Really enjoyed watching your videos Kas. Not a lot of quality goalie videos in the community so seeing somebody playing at the show level making videos is awesome. Def subbed and excited for the next one brother!
Thanks Kasimir, so cool to see all your gear up close. I didn’t know goalies wear their knee pads on a belt. What drew you to being a goalie? How old were you when you first played in goalie position?
Cool man yeah they are 2S pads because the jenpro wraps around the top to prevent premature wear. Freedy was in the 1S before he switched ti Lefevre. The 1s has a rectangle top, and the top of the pad is about an inch thick whereas your set kind of comes to a point. And that point has jenpro covering it. Clear as mud right ? lol
I used to cut a notch a bit like that one in my goalie stick when I was still a beer league goalie 20 years ago. Putting the paddle down was huge in the 1990's, and I would cut a notch because I kept jamming my forefinger into the ice.
I would love to try out a ”mage style” mask. But there is no retailers that stock them in sweden, and having a big head i dont wanna roll the dice on ordering one from america. When i play with the old timers team i use a cooper sk2000/hm30 combo just like osgood had, but with the league team its to risky. The sightlines and the airflow of a helmet/cage combo is what i miss the most when i use my bauer mask. Hopfully a retailer over here picks coveted up so i can get one! Thanks for the vid!
Love the content. I have a couple questions. What curve do you use on the ccm premier. When i first got mine i loved it and havent moved away from it since. That twig is awesome. Also what went into the design of your pads. And is the chesty custom? I see the marlies logo obviously but were there any custom mods that you made to it. Also how do you tie your pads to your skates. I always see goalie pages talking about the different ways guys tie their pad laces to their skates.
Thanks for the intro to your mask. Maybe more goalers will switch after they watch this. I think the one piece has a better fit if you mold it to your head but I can see how the lightness and ventilation is an advantage. Great vid!
Great video! What would you say made you switch from Brian’s to Bauer? What was the major difference between both that convinced you? Also, have you had any concussion issues before? I have and definitely looking for the most protective mask out there in order to make sure I stay healthy
Thank you for sharing. I'm always very curious to know what gear pro goalies use and what they like . Along with modifications they make to their gear.
i was on a high school coaching staff these past two years and here's what the coaches i worked with seemed to value: -poise -good positioning (making saves look easy) -good mechanics (the less weird, the better) -a calm head if you excel at these things, coaches will feel like they can trust you when you are in net. good luck! hope this helps some!
I play 16u AA in the states. I would say you need to make sure you have good movement and vision. Be vocal with your defense. Square up to shots. And most importantly focus on the next shot after a goal. If you have good fundamentals and dont let goals get in your head, you will be successful. And dont forget to put in the work off the ice too. School and gym.
Hi, could you shoot a few vlogs about stretching (full version) which you do before a practice after the game, even though after getting off in the morning or in the evening (with/without equipment). It would be nice to see profi NHL routine. THX
2 question for you: why does Bauer put 2x logos on your 2s gear? And the second question is why do goalies typically have 2,3, or 4 sets of gloves in their stalls?
Marketing. Bauer - and all other brands - offer many new and past models of gear. But they want to put their current retail model design and logo on display. Gloves? You have practice gloves with more padding and less feel. Game gloves, new gloves that are either being worked in or for future use. Also, if you can get more gear, why wouldn’t you take it?
Hey Love the videos ... I have a question about the gear . What happens to the gear like the pads , blocker , glove etc that are team color coordinated when a goalie gets traded ?
Really enjoyed watching your videos Kas. Not a lot of quality goalie videos in the community so seeing somebody playing at the show level making videos is awesome. Def subbed and excited for the next one brother!
I’m thinking there needs to be a collab. Maybe trav cooking for Kas?
hey trav
This was so cool to watch . Can’t say I’ve ever seen pro gear let alone goalie gear. Thanks for doing this man
Lol ”...Other than that uhhhh we made a mess”.
This was so interesting to watch - not everyday someone explains (in detail) their equipment. Thanks for sharing!
You're the best! Everyday you get way better and closing in on Perfection.
The Toronto Maple Leafs colour scheme and the Finnish flag seem to be made for each other
Getting your gear out is NEVER a mess - best use of a room! Thanks for doing this, very nice to see.
Definitely a supreme glove. The backhand/wrist extends longer than a vapor, and it's also double t.
Pads also look to be supreme because of the crs strapping and knee block
"Gotta protect the boys" 😆

Hey Kaz. Love the mask. Really tempted to get one for myself.
Bought one of your game used sticks at the ACC awhile ago year and absolutely love the trigger grip! Thanks!
🤘🏼

Holy moly it’s already been 4 years. Hope you’re playing regular minutes next year.

That stuff looks slick, Hope you and your family are doing well and looking forward to more videos.
Cool gear tour! I didn't realize you were wearing the 2-piece mask. I liked them as well, they always felt extremely light to me

sato ok molded a pro’s choice and had about 5 demos of Coveted Mask and none of them were as comfortable as the 2 piece
Great video! What would you say made you switch from Brian’s to Bauer? What was the major difference between both that convinced you?

That mask is really cool.
Also I'm not a bauer guy but those graphics are sharp. Really like them

I was wondering if your knee guards ever like feel like they are shifting and moving out of place
Just use tape
use player socks over them it helps
Sock tape an your good
Thank you for sharing. I'm always very curious to know what gear pro goalies use and what they like . Along with modifications they make to their gear.

Hey kasimir, any tips for a peewee goalie playing AA and some AAA in the states?
I’m in the same boat Gabe. I would say always get your feet set, and move fast so you can have time to be set

Is it true David Ayres was using your goalie mask at that infamous game vs Carolina?
Nope, it was his own mask!
2 question for you: why does Bauer put 2x logos on your 2s gear? And the second question is why do goalies typically have 2,3, or 4 sets of gloves in their stalls?

Thanks! And they get new gear with new colors
What does the team do with the old gear ?
