@@JosephKim Overall snappiness of an intel Evo platform vs balls to the wall AMD unit. I already own a heavy duty ryzen pc (for 3d modeling, cad, gaming... you name it) but need something light and sub $1k (also looking into intel's less powerful 12th gen p & u series) for travel.
Heads up: you can't use your own 100W charger (or docking station for that matter). The laptop will only draw up to 65W from any 3rd party charger and the laptop will not even reach full speed in performance mode while turbo mode will not be available anyways. Also, I just returned mine since it would shut down under load.
@@JosephKim Yes, exactly. A detail that is often overlooked by reviewers. It's pretty annoying esp. if you want to use a dock because you have to plug in both. And the USB C ports are on opposite sites, too. I tried it with a Dell WD19 dock with 90W power delivery. The CPU clock while rendering with Blender dropped from about 3.7Ghz to 2.7Ghz vs the Asus charger - and this did not even use the dGPU. Note that this does not apply to the XG Mobile dock. Btw, make sure to give that thing a thorough stability test with Blender or similar. That's where it failed for me. Sometimes after minutes, sometimes after an hour. If I get a replacement, I'll have it render a whole night just to be sure.
@@andreas1416 sure. I will make sure to look into it. If it draws 100w as default, I'm sure anything less will throttle. I will also be testing with XG mobile to see how much difference if any.
Question, someone who can help me. If this laptop works well for me to use CAD or BIM programs for 3D architectural designs if I don't have the external gpu???
Video at 00:59 and the Nvidia sticker on the laptop suggest it comes with the external Nvidia GPU, but when you unbox there is no external GPU? @Joseph Kim are you aware of that?
A bit late to this video but just wanted to ask. I am a student that also wants to game (AAA titles) decently. Is this worth getting or should I opt for a 3060 laptop because size and weight are also a factor for me.
@@JosephKim thank you for the response! Cause the stocks of this laptop is very rare in my country and i was thinking that maybe i should just opt for a g14 or lenovo with a 3060 though it is bigger and heavier.
Great initial reaction. Any chance you get your hands on the Vivobook S 14X OLED (intel 12700H) ...and maybe compare it to this one...
I don't have access to Vivobook S 14X. Any perticular feature you are looking for?

Thanks for letting me know. I would have missed that. Are you saying using the third party charger will prevent it from performing to its max?

Some 3D architectural design software need GPU for rendering. It is hard to say without what you use.
Video at 00:59 and the Nvidia sticker on the laptop suggest it comes with the external Nvidia GPU, but when you unbox there is no external GPU? @Joseph Kim are you aware of that?
The sticker is there because it has internal GPU as well. No external GPU included in that box.
What about the battery life of this new 2022 model ? It's crazy how NONE of the reviews of this new version talk about it...
I'll be sure to get that.

I don't think you can play AAA titles on this laptop alone. If you get XG Mobile, that's a different story.

There are currently two models in x13, one with DDR4 32G and the other with DDR5 16G, which one will do better?
I'd imagine DDR5 can be faster speed. But the memory capacity often comes into play more than speed. So, pick your poison.
Hi!, Does this laptop have an ethernet port?
No.
K, thanks
Where do u charge the pen?
The pen has battery that you will have to replace.
@@JosephKim i see, thanks
i just bought this laptop for $899 at bestbuy for college! I am a mechanical engineering major
Nice!
no pen?
No pen was included.
That is a super cool gaming laptop, but it is not ergonomic. Ergotauri is making a new one-of-a-kind ergonomic gaming laptop.
