This was great. I'm so nostalgic. Forum culture was different back then, and zzyzz intersected the bodybuilding and aussie electronic music subcultures/forums, right when the rave scene was at its peak and everyone was on pingers
It's understated that Zyzz used anabolics to gain that physique. it's misleading that he sold "advice" for cutting and macros without mentioning steroid use. It's damaging to so many who fall for the trap of getting into the gym - not seeing the progress - extending to drug use to get an otherwise unattainable goal.
He made such a big turnaround from gamer to bodybuilder and seemed like he genuinely loved what he did. And seemed like a pretty funny character too. What he did was admirable, with the work and effort it takes to get his "aesthetic".
People forget or don't realize that for the bodybuilding subculture, ZYZZ was different from the norm. We were entering the 'bubble gut' era where people like Kai Greene were competing; bodybuilders that prioritized massive size over aestheticism. ZYZZ wasn't a professional body builder, but he was a part of the culture and showing something different.
I hve seen thousands of influencers but none of them caught my attention to get influenced and motivated but after I discovered zyzz my life changed!! Hes truly a GOD thnx for talking about him !! ❤️🔥
I don't understand, if the family had a hereditary heart condition, and the mother was a cardiologist, why did they not make sure to get that checked? That's so sad :(
Wouldn't matter if they had, he was taking a metric shit tonne of anabolic steroids, fat burning stimulants and party drugs whilst doing no cardio - was only going to end one way sadly
i personaly would love to be as big and muscular as bane and be indimitating so my enemies wouldnt dare to mess with me. i would love to get there naturally but im not into body building as much. i do work out but i focus on martial arts writing and poetry more.
12:41 the most popular bodybuilder in the 21st century? And that may have been the most overstated flattery of the 21st century. Sure he was influential to a group, but he didn't have any impact on bodybuilding at all as an artistic craft in itself. He just became just another skinny kid who got buff, but aside from convincing some other guys to hit the gym, and then a fewer more guys to hit the needles and roids, his influence is zero compared to others like Michael O'Hearn, or Christian Boeving, or Eric Janicki or any countless others who have vast social media profiles that numbers in the tens of millions. Ultimately he was a very small fish in a very large and crowded ocean of muscleheads.
I never understood the obsession with Zyzz. I mean yeah, he "motivated" people but overall he was just jacked party guy, there's like hundreds of them in outdoor parties every year :-D
It might sound cliche but he was the first to really build a social media brand off of it, and for this reason I consider him the original 'influencer'.
Wasn't just that It's that he was posting for other nerds on places like 4chan. The big thing was that he was circulating on sites for neckbeards but ascended to becoming the Gigachad meme who got laid like crazy

I loved your video, it's a good documentary, one of the best I've seen on zyzz. Could you tell me where I can get your posts that you publish in the bodybuilding forums?
Do people not know extreme body building is just as unhealthy as being overweight? Body building puts insane levels of stress on your body usually letting to heart damage due to the strain on the heart during workouts and the lack of fat during fastings.
Lack of fat during tastings? The Fuck does that relate to heart issues? I’m 26 and been intermittent fasting for the past 8 years to keep my body fat low while keeping my gains. Fasting prolongs longevity so I don’t know where you’re getting your info from but Zyzz passed due to using drugs and steroids while having a heart condition at the same time.
I used to wonder about this guy after seeing his fanbois and haters. After seeing this vid, I'm thinking what was the point? I was hoping there was more to it than some guido who died
@@AnomalyDocs lol, well since I prowl the internet a lot. I came across zzyz and never found any good info on the dude. A few constructive criticism, you should have gone a bit into more detail on how he influenced a lot of online fitness culture and how he actually got a whole new genre in body building (asthetics). Besides that pretty well made, I thank you. In the future, I may recommend other some obscure internet personalities if you like. Keep up the great work.
This video should have been short ??What happened to Zyzz Ooh he was sick or he had a heart attack Simple instead you narrating his whole life story tf
I thought this was a channel to share obscure stories, after all the zyzz memes over the past year and his impact on the gym culture there js nothing obscure about zyzz. It’s just an attempt to cash in all the attention on him.
Most videos don't cover his actual origin story, just his memeyness and the year before/after his death. I've wanted to do a proper Zyzz documentary since I started this channel, as I was in the loop about his story while it was actually going on.
I'm an Anomaly fan too, also always waiting for his obscure bizarre stories and personalities, I must say that I 've never heard of this guy Zyzz and I'm not aware of any media attention to him, so it's news to me, but yes, his story is not as weird and epic as the subjects of previous videos, but it was interesting enough to keep me hooked for the duration.
