Gear talk is always fun. I went to a goalie clinic this summer & shared a locker room with 4 other tendies, and within the first couple minutes we started talking gear. Re: Warrior gloves, I'll say that the ones I've tried on at stores have always felt great right off the shelf, and they open & close like no other brand, all the others would need some kind of breaking in. If I were to buy a new glove, it'd probably be a Warrior. My primary game stick is a Warrior, and I'm a big fan of them. Mine's not as light as others I've checked out (but far lighter than the old Vic wooden sticks I used back in the day!), but I actually like the sturdy feel they have, they deflect shots really well.
The chest protector hack is absolutely true. Some people don’t believe me when I tell them I’ve had the same chesty since 2017. It still presents itself like brand new. I can use all the extra space I can get too, only 6 feet tall soaking wet, and I’m a pretty skinny guy.
when i was playing .. i say was because I don't know if I will get back into it .. but i'd get a sturdy coat hanger and put the c/a on the hanger like a coat and hang it up like that. It never felt stretched or looked stretched out

I have had issues with the G6 pro custom catching and bending the stiff outer calf with my Konekt skates. Which it looks like your old G6 were doing. But did you only do a short on the outer calf and not the inner? Im going to try to get some custom made outer calf wrap since Warrior wont sell short calf wraps separate. Im assuming because they are dependent on pad size.
I am looking at your toe ties and I am just a beer league goalie, but I hate the stock toe ties on my Machs. What pair of your toe ties do you recommend? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

When you hold your stick at the paddle you aren't supposed to hold it with all your fingers closed around the shaft. Should have at least one finger along the paddle.
@@MarcoCostantini33 so cuz Timmy Stutzle puts duct tape on his stick that’s the correct way to tape it? I’m all for Trav doing what he wants but Hellebuyck his idol holds his stick the correct way. Vasi holds it the correct way. There is a solid reason for holding the stick the correct way. Think of Ping Pong paddles. They hold them a certain way for torque and control. A goalie stick is literally a paddle as well.
Watched the game against Binghampton on 10-28-23. The defense hung you out to dry. The two goals they scored were as a result of a weak defense. Then the coach pulls you. Does not make sense to me. I felt you were playing well.
I thought you were 6’5? How are you in only 35 inch pads? I am 6’2, I use Warrior G6’s too and my knee is directly in the center of the knee cradle. With 35 inch pads, my knee cap is at the top of the knee cradle and thus too small. That’s peculiar…

@firehockeyfittraining I believe he drove him to his hockey and supported his hockey growing up, made a rink for him durring covid as well. I dont think anything happened though
2nd year as a 3rd strong goalie oooof that’s not a good sign or look fella. At this point it seems teams will keep you around for that extra social media attention they get and let you live out your fantasy to get to say you play “pro” hockey

If your Konect skates are giving you problems, you can always try to put hockey tape over the upper section of the boot.

For a 16 to 18U AA player, do you think the PRO is worth the money over the G6 E+? Want something that will ecel for him for at least 2 years.

You never know if another goalie gets sick or injured. He's the back-up to the back-up.
