After Ai breaking down infront of Conan after trying many times to prove that he isn't all great of a detective and that he can fail in making a deduction, she soon puts trust into him, much more than before. she rarely doubts him and always believe in his abilities as a detective. this moment was definitely my favourite.

She remains in the water until Ran notices she got a sunstroke. Conan wonders why she did not stay with Professor Agasa, and she answers that she did not want to run away from a dolphin (Ran) who is loved by the ocean (Shinichi/Conan), and she didn't want to be a malicious shark fleeing from the cold and dark bottom of the ocean, who cannot compete with the dolphin. However, Conan fails to understand this metaphor, which draws a parallel between Ran and Haibara. So thats mean haibara have feeling for conan
@@amircoolz she said that because she always run away from her although ran’s worried sick about her, conan who deeply in loves ran also think that haibara is too cold towards her. She said that she didn’t want to be a shark fleeing from the bottom of cold and dark ocean means that she feels guilty towards them and didn’t want to experience it again. Both of them really take good care of her, if she really dislikes ran at least just for conan treat her well is not that hard, but she can’t so she felt really bad. The way she can’t compete with ran is because she’s way different from her, to her ran is like an angel and she is devil who hurt someone who is kind to her. Haibara knows that ran thinks that she dislike her, but she still take care of her and even protect her from vermouth that make her the real angel. It’s not like she likes conan she just can’t forgive herself, so she used this metaphor to tell Conan what she really thinks and of course she doesn’t want to let him understand it either, otherwise their friendship will be broken

Its fun how all the CoAi fans are mostly also yukiko fans or kid/friendship fans... also how that bubble is growing now 20 years later. Ppl finally learn how this is a real mature and healthy relationship, a partnership with common interests and common abilities to support each other, while ran is just a nice girl reduced to her ability to cook for the perfect husband when he comes home in the evening and does nothing but shout at the man bc she doesnt like his interests. Its so wrong...
30 years ago ran would have been perfect but the fandom grew up and we live in a time where women like Ai are the real deal, gosho has to reconsider... god it still feels like my life depends on her happyness after 20 years of loving this ship xD

@@felixbeutin8105 I heard the English manga also made that translation. The Chinese one did not translate it correctly. Ai was flirting with Conan, and the anime team wanted to erase that.

In this sentence the translate itself is fine since it could be "the same as" but the word choice is interesting, since oniai usually used to describe something "well-matched". She could have just used onaji (the same as).
But then again, Shinichi is 17 so if the plot context is added, then the translation became wrong. She really did tried to flirt.

Plot twist for an ending : They get cured, the Black Organization finds them. With the help of the FBI, they escape to a remote island where they start plotting the downfall of the organization, while protecting Shiho, Shinichi also falls for her, and she falls for him as well. They don't tell each other their feelings, since they are both aware of the feelings Shinichi has for Ran.
(fast forward)
They return to the city. (After so many action packed scenes, gun fights, car chases), they succeeded in bringing the whole Black Organization.
Shinichi has to face Ran and explain to her that all this time, he was Conan. Ran felt betrayed, that he wouldn't trust her with such an important fact. She runs to Sonoko, and asks her for advice. She still loved Shinichi, but was confused with the betrayal she felt when he tells her she was Conan the whole time.
Shinichi goes back to school, to his surprise Shiho was also enrolled there. They both encounter Ran, but she doesn't meet his gaze and looked away. She doesn't talk to him, and ignores him for the rest of their time in high school. Shinichi tried to win her back, but the betrayal she felt was overcoming the love she had for him. She tells Shinichi to move on. This leaves Shinichi broken and lost. He stopped going to school and only went during exams. He spent more of his time doing detective work for the police. This led to him being more popular than ever.
On the other hand, his popularity decreased job opportunities for Kogoro, which led him to drink more and go into depression.
Ran, seeing his father's state, tried to confront Shinichi about it. She went to find him on the playground, that's when he saw Shiho kissing Shinichi.
Shinichi was surprised with the kiss. He didn't expect Shiho to do this kind of thing. Shiho told him she has adored him for the past few years and never got the courage to tell him her feelings. Shinichi hugged her and told her that he also have feelings for her, but he was confused because he also loves Ran. Shiho understood and thought that he was going to reject her, but instead, he hugged her and told her not to leave him. Shinichi and Shiho becomes a couple.
Ran hearing this, cried and decided to just leave.
(fast forward)
Shinichi becomes a famous detective, Shiho becomes a bio-chemist finding cure for diseases, Ran enters the police force, Sonoko still rich af married to Makoto....
*** this anime has been running for years, I was still in elementary when they showed this, heck they were using flip phones then, now they use smartphones... I just want closure for this anime, to the point I don't even want Shinichi and Ran to end up together...***

