The perfect quote from RC that i always remember was when Jett told you how short you were and your response was only if im not standing on my wallet. CLASSIC!
well..... regarding 38:11 and talent.... RC was unique from day one. I sometimes leave this comment over the years when anybody doubts (few do but some do) just how great RC truly was from his earliest days. I started racing at Dade City the same summer RC, he was about 7 years younger than me but I think he was in the 7-8 years old timeframe? He started on a PW and was so short when he fell over the flaggers had to lift him and the bike up to get him going again. But, just like 2 years maybe 3 years later he was on either a 65 or 85 and was racing the sunday full-track races at Dade City.... after the start there was a 180 left-hander and then a 180 right-hander that led you to the back part of the track. He would be WIDE OPEN into that right-hander, standing the entire corner and hit the tabletop going to the back section so hard he would clear it easily.... The PROS that same day didn't all make that table on either 125s or 250s. When I saw that, in just a couple years from a PW50 I knew beyond a shadow of any doubt that kid was going to be unbeatable..... And the rest is history. Side note, he was such a cute kid too.... super friendly and had BRIGHT red/orange hair and would just walk around the pits checking out stuff and being a kid but everyone knew him. He was just a nice kid, super friendly and everyone kinda cheered for him when he'd fall over but get lifted back on the bike bc he had a ton of heart being that short even for a PW50 and getting right back up and start ripping again. I also raced in my crap 125 beginner class against James Stewart Sr that summer and the following. He was a damn grown man already.... BIG guy. But, super nice and pretty fast. Dade City became the east coast version of El Cajon bc of RC, JS, Bradshaw, etc... But, Ricky..... he's ALWAYS had something most people don't.... just raw pure talent.... it's just that unique blend of everything you need: strength, balance, agility, great eye sight, great reflexes, heart, grit and fearlessness.... I've never seen anything like it.
I’ll be the first to admit to over looking Ricky on the broadcast and just focusing on the rickyisms but after this I have a whole new respect for Ricky in the booth, not many people at the level he’s at can admit to not being good at things and could totally just coast it in for the money but I’m gonna start watching the races through different lenses now, another reason to love the sport. Dope fucking pod
RC i was at troy Ohio the year you were on pro circuit 125 and you were 40+ seconds in the lead and you were hitting the rutted straight after the tunnel jump standing up in a rutt screaming the crap out of that bike, the pro circuit pipe was blue and i was beside the fence in awe. Amazing moment in my memory bank. That bike was fn screaming and so was i. Bad as.. moment in time. Those rutts were crazy. Loved the moment.

But I have been fan ever since I first discovered the sport existed at 7 years old in 1973. We barely ever even got to see a race, let alone a long form conversation interview with our hero’s. This is THE a best time to be a fan. Maybe you could argue going to a National was a better experience in the 70’s and 80’s, but not much compares to our media now. I admit I miss the excitement of getting a new Cycle News or MXA magazine back when I was a kid, but the amount of information now is incomparable. And shows like this and Whiskey Throttle are the best of it.
Only started following SX/MX a few years ago. RC is a legend imo. Didn’t see him ride back in the day but from what I’ve seen, he seemed super gritty on the track.
As someone who has won scholarships for guitar to some of the top music schools in America, I relate to Ricky and his approach to beating MC on the track when it came to learning music by ear. Some have more “talent” but it’s all about putting in the reps. At this point in my 20 years of playing, I’ve heard every progression to modern music under the sun and can literally “hear” the next chord in the progression coming. I now can pick up playing with any band having not practiced, while still adding to the sound of the music and being careful to not take away from what’s going on in the progression. Really speaks to the will of man. You want something bad enough, you will work for it until you achieve it. Cheers to the awesome podcast guys!

Knocked it out of the park just like you always do. Bringing back the 90s in all racing
Amazing interview congrats to both of you best podcast
I am glued to the TV, but my TV keeps pausing /skipping, on parts that I really wanna know what he’s saying is driving me nuts lol… is it just me? 2:17:59
I met you in Jersey the Kawasaki race the champions. English Town…Rhino..Emig. Huffman…YOU it might have been your rookie year at Procircuit at that time I thought this guy has it but he is a punk I was young myself!!..you we’re not a punk just pressure and a job you had a lot of expectations around you and lived IT. I truly wish I could go back to that DAY! I have a picture of you and I from that day so I get to remember that moment. So it’s a fantastic memory for ME now!
This was so great! Thank You!
Agree gypsy people don’t hate Jett bc he’s Aussie ..Kenny is a fan fav Chad is a fan fav even Hunter I think it’s his immaturity bc it’s Deff not his skill on a dirt bike
Intro was fire.
Hey Gypse the camera angles were a little odd here, I think you may be breaking the 180 rule in this setup. Which is ok if we are going for Art House ;D
Jace what a show Bro !!! I hope those that didn’t get RC before your Podcast get him now. 100% Good Dude. If I may I think the end of Stewie’s career was all the AMA’s suspension BullShit. He was at the top of his game and told to go sit out a year bcuz of suspicion. Test One, then test them all and there will be no suspicion. Much Respect “7”
Great to see all your success, you do a great service to the moto community and beyond. Thanks for the content!
Knocked it out of the park just like you always do. Hope everything you’re dreaming of this becoming ends up being so much more, your doing this for the love of the sport so if anyone becomes the next Joe Rogan I’m praying it’s you and I’m from Northern California and try not to miss anything you put out ❤🙏😁
100% you are the equivalent of a Joe Rogan motorcycle racing podcast... Brilliance 👌
I always liked RC! Hard working, seems like a good dude, and kicked ass!
wat a bloody intro greatest yet bro! for the greatest ever!!
Another great interview. Love the podcast!
If you’re expanding your interview figures you might want to consider Toni Bou.
At 38 consecutive world Championships he is probably the most winning champion of any sport or may be forever.
He should be in the US in July in Rhode Island for the Trial GP which you should attend if possible.

Killin it Jace!!
Great interview... thanks dudes! just a quick errata at 1:26:05 That is not Schumacher Jase is talking about... It's was Senna, who would never allow any mods be made in his car without participating in every step of the process! Great legends, all of them...
It was schumacher, I know Senna was also like this, but in this example I was talking about Michael.
Loving your work Jase. Cheers mate keep it up
