What about a build challenge where you have a set amount of time (2-3mins) to "shop" for furniture/lights. Then, you have to build the shell and furnish the house with what you picked out, not being able to go back to purchase other items and needing to use everything you pulled out.
Further Info:
*During the shopping phase, you can select anything from the build/buy catalogue. If you want more than one of an item, you need to duplicate/pull out as many as you want. Swatches are finalized when the time runs out
*If you want a higher difficulty, windows/doors can also be selected during the shopping stage
*After the time is up, take as long as you want to build the shell, add wallpaper/flooring, and furnish it using ALL the items you picked out in the shopping stage
*Landscape is separately timed (1min), but you cannot arrange it until time is up.
Hopefully this all leads to an interesting build~

That would be fun well in the sims
All the clothing is hoodies, sweatshirts and dressing gowns. They have decorative yoga mats and activewear that isn’t actually usable because no one has the energy to use it. A “juicing” cart that follows your sim around and a “doesn’t believe in the pandemic” trait so they just ignore everything and get sick!

I've had neighbours like that before. Once, I waited until they stopped and settled down to sleep, and then blasted things through the walls in the other direction, to see how they liked it. Happened considerably less after that.

Usually, any noise after 10:30 pm can be called into the cop's non-emergency number and reported. In most states and cities you can file disturbing the peace complaints if a neighbor is getting too loud. Check your local laws and it's best to report them if they are violating any social gathering mandates during this pandemic.

When you were talking about the different sized beds it reminded me how much I want there to be king-sized (like 3 tile wide) beds in the sims. It seems weird making a giant fancy house and you can't put a giant fancy bed in the master bedroom

I really like how every time a pack comes out no matter the simmer, simmers always try to show how versatile the packs can be. I would’ve never guessed the living was basically just paranormal.

my parents have lived in our house since 87 and have had the same neighbours for 33 yrs and yet to talk to them, only nearly half a century
I’ve been in my place for 25 years. I’ve had the same across the street neighbors at 2 houses the whole time. I’ve never talked to either of them. 🤷🏻♀️
I have lived in my house for 12 years and never talked to the neighbors across the street. I think it's a normal thing

I lived in an apartment with people like that. I couldn't get out of my lease and had to live like that for a year. When my lease was up, I moved out of there so fast. If this is as big of a problem as it was for me, I highly recommend moving as soon as you can. It's a pain, but getting away from those kind of people has significantly reduced the amount of stress in my life.

I moved to a new state B.C (before COVID) and as it turns out, my next-door neighbors have a leatherworking shop in their basement where they design their own hand-made costumes for the Renaissance festival at which they play the king and queen. They are the coolest neighbors.

Nice job! I downloaded the empty house. I spent hours and hours trying to figure out the inside and gave up! Kayla did a much better job.

hi! video challenge idea! build and furnish a house with whatever you want BUT you have to use your LEAST favorite swatch of the item. for example, if you really wanted to use the princess cordelia be but hated the green and silver swatch, too bad, you have to use that if you’re using the princess cordelia bed

The amount of times you mentioned your grandmas sun room where you played cards… reminds me of me and my grandma playing cards in our sun room. When you mentioned it I always smile because I miss my grandma and the good old days :) sounds like a great memory you have, I CAN imagine 💕

Honestly, I think some of my favourite speed builds are the ones where you use all packs. I love seeing what you can do with all the in game content as I am not one for CC. But your build videos are some of my favs and I've learned so much from your tutorials as well. Thank you for being awesome! Edit: I totally sympathize with you about your neighbour. We had a horrible one that would party all night in her bedroom on the other side of our bedroom wall. I felt like I talked about them all the time but it was the same for me, it affected my sleep so it was constantly on my mind. Thank God that chick moved!! Yay! Lol
in england where i live my neighbours know all the neighbours like they used to have weekly meetings with tea and biscuits before the pandemic, and we all give each other cards on birthdays
I just wanted to make a note here. You make me want to -try to- build, and I do have to admit that I am not good at building. I usually just make a room that fills the lot...and maybe a couple rooms here and there.

14:20 this was delightful to stumble upon post-infant update
It made me way too happy to hear Kayla's Sims 3 story on the baby buried in the snow. That was from the first LP i watched of hers and what got me to subscribe. I distinctively remember that scene happening and me laughing out loud because of it, so this took me back to some good memories. Especially considering I was on vacation and now with the pandemic that's not even possible

I will try to make this house only with base game in similiar style for people who like this build but don't have much packs. Good luck for me because this will take so much time to make that.
Honestly, if I had neighbours like that who're constantly interupting my sleep I would call the police on them for disturbance of peace.

Kayla, I feel you so much when you're talking about your noisy neighbours! The apartment downstairs of me used to be rented by a band which would often be practicing between 10 pm and 4 am. Playing the drums, electric guitar, same annoying song over and over again. It's the absolute worst when people keep you up at night. Mine wouldn't even hear me when I rang the doorbell to ask them to be more quiet, because they were being so loud. But during the day they weren't there because they didn't live in the place. I know you have anxiety and may not like confrontation, but seriously consider calling the police on these people and/or contacting their landlord. It's 1000% worth the fight. Not getting proper sleep is terrible for your mental and physical health.

petition for simsie to use her favorite items in the game, but pick the worst swatch, for an entire house, including landscaping!!
I like when you use unlimited packs occasionally. It’s fun!
Challenge Idea: Build a house but with each room you have a different length of time to build the walls, place doors/ windows and decorate it. Use an online timer generator to make it random and more of a challenge so one room you might have 2 minutes but another, you only have 20 seconds!
I know all my neighbours and have lived in my house for two years, I only like one of them 😂

the paranormal stuff items remind me a lot of the aesthetic in Clue and Knives Out! Like an old haunted hotel or manor. I love that they look great in lots of different builds!
