- The title most often applied to Jesus is “the anointed one”-that’s what the Greek word “christ” means! But what is the practice of anointing? What does it signify, and who gets anointed? The practice of anointing people with oil is a theme we can trace throughout the entire story of the Bible. In this episode, Tim and Jon start a brand new theme study all about anointing.

My husband was very sick with COVID and we feared he was dying. I anointed him with oil and prayed for him. Next morning everything had changed and he was healed. God is our healer. Oil represents the Holy Spirit.
Woah, just even seeing this video unlocked a memory of mine that must’ve been held kept from me. I was battling with extreme schizophrenia and specific voices I’d rather not discuss but essentially I just remember my grandmother came over one night completely randomly and put oil on my forehead in the shape of a cross. I haven’t heard voices since, praise God, Amen.

I loved this podcast truly beautiful as always...Tim your story reminded me of my story. I was almost 18 months to 1 1/2 yr old baby and I had a walker... apparently I took off into the side walk and fell off the curb and hit my head, within the same time.. About a week later I Fell on the edge of a wall heater. I was being watched by my very young Sister (Both my parents worked)...So I began having convulsions. Apparently, these falls created cracks in my cranium. Was taken to the emergency room, the x-rays revealed the injuries, so much that the Dr. threatened my parents they would be reported to the authorities, if they didn't give me the prescribed medication, for a week. In the meantime, a traveling evangelist came to our town... And my Mom (became sick) asked my Dad and sisters to take me to get prayed over. Long story short, this man of God...Was able to pray for me after the event. I don't know all the details, but I believe he anointed me with oil... And prayed over me. The following Dr appointment, they did X-rays on my head to see the progress of the medication. And he was astonished and asked my parents, "are you guys giving the baby her medicine?" And both my parents for fear of going to jail, said yes...(The medicine bottles were never opened). The doctor had never seen this recovery happen to anyone so fast... He couldn't see the cracks anymore. 😂😂😂 I was healed because someone believed for my healing and anointed my head with oil. 💞

Wow, that story in the beginning abot the spine virus. About a year ago I came across a croud-funding for a little girl with a similar condition, called SMA. The cure to it is ugly expensive and her family was gathering money for a very long time. I was persuaded to pray for them and in February this year they finally got the needed sum for a cure. Now they are getting ready for the procedures. May the Lord help them through that process too.
But hearing your story about the anointing... It's so great when His full will is at work. A true blessing, worth more than any money

Having a bottle of olive oil for anointing was a big part of Black American Pentacostalism. We had a bottle in our home just for that purpose.
Yup I remember my Granny having a bottle of “blessing oil” on her mantle. I never understood what that meant until a few years ago. A lot that knowledge is due to these podcasts.
I love this for so many reasons. Yeshua is THEE Anointed one, and performs all roles of a king (King of kings, King of the Jews) a prophet (Son of God and The Word made flesh) and a priest (the High Priest) 👑🙌🏽
Also, with the Holy Ghost we are anointed and consecrated, to be representatives for the Heavenly Father and Son of God. In faith, we are little gates who help others find The Door to enteral life. I love this topic so much

The Anointed One!🪔 🕎 As a little boy you were afflicted with an auto immune disease. You were anointed with oil🛢️ ,🙏 prayed over n healed. There is a passage in Scripture where a woman smears some expensive oil over the Messiah's feet.
Many years ago at a Bible study a lady asked if Christ was Jesus last name. Some ppl chuckled but she was very serious about the question.
Asking questions is how we learn. I have learned not to chuckle, but to give an answer. Do chucklers not know the answer? It was a good lesson for me.

Why do you all caps lord? Lord in all caps in scripture means Yahweh. “Praise to our God and our Yahweh Jesus Christ” is not right.
@@cc3775 Technically you may be correct but Christ claimed to be the "I AM" (John 8:58) i.e. the self existant one. In essence Christ is one and the same with the Father.

There is perfect unity of purpose and deed in our God.

Kings represent God to the people and Priest represent people to God.
Beautiful teaching. One thing I would like to add, is that when you look at Leviticus in the Hebrew language, the offerings were given at the FACE of God.
The priesthood re-presents the face of God to a people who became alienated from God due to sin.

I appreciate the podcast arc about "day-to-day" Christianity compared to our concept of sacred setting Christianity (such as in church). It's possible that the role of king would more suggest the day-to-day form of Christianity which is just as important as a Christian who makes a living working in the church.

I can't help but think of how I've literally heard people say "Jesus H. Christ," as if that's his whole name.
I knew about the Holy Water, and that in the word the woman 'anointed the Lord's feet' and Judas was mad....
I had my church come to do that also to cast out demons from my home same time, ...

