- What an amazing find at Pickerton. Pickerton is my famous claim named for all the gold pickers found in bedrock cracks. But sometimes you find gold even bigger than pickers. Dad and I had an amazing day gold panning and found one of these awesome pieces of gold.

Yep... Not a big deal to save the fine gold and sand (1/2 liter) and take home and run over a Miller Table
all that "flour" could be dissolved in a solution and then refined...or rendered out with a forge...maybe not as fun as finding nuggets but making nugs could be fun at the bank

I'm, not a prospector, but there's always something to learn in these videos. And then there's the scenery...so different than the Olympic Mountains where I spent my childhood hiking.

What a beautiful place! The gold is just a bonus.
When using built-in mic, distance is much more important than direction. Your voice a foot from the back of the mic is much, much clearer than Dad's voice at 10 feet.

Hey Dan..I'm a big fan of your videos. I've come to notice your minimalist mind set, yet you have no chair. I recommend a bike seat, nice wide one. Stab the stem into the ground/sand/gravel, and you now have knee relief when panning.