Hopefully, Gosho could plot twist for Conan and Ai to be together because this is what a real couple would be. After watching all the moment, both of them support and protect one another without any thing in return. For Ran, she's OK but it feel that childhood friend don't need to end up as couple. I have a childhood friend and like him, I confess and got rejected. Currently, we both go in separate ways. For Shinran, try be open at least and look at the possibility, do you believe you would have a partner from your childhood friend in real life?

Ok, I was one of those people who always ship Shinran back in my teens and childhood
but now I'm in my mid-twenties and I still love this anime and I think Haibara suits Shinichi better
Think about this, most of the couples in this anime are based on childhood love, wouldn't it be more interesting if the hero ended up with a girl who defected from the organization and had the same problem with him!!!
And what makes it even cooler is that she knows all the secrets of Shinichi, his psychological state and what he faces
and not only that but they have a lot in common
- Shin loves soccer and is very good at it, and Haibara does not mind this sport and loves one of the professional players
- They both have high intelligence and can solve puzzles if one of them is absent
- They both feel that they are a burden and a danger to those around them
- Shin described the detective as smelling his prey like a shark and Haibara likened herself to a shark in one of the episodes.

If it's another manga about love story between partners who go through harships together, protect and support each other, these two would have made an iconic duo. Too bad in Detective Conan, the author has made it clear who Conan will end up with.
I do hate the author sometimes for giving hints and moments of these two when we all know in the end they will not have a happy ending. Just wish Haibara can have her own happy ending, either a lover who sincerely love her and give her the light or just her enjoying her single life with friends is fine.

Shinichi and Ran are dating, Gosho never played with the "Ai" idea and Conan is loyal. It's good that ways. Ai's and Conan's friendship is precious.
Nobody said that Gosho decided to link Ran with Shinichi, he did not say, even once, who the hero would end up with. Let me clarify: There are two main love relationships in the story:
conan x haibara
shinichi x ran
Ran loves shinichi and shinichi loves Ran, it is a mutual love, but many people make mistakes and forget that Ran does not know that Conan is shinichi, and you will always see Conan as a brother, so it is love from Conan, so Ran will not love Conan no matter what he does. As for Haibara, she loves Conan from her side only.
Conan, Hibara, hides her feelings to herself. Conan saw her in the beginning (a killer, then an ally, then a partner, now someone dear to him) The question is, will his view of her change again if she confesses her feelings towards him. The moments that I spent together were not meaningless, but were aimed at the decision that Conan would make in the end, which is:
1_ To take the antidote and return to his condition and be with Ran
2_He stays at his current age and character as Conan and spends the rest of his life with Haibara Because for Haibara, life wouldn't be the same without conan
Gosho put in a line in the Conan manga, implying the (anime) production team foolishly changed the story to add the love story (ShinRan). This would be the first sight that he was unhappy about ShinRan.

I suddenly came binge watching DC after seeing it in tiktok plus the nostalgia but what I see are shippers arguing like obviously shinran will always be the endgame but they sometimes really came uninvited in coai vids from what I see. Anyways I kinda hate gosho hinting haibara having feelings for kudo. Like sis had enough trauma and heartbreaks don't add her in the shinran equation.

It's funny how Ran doesn't ask Shinichi to video call her, more so now they are actually dating. The longer this anime run, the more ridiculous it is. It really shows how good a plot story is affected by the time period.
