I hand quilt my quilts. I lose myself in the process. It's meditative. That is a lovely quilt.

I am back..this is truly amazing. I can't say enough about your work.. I just wish I could get my fingers to work like you do.

Same here!! I cannot hold onto the needle with a thimble on my finger. I do hand quilt, but I have to do it a different way, and it takes me so much longer.

Thank you for doing this video. I too love the look of a hand quilted quilt. Lately when I go to quilt shows it’s very disappointing that you don’t see as many as you used to from years ago and basically it’s really now become quilt wall art at these shows😔

I totally agree about hand quilting making the cool puffiness! But I cannot get my finger with a thimble to hold the needle like you. So I do it my way, which is super duper slow!

Thank you for this tutorial. Your hand work is very even and beautiful. My machine quilting is mostly stitch in the ditch and I run into puckers at times.
I will go back and see about using the hoop. It doesn't seem like you would get puckers as you wouldn't have the feed dogs, machine tension and machine throat size as possible issues.
I did some hand ties recently on somewhat thick 80/20 batting. I had to do many over as they didn't go through to the backing. I bet you have a favorite batting for hand quilting. I will subscribe and watch your earlier videos.

well you could get puckers if you don’t make sure the 3 layers are nice and flat and even when you pin them together, and also pin the quilt enough so that it doesn’t move , but for the most part i don’t usually have problems with puckers.

I tried my hoop but I can’t get the back perfectly without wrinkles. I do okay on my big frame.

You don’t have to rush on my account. I have started my next quilt. Once you are ready, I will come back and finish the first one. All is good.

Do you mark your quilts? Also do you quilt bastik fabric? Are your quilts sewn by machine or by hand?
