I am already in tears laughing at all your witty insights into the February celebrations! My favorite, “I wouldn’t mind a faithful fornicator”😂I always squeal in delight when you post your monthly almanac. It is so interesting and entertaining, and I always learn something new. ❤ from chilly Michigan!
I am starting my inner cleanse with finally beating my eating disorder and losing weight in a healthy manner. My goal for this year is getting well, and focusing on learning to like myself and maybe even find love. In Sweden on Shrove Tuesday, we eat something called a Semla. It's delicious! It's a sweet enriched cardamom bun filled with, traditionally, sweet almond paste and lots of whipped cream.
The blend of witchy tips and hilarious chat are a winning combination! I was always taught that the weather would ideally be awful on Imbolc so winter would come to an end quicker. Happy first of Spring from Wales
We have our own valentines day in Wales celebrated on the 25th Jan called Dydd Santes Dwynwen (St Dwynwen's day). Not as widely celebrated as it used to be but thanks to the Welsh language revival it's now becoming more popular.
Pisces woman here, born on the 19th. Glad to know I'm lucky and delicious. My husband did leave me, I am very short sighted, and introverted so 'have trouble with strangers' and am very faithful. These almanac videos are fantastic.
Let's see, broad beans (usually Fava) are Bush beans, which means they have a bushy growth habit. I suppose for a Bush bean to grow 'the wrong way' would be un-bush-like? Perhaps become a climber? Hmmm....that bit is quite interesting about leap year! Thank you for your video, and love light and blessings to you!!❤
We have lots of work to do this month. I have been working since the beginning of the year on cleaning up around the pond so my husband can get the pond itself cleaned. We also will be putting up the chicken coops, getting the area where the green houses go prepped, same goes for the area where the livestock will be kept, etc So needless to say it’ll be a very busy February getting things ready for spring. 💖 I feel very excited, it feels like we have the blessing of the land spirits. The spot we’re moving the big cabin to has a beautiful natural rock garden. My husband says there’s a vortex or something up there. All I know is it’s very peaceful, welcoming n it feels like we belong there. It’s hard to explain but it’s really incredible. I feel like we’re meant to be here. It’s our job to nurture n heal the land. 💖
Ginny you really are amusing. I love the way you present. You really cheer me up and make me smile. You are very very interesting too, I love the information you share. You have taught me so much. Thank you 😊 Bless you
Jackolent sounds like the 6th day of Chinese Spring New Year. You send off the Ghost of poverty/The Poor wretch by throwing out all rubbish and rags and sometimes a. offering is made publicly too.
Oh Ginny I loved this! Happy Imbolc . I'm hoping for lots of snow ❄️ & rain this spring we really need the moisture. I do miss the daffys and snow drops we might see those in May lol. With regards to the Chinese zodiac animals each has a positive & negative side. The dragon 🐉 can be a creature extremes good fortune for sure. They have to watch out for Ego and impulsiveness. The element of wood will be fed by last year's element of water 💧. I am a brown earth Dog 🐕 so as with all Dragon years for me they are never boring. If you go back to 1976, 2004, 2012 this year will have similar events. Thank you so much, sending many blessings your way ❤❤❤
Love your casts.....I'm feeling so at home with you. I come from a long line of "witches" I'm told. But I didn't get all the insight. My mom gave me as much as she could before she couldn't spend time with me. But enough to guide me. Thank you for your videos
So so exciting to listen to you Ginny . You are a wealth of knowledge and such fun thank you so much you just make my life better love and light to you xxb 🙏🧙🏻☘️
Thank You Ginny, for all your wonderful insights. I love your videos and although I just found you recently, I am hooked and will be following you regularly from the east end of Long Island, NY. Happy February. Thanks for making it so very much more interesting!
Love this, I'm working on a yearly Almanac book of shadows to make the craft easier and this was exactly what I needed for a little fun and practical magick.
