I really like these videos-you just showing what you are making. And the “sound effects” when you make a mistake are perfect! After all, we’ve all done that! It’s a joy to watch you work!
After making my first dovetail in my wood manufacturing class, I definitely have a newfound respect for people who can do it almost flawlessly with ease good job man👍🏼👍🏼
When I saw the line about, "keep an eye on the saw and notice how I have it tilted," I was expecting some weird pro-tip about how tilted saws make the job easier or something. Makes me feel a little better about the chair supports I built last weekend that aren't level with each other. Still haven't figured out how to fix them.
Great project, nicely done! Always a pleasure to watch your videos 👍. If I can recall it, Paul Sellers has demonstrated the trick with the masking tape as well.
Andy, Robert Terkla- ''LunkersTV & The Real Americans" youtube channels, is looking for a woodworker to build him a custom table for his new house for an alcove. He wants to place fish mounts on it. Many people responded to his request with your name. Your buddy Matt Carriker should have contact information. Just an FYI.
Nice simple project. Dont know what I would ever use a egg holder for, cause I dont have chickens. But always enjoy your execution of projects. Well done as always. Thanks Andy. 😀👍
Cool little project man! You beat me to a video on that particular blue tape trick but I'm working on a video with lot's of cool "fine woodworking" blue tape tricks! Keep being awesome!
Love, love, love your channel! Thanks for showing warts and all (your small slip with coping saw on dovetails)... so real! Q: Why a holder for 1.5 dozen eggs? Why not just 12 or 24?
How do you decide when to use hand tools and when to use power tools? You bought and rebuilt a big bandsaw and a mortiser but you seem to use them rarely. You have a nice machine for making boards S4S but it seems that you rarely use it. You have a really nice wide belt sander. You have a number of really nice power tools. It is great that you have not abandoned the hand tools but how do you decide when to use which. A little guidance would be appreciated. Thank you!
That's a good question, I dedicate a couple days a week to create RUclips videos the rest of the week I'm building furniture for clients. Usually with RUclips I select smaller projects and feature more handtool work because I think it makes better content. I rarely film the milling and prep work because I don't want the videos to be too long and that's the least interesting part in my opinion. I use all the big machinery daily to make furniture for my business and prep material for videos. Hope that answers your question...
@@AndyRawls -- Well, I hope you video some of your furniture projects as well. One example: I really enjoyed the large conference table you did and had to redo because of dropping it. I am sure we all watched with great interest when you bought and rebuilt the large bandsaw. The same for the mortiser. If it takes several shows to show how a china cabinet, or a hutch, or a vanity for a bathroom, or . . . is built, we will watch with great interest. This is my opinion and it may be different from the masses. That is what I would like to see! I know you have to please more than just me.
Great video. I noticed you were using a regular utility knife to make the marks for the dovetail. Maybe you could make one of your next projects you making a marking knife.
Hey Andy I know you get tons of suggestions but a wood door with joinery could be cool probably not all solid wood it might be kind of heavy well good luck on the business
The only thing that would make this better is is Matt Carriker ran in said he has a chicken coop and he made his own water system grabbed this and ran out.
"Turn on closed captions"... NEVER! Why would I ruin watching your majestic work with having to look away from what you're doing to read about what I can plainly see you doing! I'm sure plenty of people like it though, this is not a complaint by the way I'm just talking out my ass
that is OK. Clamp some wood down, drill with portable drill. Then use this as a template. Either make small, 1mm holes for forstener centres, then drill carefully with forstner. The starter holes will be nice and accurate, or, make one large egg sized template and proceeed as above, or even router using using large egg sized template. In all cases do clamp everything down. Hope that helps.
I dont think the time would make a difference if you post it after the live stream. if we cant make the live stream we could at least watch the posted live stream. just a thought. keep up the great vids thank you.
That my friend was one of thr most enjoyable videos I've ever watched on RUclips. No joke.
Thank you for not editing out the mistake. I need the reminder that we all make mistakes.

Huge fan of the retro Spurs flag. I like the cc over the videos instead of talking or music, I enjoy the simple sounds of a workshop. Keep it up.
Gregory D what where?'
@@benboy7065 Its at 3:01 top left part of the screen.
Me too, I absolutely hate annoying music .... nothing better than normal shop sounds

Always a pleasure watching him create
It is always a treat to visit with you bud. I haven't seen hand cut dovetails in a very long time. As always, thanks a bunch Andy.

Love projects like this. I think this is the first thing I’ve seen that makes me actually want to try making dove tails.
Nice and calming sounds of woodworking......
Rob Cosman is proud!
Great project, nicely done! Always a pleasure to watch your videos 👍. If I can recall it, Paul Sellers has demonstrated the trick with the masking tape as well.
Awesome idea with the painters tape!
Nice piece. Really good dovetails.

Nice job
Your work style is like your products, simply and minimalist, I like it, congratutalions.

I’m stoked!!! Can’t wait to see you live!!
Cool little project man! You beat me to a video on that particular blue tape trick but I'm working on a video with lot's of cool "fine woodworking" blue tape tricks! Keep being awesome!
Thanks! When I first saw the blue tape trick I thought it was a horrible idea then I tried and it works beautifully.
Love, love, love your channel! Thanks for showing warts and all (your small slip with coping saw on dovetails)... so real! Q: Why a holder for 1.5 dozen eggs? Why not just 12 or 24?
Good video and the egg tray look great
Simple and fun to watch
Great video and nice work !
Pointy end goes down when storing eggs.
Beautiful work! Just visited Beorne!
Demo Ranch is here and loving the channel...

Really nice
10/10 wholesome channel, would sub
As usual, great job!
Just in time! Also I’m wearing one of your bunker shirts today :)
Just beautyful. I will try to make it
Awesome

Evening works best for me. I usually get a 30 minute lunch break. Also, great shirt!
What time would it be for GMT the live stream
Love that vice
Hey Andy, What size forstner did you use for the egg cradle? Thank you
1.625"
You should make a mancala board
Hermoso!👍gracias a tu video excelente.
That's why I don't use a coping saw. Just chop out all the dovetail waste with a chisel.
How big do the shirts go up to? Cool video.
I think 3XL
Eggcellent
Does your shop have any kind of a/c? Cheers from Pearland/Houston.
Simple but nice :D
Nice vid
Todo te queda muy bien
Also it may seem odd but store your eggs narrow side pointing down. Helps contain the yolk better
Nice
Seu trabalho é fantástico. Parabéns! Manda um alô aqui para a Marcenaria Rocha aqui no Brasil
Could u do a video on ur benches seems like you have the Same as Paul sellers.
Yes it is a Paul Sellers bench
The only thing that would make this better is is Matt Carriker ran in said he has a chicken coop and he made his own water system grabbed this and ran out.
The best time would definitely be evening
No joke I was thinking about making exactly this today my chicks eggs are too big for the plastic standard egg box I have

I don’t have a drill press☹️

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💓
your techniques got a lot to be desired but the final piece is beautiful.
Thanks I guess! What issues do you have with my techniques?
Handcrafted with power tools?
Not bad only thing I say is you’re dovetail work needs more practice
