I sure wish you would give links to locations on Google maps for the places you visit. Twmbarlwm is barely marked. And tell us the route you took to get to there, too. Cwmcarn Forest Drive looks like a big loop or circle and one wonders how exactly you got to the hill. Trying to read that bit of map you held and match it up was not easy. What was that circular structure at 03:00? Some kind of an animal-proof gate? And, as usual, no mention of the forum. Were you just teasing?
+CampKohler Grid reference for the top ST 24390 92660) (51.627654, -3.093715) - we took the Mountain Road after going all around the mountain on the main road and coming out at a place called Risca then up past the comprehensive school/leisure centre - we came back through Cwmbran.
+Elise Harris I have posted an annotated aerial view of the scene in the current forum topic for those who wish to see "the path less traveled." Also I pick a technical bone with regards to the hill resembling a bosom.
+Elise Harris The Twmbarlwm Society often have clean up days to try and keep the rubbish to a minimum. Yea though, totally disrespectful along with the moterbikes scrambling all over it. There is a designated site somewhere further along the mountain as well. Kudos for going.
+Elise Harris Just to be picky, it was changed to the The Countryside Code (or Côd Cefn Gwlad in Welsh) in 2004. However, to be fair, there is still a country code for the U.K. as a whole. It is 44. (Sorry, I couldn't resist.)
Thanks for that Elise. I think I might take a trip into Wales and have a walk around there. As for 'An American Werewolf in London', the opening scenes were filmed around Hay Bluff (near Hay-on-Wye), not Northern England. I used to go there a lot. You should be able to see Lord Hereford's Knob too as they walk along the Gospel Pass. I think the werewolf attack bits after the getting ejected from the pub, were filmed in Hyde Park. The outside of the Slaughtered Lamb pub, is a house about 5 miles north west of Three Cocks. The inside of the pub was some place in Surrey. Nothing is real... except those hills... and the werewolf of course.
+Inaflap oh, I used to live and work near Hay. I had to drive along the country roads in the snow once and ended up crying in the car park when I got there and the snow was so heavy I couldn't get my car to start again.
+Elise Harris Ha yeah... those lanes are narrow. I went to school near there and remember the school bus getting stuck a few times... even turning back and taking us home on a couple of occasions. I had tears... tears of joy.
also being picky but I think it's Elm trees that are being felled due to Dutch elm disease. fyi the forest drive is still closed to cars due to this. It's a very popular site all year round though.
The Wildman of the Mountains. Legend has it if the story is true. Every year a lottery takes place for who should be that years inhabitant of the Cave of St. la Rue. A little known Welsh Saint, from the South of Wales c1250s. Originally from France Normandy Exiled by the Pope in 1222 to live amongst the wilds of misty lands. Also St. La Rue, liked to wear long Medieval womens dresses. And so even upto day, the ordained one of the Mountains, swirls in the wind. Must be publicly banished for 1 year, to live in the Cave of St. La Rue. With only a copy of Vogue to keep him warm at night, and an odd sheep. Barrr......
Nice.😁👍
I knew I've watched you walking before.
Led Zeppelin wrote Misty Mountain Hop, based on their love of Tolkien. Thanks for making the effort, despite the mist. It was worth it in the end.
That was a very cool and amazing excursion!
+MonicaTheMad glad you liked it!
Great video, glad it cleared up enough to get the scenery. The name sure fits though, doesn't it, lol!
+PlasmaMasterDon it does!
It's amazing how much more windy it feels, on the top of the hump, compared to the bottom. If that makes any sense : )

Cwmcarn forest Drive is closed because of Larch felling. The gate is just a random gate. I will do annotations tomorrow.

+CampKohler it looks like a bosom from a distance. It does, honestly. A real one, not a fake one.
@@eliseharris its been closed bout 7years now
I just realized RUclips no longer has video responses. They probably haven't had that for years, but I didn't notice when they removed it.
A very pretty trek, Elise. Thanks!
It was sad, though, to see all that trash in the parking lot. Seems not all the piggies are here in the USA.
+jaluck yes, very sad. Very few people follow The Country Code, or even realise there is one!
