For me this was the pinnacle of the cult sound. Nigel Preston driving the beat, Billy's white falcon ,Jamie on bass everything seemed to flow as one. All good things come to an end but I will never forget those days and I still want to dance like a crazed Geronimo when I hear that beat.

For those of us who remember - its a long way from the Tin Can in Brum, and NMA. Thank you Ian (and Justin), wherever you are...

I bought a Falcon because of Billy and this video. Nothing else needs to be said there, but I'd like to give major props to Jamie, who I always feel needs more attention - what a fantastic bass player he was.

A song from a period that held a lot of promise for this group.

The inspiration for the intro to G'n'R "You Could Be Mine" (intro).
Powerful and amazing moment for the Cult. How were they so cool back when nobody knew them??

Definitely The Cult at the best point in their career.
And this is one hell of a kick ass version of one of their top songs. This live version has a muscular power. Killer version.

dustrat910 The Southern Death Cult was a completely different band, Ian Astbury from that band formed Death Cult with Billy Duffy, Jamie Stewart and Raymondo who was later replaced by Nigel Preston when the renamed themselves as simply The Cult..

Like many other great bands who went a similar way - sometime between ”Love” & “Electric” they started listening to & became “influenced by” Led Zep and their output turned to shit…

I'm sure it was Duff McKagan who originally came up with the drum intro and I believe he was big into a lot of the post punk stuffed of this era so not impossible that this was an influence. Drums aswell as the bass part.

It's certainly a great recording of the band were hungry, confident and establishing a large fan base, and interest from major labels..... But the best concert ever ?????? I'm guessing that A) your quite young ( under 23)
      B) you've not attended many gigs or seen recordings of gigs
      C) your an ultra fan and you don't / won't listen to other music types....
I'm an old fart, born in the 1960's, and have been to a few gigs/festivals etc and IMFAO I'd have to say Queen (1984) were an amazing live act.......

Not completely. Get the Manor Sessions for the true end of the cult. They are awesome. But starting on 'electric' they became slowed down dumbed down jock rock that was begging for commercial airplay and selling out.... Look at Ian in this concert. You could tell he was so passiomnate in the early incarnations of the Cult and starting around the time of 'electric' when his voice deepened his spirits went in the toilet. He didn't have the same fire anymore, or ever again.
