Half the guides recommend "say-tr" like you said. The other half (maybe British English?) recommend "sat-r", as in "She sat 'erself down on the chair."
While I'm sure this bike is a few steps up from my Norco, I absolutely love my Search (steel) for all the same reasons you've detailed here with this one. Like you, one of the best things I love about that Search is that if just FITS, and feels good from one end of the gravel spectrum to the other.
Few steps up? The Norco search was my first gravel bike. Same great Reynolds 725 tubing. Don't sleep on your Norco!! One of the best frames I have ever owned. That frame upgrades very very well. I put Rolf carbon wheels and Rene Herse extra light tires on and it rides so so good. I got a new frame because I wanted drop-bar MTB Geo and 2.3 tires clearance-not because of the quality of the ride of that frame. I had the olive green frame from 2019. Best wishes on your bike!
Thanks for a great video on the Ritte "the Satyr". I have never heard of this brand before. I have been looking at the Fairlight Secan as a potential gravel bike. You have made my life more complicated to consider my next bike.
Haha. Thanks for watching! Yeeesh, I hear ya. There are so many amazing steel bikes out there. I’ve drooled over Fairlight bikes for a while. Wish I could provide a comparison between, but I haven’t ridden a FL before. Good luck!
Nice setup - steel is right up my alley. I was just looking for framesets. If you know any other good steel "all terrain" bikes or frames, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
I’ve only ridden steel all my life….but I have to say the seat post material and length really affects ride quality more so then the steel and tubing type. By experimenting with different seat post I can make the frame feel quite different sometimes to a point of being too stiff or to the point of making it feel too mushy. I also find steel feels the best to my taste when it’s below 0 C and feels fantastic by -10 C it becomes very responsive.
Just waiting till late Jan when my Ritchey Outback arrives at the shop(bangkok Thailand) for assembly. I get there from Malaysia end of feb, get fitted then me and the bike heading to Koh samui for a month…no I’m not riding from Bangkok to Koh samui 😂.
I find that metal frames don't exaggerate certain road hum like my carbon Cervelo did. Metal frames create a much more pleasant riding experience for me. Don't sleep on aluminum either. If you ride on less than 40 lbs of pressure, aluminum feels very very similar and can be very affordable. That carbon unpleasant road hum never goes away at any tire pressure-for me anyway.
They’re out there. Definitely a lost art. But my heart still rocks with steel bikes… I’m kind of over carbon bikes. Still looking for that “perfect bike”… what a world we live in
I’m sorry, if it were possible for you to ride a bike blindfolded, you couldn’t tell the difference. Tires are more important to ride than aluminum vs steel. If everything else was the same and it was possible to ride blindfolded, you couldn’t tell the difference. Short chain stays and gearing and the rides capability is more important than steel vs. aluminum. And don’t give me the “strength” of steel argument, we’ve all heard about every other material breaking at some point or another. Components being the same the only thing different is the frame and you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. Tires are going to make more of a difference. FWIW - Proper bike fit is more important than anything. A bad fitting bike for you will make it “feel” like the worst bike ever.
Thank you! I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment! I usually run about 30-40 PSI with 40c tires. Tubeless of course! Have fun out there🤙🏼
Did I mispronounce this bike? Either way… steel bikes are really fun off road.

The Satyr is great looking bike, enjoy it man! 🤘🏼
Thanks homie! I wish I could keep it, haha. I had a lot of fun on it though!

Couldn't agree more! When a bike feels good with the fit, then you def want to ride more!

Steel bikes with carbon forks - best of both worlds! Looks like a fun to ride. Thanks for the nice review.
Couldn’t agree more. Perfect combination for sure. It’s a great bike!!

Just don't try to actually taste it at -10.
😜

Ooof. Waiting is the hardest part. You’re almost there though!

if seel is so good, whats's with the carbon fork?
Just found your channel. I think we are locals. O’Hair Park?
Steel frames are the GOAT.
Absolutely. Couldn’t agree more!! It’s exciting to see companies stick with steel, but update them with modern geo. I’m here for it!
Steel bikes are so hard to find.
