    BOOK A LIGHTHOUSE MENTOR
Are you or someone you know doubting Islam? Do you find yourself struggling to find answers? Do you have a hard time speaking to someone about Islam? Are you considering Islam but are unsure about certain concepts? Are you an activist, Imam or community leader who is unsure about how to handle questions related to science, philosophy, the Islamic moral code, etc.?
You are not alone. Over the course of the last decade or more there has been a rapid proliferation of content online and in academic institutions that has eroded the faith of some people.
Seeing the rise of this phenomenon , Sapience Institute is introducing a One to One mentoring service called LIGHTHOUSE.

And thus the infamous chapter of Al-Asr (which roughly translates to era or time) of the Quran comes to mind:
    *1. By time,*
*2. Indeed, mankind is in loss*
*3. Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience.*

The emergence of secularism and being politically and socially apathetic to religion, I believe, is the cause. Religion has always been the reason for people to get up from their bed on days they're feeling tired. It just makes endurance possible. But with the attitude of "religion doesn't matter" people have lost that urge to live. I think part of the reason we see so many people join social movements is this craving for meaning, a reason to live, to make yourself useful, to have a justification for your existence

JazakAllah khurian so much again can’t stress this enough I’m learning so much. These are just my thoughts but it’s pretty basic. I feel like we live at a time that, when people don’t have purpose the outcome is a meaningless purpose therefore nothing has value. So the only things that do have value is selfishness or superficial. There’s not a connection to anything wholesome or of great worth. I hope that makes sense it’s self based ideology, basically. I believe this is where the root of never being satisfied or having a sense of contentment can never take place. Just a thought.

My bets are on Industrial Revolution, general development in all other fields. Mankind felt like it had power and thus felt the loss of need of a God ,a greater truth. I can relate it to moving to the west from a poor country.
I had a depressed friend who once asked me two months after I arrived in the west after living for almost 20 years of my life in a third world country, "Bro, do still pray". Then he continued about how he had stopped weeks after his arrival.

The origins of nihilism would be the disbelief in Allah, not sticking with tawhid and neglecting it in your life.

Yes i agree brother, the origin of existentialism and nihilism was a response to the fatalistic world of Christianity , which destroyed the creativity of world. Many revolted against such 'My kingdom is for other world" . But Islam does not see that Christian view as fully correct, but partially. Islam considers this world as a necessary for the growth of personality, or God asks person to use His favors in world and the luxuries of life as told by Allah SWT and earn reward here as well and after. Neistche was anaware of such creative view of Islam ....If am mistaking dear , plz correct me ....I am not student of philosophy, but now realizing its importance. We must give our share to support Islamic cause...We should be doing this for ourselves because We need Islam , not Islam needs US....As Quran says to the believers ( to Sahabah RA) if you don't support the Prophet, we will emerge other people from you.

  • @aelbadrawy8324
    @aelbadrawy8324 2 года назад

Jazakillahu khair brother. I think nihilism comes from putting the nafs/hawa before anything else. One keeps following their desires and they go from one desire/ambition to the next until, hopefully, they eventually realize that nothing fills the emptiness inside except God. Some people feel this emptiness and they don’t know how to escape it as they don’t turn to God. They never realize that they were created to know Him and strive on his path until they return to him.
    وأن إلى ربك المنتهي
Also young children being in a society that cares about materialistic pleasures… they go to schools and all their peers care about are gadgets, birthday parties, high grades, etc. kids feel lost in their teenage years and many of them continue to feel lost as they grow older…. At some point, one needs to make a choice to either follow their nafs or make a sacrifice to follow a path to find the truth and ultimately finds God.

Brothers please consider this. (You probably don’t need this, you’ve all been on RUclips for a while but I’ll mention anyways in case) Your titles are titled beautifully and relevant to the topic at hand, however and a big however here, it is not easily found and definitely will not be searched by the average person who is looking for answers. Please consider “click batey” titles or generic ones that appeal to audiences or the average person that is searching. I mean this because it is evidently a big component of reaching more people to achieve success on RUclips. Please only consider this if it is possible for the topic being discussed because I think the intellectual and academic titles are needed, essential and I personally prefer them. Thank you again brothers!

Death of truth, being bounded to imagine reality as only material and empiricism as way of knowing. Ofcourse these are reasons which leads to sepration from God, that is the cause of nihilism at the heart of things. How can we seprate al haqq, the truth from reality and expect no consequences? Only absurdity can prevail as a consequence. Absurdity in our understanding of reality, absurdities about who we are and how we should live our lives, absurd moral landcapes.
In the absence of belief in God and the ever-living anchor we start grasping on volatile, fragile grounds that only creates uncertainties. It's a life laden with anxieties and void.

Western civilisation moved away from religion to material progress in the last 300 yrs. The enlightenment has brought great material progress but religion and belief in God has been stifled and made a mockery of. Materialism can never give you happiness. Man has a higher purpose. The existentialist questions of purpose of life Why am I here and what will happen to me when I die? Understanding our purpose to worship the one true God and that life is going to be of struggle and hardships. Those who strive and persevere with be the ones who will gain in the next life.