I know all things are possible through Jesus.I believe and follow Christ! I know that’s why Im being spiritually attack by the devil. I’m a single mother with two autistic children. My husband died years ago. I feel so alone. I have no family nor friends to lean on. I’m so overwhelmed since covid I can’t seem to get back on my feet. I lost my job at Forsyth hospital for declining the vaccine. I only declined due to my health conditions. I suffer from lupus, and heart disease. I’m now waitressing and so thankful but I’m not making nearly enough to get by. I started homeschooling my children because they were having so many issues in school including bullying. Now especially that I’m homeschooling my hours to work are limited. God hear my prayers. Every month is a struggle to not end up on the streets with my boys. I feel like a failure. I’m so ashamed of not being able to provide for my children. It’s so discouraging. But I keep faith. I know God willl provide in Jesus name. Thank you Jesus.

Not always specifically anointed with Oil. Anointed with spirit as well. As christian believers are anointed in the spirit, we too are christ. Thats what the apostles mean when they say we are "in christ" (in the anointing) and members of Jesus body! We are also begotten sons of God (because of the "new birth") and we "represent Jesus," and through Jesus, God. Representation.

First, I want to say that I enjoy your channel and learn a lot from it. I noticed at 37:00, you said that you like to spell the names the way they are pronounced in Hebrew, which sounds like (to me) you like properly pronouncing the Hebrew names (or at least as properly as you know) I like doing that as well😁. So shouldn't we, so much moreso, love and desire to pronounce and write the Hebrew Name that is above all names and is the only Name under heaven, given among men, whereby we must be saved. I refer to Him as YAHshua. I use "Jesus" when in environments where people may not be knowledgeable of His Name, which is a Hebrew name. But when I do, it's usually with the intent of teaching His Name,... or at least planting a seed concerning His true Name. Otherwise, I'm at the point where I really don't like saying "Jesus", knowing why "the whole world" has been taught that "Jesus" is really His name. Which was/and is a false teaching, introduced for a very SINister and DEVILish reason. Peace and blessings brothers. HalleluYAH!

I think it's funny how people try to blend Apostles with the religion of Catholicism. Apostolic is monotheistic and Catholicism is polytheistic. Two totally opposite religion or relationship with the term "God" or "gods" Know the difference with the first couple of the ten commandments (the original text). And if you are honest with yourself then the confusion will clear up.
But the recipe for this oil is fantastic!
I'm much pleased with the insight but the modern-day pastors and prophets are wrongly using anointing oil and besides mostly it's cooking oil actually not the olive oil.
Seems if more people would read Hebrews, especially from chapter 8 on, we can see that Jesus was made a high priest after he became God’s newest covenant at the time. I don’t know, but it certainly appears God tells us rather point blank in that book that no one else stands beside him. Meaning we’ve been lead by certain word choices to believe Jesus is God.
Perhaps if we realize how we’ve been lead to believe what could be as false teachings, no wonder we are facing what we appear to be at this moment in our time.

The one who gives authority is greater that the one who is given authority. Yahusha might be sitting in the power of Elohim possessing authority in the heavens and on earth but Yahuah is the MOST HIGH. Just like Pharaoh was the true king even though Yoseph was ruling over the whole of Egypt.

I found the oil to be more love, agape living. All 10 fall asleep, only half of them have enough oil for burning when the bridegroom returns. In connection with HIS saying that the lobe of many would grow cold, I understand it as those who choose Agape living, embracing what MESSIAH has done for us or grow cold, dead, like the fire inside the lamps. A branch cannot produce when it is been cut from The Vine.
Simple. The people with lamps are those who claim to be Christians. The night the bridegroom comes is the day the Lord will return to this Earth. Those who have oil are those who are truly Christian and bear fruit, and they will be accepted of the Lord. Those who don't have oil are those who claim to be Christian but never knew Christ or his word and loved sin, and these will be perish. It has absolutely nothing to do with speaking in toungues.

You forgot the leper! The leper was anointed with the same anointing as the king and the priest in his/her time of cleansing after they were healed. That is super profound in itself.

I got involved with black magic and got cocky about using it on someone and I think they learned I was using that on them and are now cursing me with death spells. You should read Ephesians 6:10-18 about the spiritual armour of God. God truly has given us the power to resist the Devil, and succeed. There was this one time that Jesus gave his followers the ability to cast out demons. Listene to what he said

The Devil has nothing over the Lord.

God has a name and our Bible uses the title Lord rather than what the greek says , It dose so many many many times . The greek says YHWH. The fact is ball means lord. This is done over 1000 times could not find the defiant count.

Neither is "Jesus"--which is the Latin version of "Joshua". Guy's name was "Josh"--which means "rescuer" in Josh's native tongue (Aramaic).
