It's not 170 Megabits/s (Mb/s) but 170 Megabytes per second (MB/s). Upper case B means Byte, not Bit. But that doesn't mean anything in this scenario because this number is referring to the read speed of the card, not the write speed. Write speed of this Sandisk SD Card is "only" up to 90 MB/s (Megabytes per second) which translates to 720 Megabits per second (8 bits = 1 byte).
The spec sheet of the FX6 says at 4K 24-60 fps you have a data rate of 240 to 600 Mb/s. So of course it will work up to 60p since you have additional headroom of 120 Mb/s. Personally I'd get a V60 card if you shoot 60p on a regular basis, but the V30 card is plenty for talking heads at 24p.
I just bought the Samsung 512gb V30 Pro Plus Card for $55. It is fast enough to record 4K60p XAVC-I on FX6 but also internal 4K60p RAW at 12:1 compression on BMPCC4K.
i run Prograde 1667 128gb work up to 4k 60fps - £45 and have one v90 64gb for 4k 120fps
@AbsorbStudios Can we have an update with the faster UHS-II cards please.
Which cards specifically would you like to see?
@@absorbproductions I like the Pro-Grade V90 / Sony Tough-G / Sandisk Extreme Pro cards personally, they're very reliable. Besides one pro-grade card failing, none of the others have.
Thanks for the video! Looking for cheap media for talking head stuff in all intra - 512 sandisk seems good on the price quality side - but this proofs that the bitrate technical sheet on the FX6 must be wrong somehow, because they say for 4k all intro 50p it should write about 500mbits but works with the 170mbit versions? somehow curious ;)
We have the same curiosity, when we tried this card we didn't expect it to work at all
How did you make your Fx6 white?
So it's actually a skin from Camskins. I don't recommend them but I didn't see anyone else making skins for fx6. But Alliexpress has some I've heard good things about
Buy the angelbird 1TB instead of the sony ones. 🤷🏽♂️
Well that's an option that exists now! I agree!
Dude thank you I was like I’m getting The camera but I was like shit I can’t afford storage for it lol
Your welcome! I'm so happy to hear this was helpful to you! 😁
I think there will be a difference when you film in 4K slomo, or what do you think?
definitely, these sandisk card don't support 4k 60p very well and it would heatup pretty fast.
What is it exactly you're asking? If you're asking about the slow motion in camera that's what the S & Q mode I showed in the video. Is there a specific frame rate you are curious about?
What codec are you recording in?

Good to know. Thanks
He said a testy or 3 😂
😂 for real though!
“Downsample”.
Yes! Thank you!!
