Summar blades and they decided to use up the stock on the last of the Summitars.

      This vision of Summitar came with 12 blades but in Hexagon shape iris, believe to be a later version. Early version of the 10 blades round shape iris Summitar was produced after the Summar.
