- The story is set in Tokyo. The world's largest sports festival "WSG: World Sports Games," which only takes place once every four years, is scheduled to be held soon. And it is also announced that the world's first "vacuum superconducting linear" train will start running from Nagoya to Tokyo in conjunction with its opening ceremony. Then, the event's prominent sponsors are kidnapped at a party venue. Shuichi Akai is monitoring the incident and FBI is waiting for an instruction from him. Meanwhile, Conan finds a connection between the kidnap and the abominable WSG successive abduction happened in Boston 15 years ago, which was also investigated by FBI. Is this just a coincident? What will happen in Tokyo where people are gathering from all over the world?

Akai bloodline is scary. Like what Amuro said, there are two person scarier than him, one referring to Akai Shuichi. Seeing other members of Akai family being a smart, tactical person just like Akai Shuichi himself, shows that Akai bloodline is definitely one of a type..

Okay then there’s Ran in danger as usual...
As of right now, the only way for Conan to have any goal or motivation is by having him Save or Protect Ran from dangers.. Both Conan's character AND Ran's character have been only getting worse.
Honestly yah that one of the reasons I don’t ship them because the relationship is one sided I ship Conan with hibara because there relationship is really good and there chemistry is much enjoyable an like with ran which feel (to me) to awkward and foursd

and honestly it’s not just her. the show has been ruining a lot of characters. at first I used to like her and didn’t mind this ship but as the show went on they degraded her to just the damsel in distress that conan has to save every time. It’s honestly so annoying and really makes me cringe. at the start she was a queen she took care of her dad, kept her feelings about her parents divorce, was great at karate and showed that a girl can be able to stand up for herself and be strong. but now look where 25 years has taken her I can hear her “shinichi” in my nightmares. is why at this point I respect and love all the detective conan ships except for the canon one.

Movie 13 Raven chaser is good and personally the best - the dimensional sniper. But zero the enforcer and sunflowers of inferno are meh.

Ok First of all Shinichi made it very clear from the beginning that he will make sure Ran doesn’t get involved in anything related to the black organization. From the beginning he vouched to protect her from harm. She is very capable of protecting her self and very capable of protecting others, but it isn’t exactly easy when she knows absolutely nothing. What the comments are saying is not fair for Ran. The person that she grew up with, fell in love with and saw every single day just disappears on her, with no explanation nothing. All of a sudden he returns with the an explanation that she can’t deny is false because she’s been around Detective work and knows how dangerous it can be. Then all of a sudden he disappears again with just phone calls or texts. No explanation to the real reason, what is she supposed to do. And I can’t help but feel bad for her because everyone who knows his true identity keeps telling her lies. Not to mention even when she suspected Conan was Shinichi, Sherry( Hibara) disguised as conan, Heji disguised as Shinichi, and even Kito disguised as Shinichi, just to prove to ran that since Conan and Shinichi are right next to eachother in the same room it means they are not the same person. Honestly she could have left him because of the waiting like that but she didn’t. They truly love each other and over time it shows. Also Sherry and Shinichi are on two completely different paths in life, yes they have one goal which is to destroy the black organization but for completely different reasons. Attraction is nonexistent in their freindship.

Exactly, people hate on Ran so much when I know I would be like her in her shoes. Your childhood friend just up and disappears one night, only to return for a day, or just a couple hours every once in a while and appear again. I also hate the fact they make her so freaking weak when she is clearly one of the strongest, if not the strongest, female character when it comes to physical abilities. Please, bring back the badass Ran, or at least make it so Conan's/Shinichi's saving her every god damn movie.

I think even though she said she believes Shinichi and Conan are not the same person I think she kinda know not the truth but the suspicions keeps growing even he’ll find every lie he can to protect her she’s not dumb and she can see that he have he’s reason of what his doing , as for the self defense I do agree but we’re talking about the organization here not some kinda a people they can defeat easily and with Ran character and everything we saw until now she’ll always find a way to protect people and be in danger which I’m not blaming her for that but it’s the reason why Shinichi can’t say anything about his problem

I wasn't even born that year, I discovered detective conan from my older sister watching it on the TV when I was 6 or 7 yrs old then I got curious about why Conan have a persona of a highschool so out of curiosity I watch the first episode and I got hooked at it.
She says "ano ko" あの子. Wouldn't that mean "that child" (as well), especially because it's the mother that's addressing Masumi? I'd say it depends on the context.

i'm tired of these directors ruining ran's character and turning her into a damsel in distress that always needs to be saved when we have already seen SO MANY TIMES that she's more than capable of not only saving herself but everyone else as well. it's just so sad how badly written the show has become because of the overly-stretched out plot, just for some more profit. i miss the good old movies :(

FRRR like I get that it gives more tension and action but I think most people would rather watch Ran saving Conan in a badass way rather than the other way around. Well, for me, at least, because she is actually much more capable of doing so. Also, speaking of damsel in distress, don't get me started on Ayumi-chan and even Sonoko.

Seeing those two little girls played the damsel in distress being traumatized every fxckin’ time for plot service or for Conan/Kudo to show off his skills is being what I can beard, not to mention how little is Ayumi-chan. I mean, that poor (very) little 7 years old girl been always either kidnapped by someone or threatened to be killed with a weapon and for what???? That’s why I always watch episodes that either show BO either seems really interesting to watch.

Dang im just waste my money & time watched DC The Scarlet Alibi in cinema last week , if i'd know there would only a flashback which everything already appear in anime 😓.
If you read the snyopsis for scarlet alibi, it was already mentioned that the film is only a compilation of footages from the anime. It's actually meant for people who wants to watch movie 24 but does not follow the anime. But I get why a lot of people are confused since the names are so similar 😅

But you can also read manga that gosho aoyama writes in internet it's the same as anime the difference is manga is earlier than anime.. Anime is in ep 1009 while manga is in chapter 1058 something.. So to answer your question, detective conan is still ongoing
