The bonus track is like a radio drama. In Japan, limited edition Goods often contain something like that. It is because it is a good format to express the voice actor's acting.
Yeah, they call those drama cd's i believe, there's a ton of those, they seem to be really popular for some reason in japan because a TON of anime and games in japan have at least one if not multiple of those, like look up any slightly popular thing from japan and there's a high chance it will have one of those, i know steins;gate is popular but i swear it has like 20 something of those, i find the whole phenomena extremely bizzare from my perspective and no one in the western world talks about these besides maybe giving some random fact about a character that appears in one of those
@@tenaciousinvestigator4940They're popular there because unlike the west, there VAs are basically celebrities and their voice alone command similar stardom to movie stars/singers (and depending on who you ask, sometimes even more). In the west, a lot of people rarely care for knowing who the VAs are of characters in media, unless they're also known as a star in other entertainment fields. Meanwhile in Japan, VA is an established entertainment media on its own and many people will pay for any kind of media with their favorite VA (or Seiyū as it's known).
@@tenaciousinvestigator4940 "High chance" That's an understatement... I legitimately find it hard to name a Japanese game I've played that DOESN'T have a Drama CD.
When listening to the whole 5 minutes of conversation, It's basically an introduction of the Characters and Explaining their excitement on the launch of windows 8 and how happy they are to be with everyone, it was an amazing short conversation.
I didn't even know the OS-tans were a thing before the first of these MJD videos, but it's such a charming idea and it's been surprisingly fun to look through these CDs and stuff. It's like we're kinda learning about this stuff together as we go.
as an artist, I had so much fun watching this lol and I just wanna say your first video on this series actually inspired me to take on the task of making my own anime character themed desktop which I still use to this day
The family tree (18:25) seems to be meme gold. With my limited Japanese I can only understand some of the references, but from I can see: - Nanami's (Win7's) parents are Madobe Mikaho and Shirato Kyuuhachi. I don't know what Mikaho is referencing, but "Kyuuhachi" is literally "nine eight" - Kyuuhachi's sister is Mii... and she has no children. Wonder why. - Kyuuhachi's and Mii's parents are Kyuugo and Natoko. Again, "Kyuugo" is literally "nine five" and Natoko... well, Na To ko... ;) - Kyuugo's father's (so, the current girls' great-grandfather's) name is Sanpei, which literally means "three half", so... maybe that's a reference to Windows NT 3.5? - The current girls' great-grandfather from the Madobe house is called San'ichi, which literally means "three one". Hehe. - I unfortunately don't get most of the references in the Madobe house. Claudia and Nanami's grandmother is Sango, which also sounds live "three five", but there was already Sanpei so... IDK. - Hitonobu, Claudia's (and her brother Claude's) father, is a possible reference to Windows 2000, maybe? The first kanji (仁) is a possible substitution for the number 2 (二) - Yuu and Ai's mother is Shii, which I believe is a reference to Windows CE (C.E. - Shii Ii), which would make sense given Win8's original aim to get into the mobile market - There are some other names which look or sound like numbers, but I can't make much sense of them so I won't try. Perhaps someone else can fill in.
Yuu and Ai's father is Eiichi, a combo of 8 (eight) and ichi (one), so I believe that's 8.1 right there. The lineage above that, is Enbee, short for (Windows) Embedded, which logically was the step before Windows CE (shii) existing Sanbei can be seen as possibly 3.1 with Networking. I'm not sure of the puns, but I do remember something like 3.1 was out for a little bit before the first step towards networking being added. In the middle section, sango (literally 3 5) is Windows NT 3.5, the successor of 3.1. Mikaho I'm not sure of, but it literally needs something to do with Windows NT, since combining the code base of Windows 9/x and NT gave us XP, after the failure of Windows ME.

3D artist here, PMD is actually also an abbreviation for the model format for MikuMikuDance! I was surprised to see her already converted to that format, but given how popular the program is in the anime sphere I guess I shouldn't be.
FYI, here's a little more info. This "meme" began on August 6, 2003. And there are other ones besides the official ones. 3.1, 95, 98, 98 SE, 2000, ME, XP, XP Home Edition, Vista, 10, 11, and Mac are all the OS-Tans I could think of.
I could watch more Micheal MJD narration over manga he doesn't understand. "Here the girls are, dressed like Santa Claus... They're looking out the window waiting for... Santa? Maybe. I don't know... And here is a girl... Looking angry I guess? She looks more like she's thinking about something, but ok." The classic MJD demeanor just cracks me up here.
Oof. The reason why MMD kept crashing while you were trying to load the model is because the "Open" option is not for that (kinda counter-intuitive, I know). Ok so **cue nerd emoji edit and the goofy ahh type beat** you're supposed to use the "load" button on the "model manipulation" panel (the brown one on the bottom left), this way the model will actually show up when you feed the file to it. Most of the time this black cat goes along with 3.11-Tan as her mascot since 3.11 was heavy on DOS usage, but the other case might be that is just Nanami's mascot and its just a cat.
I definitely used Powershell in Windows 7, and I don’t recall having to download anything
You have 2 more microsoft OS Tan* to look at Touko Madobe and Inori aizawa at the very least I only really know about Inori I don't know to much about Touko apparently Touko Madobe is official don't know if that is true or not but I know Inori is official as She represents internet explorer I would love to see a video on these 2 or at the very least Inori aizawa.
I had to create the Michael MJD Anime Saga playlist. Sorry.
I saved it onto my channel 😈
I love watching these videos on friday night with a side of pasta
You know that little Kaname (sorry if I pronounce her name wrong) pop up on 7 well, apparently it’s not on this one
He finally uploaded! :)
Hey Michael, here's an interesting video idea, why not take a look at Redress 10? It's an unofficial Windows version that gives 10 the look and feel of the unreleased Windows 10X. I think it'll make for an interesting video!
Yassss I love long-form videos, and videos from you are awesome. This was an interesting dive into a themed OS, kinda wish MS would do more of these for the Americas. Halo themed OS anyone 👀?
1 hour of entertainment...
Great! 👍 :D
Ooffff that outro is the best
As an artist I'll tell you what the pre-drawing is called. We call the line drawings a cartoon.
15:00 it's called Chibi
nanami microsofts favourite child

I genuinely watch this channel to go to sleep
It´s kinda adorable to see u utterly confused at the most basic moe stuff XP
Next video:Exploring the Microsoft Neptune data file
Microsoft didn't publish Neptunia.
39:26 - I wonder if this is caused by you not having your system locale for non-unicode programs. You'd likely be able to run this using Locale Emulator
No he just clicked the wrong "load" button, he tryed to open a 3d model but the software tryed to use a project file, for 3d models it's the "load" on the second small square in the bottom
Random, I know.
But, I f■■king _love_ the stupid-a■■ ads before these videos.
_"I didn't plan on getting into an accident."_
Like, _who_ does?
(shakes head)
Madobe? Does it come with Madobe Flash and Madobe Premiere?
Madobe Xd
Yeah more OS-Tan stuff can you do Touko Madobe soon? also thanks for doing more
I like nanami in her striped 2 piece swimsuit cuz the stripes are in the windows colors on the swimsuit
This video wouldn't've been an hour long if Windows Explorer didn't keep crashing. 🤣
