    8 amazingly clear and concise steps. Great video, Dave! I especially loved your advice on editors. So many people think that writing children’s books is easy because there’s so few words, but the opposite is actually true. Because there are so few words, you need to make sure every word you use is spot on!

    When I was 10, I read 'The Silence of the Lambs.' It's still my favorite book, and people still tell me that I'm not ready for something like that. So there are different interest groups, and your story will definitely resonate with someone. Write as you like, write as you wanted when you came up with the idea. (((But of course, I'm not advocating for writing a children book about how a cannibal kills a new victim))) You're the best, don't give up, write, draw, create!

That one I wrote for my nephew and he told he liked it but I never published it. I wish I could get an editor for it and maybe publish. Also, I've been planning to write fairy tales of my own to write more kid stories. Funny thing is that I haven't worked on them yet. Hopefully, I'll get to them soon enough.

    I agree with you, hire an editor or find someone who is an English major to edit your book if you have a friend in the family who is great at this. Alternatively, install Grammarly into Word to do initial proofreading for spelling and grammar errors in either the Free version or the Pro version. I watched your other video on Grammarly and installed it. I was surprised on what I found in my documents since I thought my English was fairly good already.

    • @charlottesantos4199
      @charlottesantos4199 Год назад

      Great idea. I found that I need to stop the editing on my word program. When I am writing and ideas are flowing I get distracted by the all the red wavy line because of mistakes and misspelling. I will stop and start editing my work; there goes the flow. My rule of thumb is not use any editing software, even the one that comes with my word program until i am ready to edit my work.
      Never used Grammarly. Can you not use until you want to?

    Being able to hire and adequately pay a talented artist to create beautiful illustrations is the biggest hurdle to overcome in this entire process. It takes a long time to create high quality illustrations, and a lot of money to pay someone to do it for you without rushing them or ending up with mediocre results. What can be done about it? Well, if you’re like me, you are now learning to create your own art -it takes time! It will be worth it, 100% 😊

    My daughter is 7. She likes to draw stories. How can I develop her talent?

    Great tips!! I'm super excited to start on a book. I do have one thought, what about your name? Would you recommend using your real name or coming up with something different, maybe even more catchy?