Hereditary witch traditions. On valentines day Norfolk " jack o lent" would leave us kids gifts at the door! My Mum, kept us distracted, Nan would leave the gifts from "jack" at the front door, ring the doorbell & run around back to us. Ahh! Ohhu! How did that happen? 😂 We'd go to the door & be wowed that there were gifts for us from Jack! 😂 Unfortunately, they died young, so, I never got to question them on this witchy tradition 😢
Hi Ginny, we go and watch the hurling held nearby (in Cornwall) every shrove Tuesday. There are 2 teams ...town and country. Only men are allowed to play and they have to be born in the parish. There are 2 'goals' miles apart, they throw a silver ball up and then its a free for all. The team gets the ball to the goal are the winners. It's very rough (the shops board up their windows). In the evening the ball is put into a big jug which is then filled with beer. It is good luck if you drink it (silver beer). I have and you have to ignore the bits of grass and mud and that it's been passed around the rest of the pub!😆 The following Saturday, they do it all again 🙂
Lovely video as always Ginny! Ive had a delightful start to my February and this simply added to my pleasure. Your almanac series is a favourite of mine
My mom must have had her beans grow wrong a couple years ago because all season her plant worked really hard on only one bean and it ended up being a 3 foot long green bean. It's probably similar to when people only focus on one aspect of themselves while the rest of their selves go neglected.
The weather prediction on Imbolc is known as Groundhog Day in the US- is this also done in other countries I wonder? Whether or not the groundhog sees it's shadow predicts if 6 more weeks of winter will last
Grounghog day is not well known in Europa, as Groundhog is a North-Amercan annimal. But we similiar predictions, like if the sun shines so the snow drips from the church roof we shall have early spring and a good year. Another one is if it drips so many drops of water from the roof to make a fly not thirsty, the spring will be nice. I'm Norwegian, hope the translation make sence.
3:55 - speaking of psychically cleansing yourself… I just *cut off a FOOT of HAIR* 😳 I kinda love it 😁 9:29 hahaha I love you 😂 *googled: collop is a slice of meat 🥩 - so really “Meat Monday” lol 13:19 Do you think it’s bad luck to buy yourself one? I’m Welsh as well, but have no family 🥺 Simply stunning, yours! 13:41 Ohh you should do more of that! That was fun 😊 I’d looooove to see some of your {possibly historic} awesome collection of books/grimoires from generations 🤩 15:22 lol that sounded _personal_ 😅 15:38 odd that a Pisces would be afraid of water, no? 16:19 🤣🤣✋🏻 17:40 LEAPLING is sooo cute 😭 aww imagine naming a lizard that or something 18:05 “wrong way for beans to grow” I believe means NOT reaching for the sun? That’s what my beans do; they lean towards the sun “growing the right way” 🤔 just a hypothesis Oh PS: I dug a little deeper into mine (and my mom’s) Chinese zodiac. We’re both horses. But she’s a FIRE 🔥 HORSE 😳 (no husband but I think she’s killing me lol) But it’s absolutely *INSANE* how _all of it_ is 99.999% *SPOT ON* 😳 spirit & culture never cease to amaze me I’m a metal {gold} horse btw 😊 🤍 your 222 like 🤍
P.S I'm sure it's fine to buy your own spoon. You could put a wish out there, next thing you know you may find a lovely one in a thrift shop!I find things have a way of popping up❤
Pay no mind! Most of these things that are meant to be unlucky often come from Christian opposition to old Pagan things.I was born on 13th, unluckyness(sp?!) Something to do with the last supper or the number of witches i a coven plus the high priestess!Who knows!Lets work on making our own luck.Leapling sounds so sweet to me😊
Well shit....I was born in 88 so I've always thought I was born in the year of the dragon. But I was born in January...so that makes me a rabbit? My entire life has been a lie.

Germany does this, with a badger. It's what groundhog day is based off of.

A collop is a slice of meat, specifically bacon in England, I'm a dragon in the chinese calendar jobby.
inbolc blessings
I was born in the year of the dragon. Marry that with my astrological sign of Leo and I’m an adorable mess. 😉🦁🐲
I'm a Pig on the Chinese Zodiac so we have something in common Ginny Metheral I wish I was a dragon zodiac sign I love dragons
🙏🙏🥰
I was born in 1988 so i'm a dragon but i never had much luck or success in anything.😅
My youngest son is also a dragon, born in 1988 like you.
I believe "collop" is a thin slice of a fatty meat (bacon, forex)... 😎
Yep - Collup Monday is basically where you use up all your meat before Lent, so you don't waste it while you can't eat it.
Before I continue to watch, what hemisphere is this for?
Northern...as I live in the UK and this is a UK based almanac
Well shit....I was born in 88 so I've always thought I was born in the year of the dragon. But I was born in January...so that makes me a rabbit?
My entire life has been a lie.
that is exactly how I felt - 30 years of being a rat and then Bam. I am a pig…
I am a rat
Hello Ginny metheral, I love your channle and I hope you have a very good imbolc today
