As noted below, NWSL is still in business. I ordered some parts from them acfew months ago. That motor, though they still sell it, is back from the day when it was a DC to DC swap, normally on high end brass. Those locos had great details and were custom for a specific road, but had crap open frame motors.

NWSL or North West Short Line is an excellent company that makes precision motors and gears.
Very useful, will help me with my Rivarossi used items collection. Thanks a lot !
I'm really glad it helped! Thank you so much for watching!
Good vid thanks!, i bought many parts from NWSL. great store...I'd love to see a rework of the Rivarossi Casey Jones#382, 4-6-0, it has a cheap 3 pole vertical type motor that could use upgrading tho it is from the late 70's the company is overdue for a remodel of that unit, but i love the look of that engine..
Nice locomotive glad to see it running.
Thanks tons! Me too! It’s a nifty beast!
Before AHM it was once distributed by Lionel When they were getting into 'HO' scale in 1957 (first phase)
I am working on getting my Rivarossi 2-10-2 Class S- 1 a 2-10-2 . It has not been run in 50 +years however I did get it to run tonite by putting power to the motor connectors. So, this 80+ year old (me) will see!!👁️
Oh,that’s really wonderful! I hope it works out and I’m looking forward to your best result!
How would you add a front coupler to the existing pilot?
Found vid because i am needing to trouble shoot a riva steam loco that doesn't power on when placed in confirmed working track (other locos work on it).
Great video doc, as always! Would you ever consider doing a dcc upgrade on this?
I have one in conversion now! Hopefully I'll get a video up soon. Thanks so much for watching!
@@DoctorHobby Can't wait!
That would be exciting, to find a brand new motor (not wired) in a locomotive that did not run. - Paul
I thought it was really quirky.. well, actually, you saw my legitimate reaction. This hobby is full of hidden treasures to be sure! Thank you for watching and commenting!
especially a NWSL motor
@@DoctorHobby NWSL is a shop that specializes in motors /gears & anything mechanical, to do with mode trains. Great source for all parts/ motors.Have been around for years.
👏👏👏👏👏
It was a neat find and I’m glad it was something I could work on. Even though it’s simple, hopefully it helps someone.
North West Short Line Is still in business ,
Oh, very cool!
Nice for the info on this Rivarossi Hudson. Was it the Red Box version?
Thanks tons! Yes indeed it was!
Where did you obtain those rollers, please?
These are made by Bachmann and are very handy, indeed!
I understand that ruverossi electric train are junk es the n scale
While the HO Rivarossi were not in the same league as Fleischmann or Marklin, I would not say they were junk. Not sure about the N Scale
